  • Monterey 1Pop, 1968 was actually the first.

  • @prince696 The Monterey Pop Festival was in 1967 not 1968. Only Stephen Stills played there with Buffalo Springfield played. Then at Woodstock with CSN in 1969, then at Altamount Speedway concert with CSN & Young in December 1969. Stephen is the only one to play at those three iconic festivals.

  • David Crosby is a great artist who walks in the sand of Hanalei Bay Hawaii while holding hands with Jan. We love and respect your artistry David Crosby your generous lyrics about life and delightful music soothes mankind mahalo. We walked in the sand with David Crosby and Jan we hugged. We talked it was grand today was a special Sunday June, 26, 2011 Woodstock reunion. We were close to the stage in Woodstock 1969 saw each band perform. We are in the Woodstock 1969 Movie thank you David Crosby.

  • Papal Blessings?

  • gosh stills already sounds like a grandpa talking compared to nash crosby

  • @GtoThaillDog To repeat what someone said here: Stephen has "stilted speech" due to his hearing aids. When he talks it is very slow and careful and when he listens to you he stands very close and possibly reads your lips. He is very deaf in one ear and has limited hearing in the other. He has beautiful blue eyes and he looks deeply in them catching every word. He talks slow to get his point across and says funny things and he makes sure you chuckle. He is a dear sweet Man.

  • @GtoThaillDog I saw him last night 10/21/11 and he sounded better than this talking to the audience. He also lost weight & looked pretty good. His voice is raspy but we are used to hearing harmonies & it wasn't him with the highs but Nash & Crosby first. If you listen to his solo '70 song "Black Queen" you can tell this.

I'll tell you, Stephen is on Rolling Stone all time top guitarists at #28. He is still a great guitar (and piano) player despite some loss of his voice on CSN & BF songs.

  • Funny, I was there, but I don't recall these wonderful guys there, for whatever reason. And certainly one of my favorite bands of all time, but then, I guess I wasn't focused on the stage the whole time I was there. Seriously, don't laugh, that would be impossible, you know. I wish I'd take a diary and written it all down! No camera either.

Today, it would be all phones and phone pix and phone videos, ruin it all that way!

We cooked some field corn on a bonfire at one point next to a field...

  • second performance an they played better then anything i've heard

  • the publicity before the video starts is really stupid

  • I have so many memories of Crosby, Stills and Nash.

    Thanks for sharing this.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • CSNY my favorite Band.

  • If you folks need to see something heartwarming, watch the Buffalo Springfield reunion with Stephen and Ritchie and Neil at the Bridge School. It makes those of us who love them the most and have hung in with them the longest see pure brilliance from the very beginning still show up now after 43 years they all look amazing and sound great(50 something )

  • Stephen has stilted speech due to the fact he has two hearing aids. He talks very slowly to hear his own voice and stands very close to you when you talk to him and looks deeply in your eyes. If you didn't love him as much as I do It would unnerve you to talk with him. He commands attention when he talks and always puts you at ease Look at the picture I took with him On my Facebook page.

  • Stephen became ugly, sorry

  • @loveyoufolks

you are one insensitive ugly person

but in your case it must be genetic mutation

you are likely nowhere to be able to express such bluntness

  • @redseabopper , why you mentioned my appearance. I had been very sorry for the deformation of his face, because he was very handsome when young.

  • tell stills to shave the beard- makes him look like a serial killer

  • this man coined the phrase "to sing the blues...you got to pay the dues, and carry on." He is the living embodiment of what every guitar player should strive to be...totally badass and a totally loving man. You can hear it in the music.....

  • @1willBScott I have met him now three times and he is still beautiful and witty and charming and oh so handsome. The beautiful kid with the freckles, the snaggly teeth and the big blue and white poncho that I wanted to leave my spot where I was sitting (only 8 feet from the barrier) and crawl under it with him. This show changed my life forever and he changed my life forever. Pleasure is loving and supporting only one rockstar and focusing just on him. He wrote the songs and it was magical.

  • i just watched see me, feel me by the who, it makes it so hard to watch any other aspect of woodstock

  • That advert was annoying.

  • And there you have.....footage that looks like it would have been perfect for the outtakes disc in the remastered DVD set but how the heck would it have fit....I mean they had to make all that room for that LOUSY HALF HOUR JAM FROM THE GRATEFUL DEAD on there!

  • Great great post, thank you. I have always loved Graham Nash, and it seems he was always sort of overlooked. He is a passionate singer. On youtube there is a video of Crosby and Nash singing with Pink Floyd "Us and Them." It is fantastic and Nash's voice makes the song even better for me.

  • Really enjoyed the recap from some honest-to-God muscical icons. Been a fan for more years than I care to mention. They weren't a band you had to like, if what they said was pertinent to the way you felt; you could come along for the ride. If you didn't like the band, well that was cool with them. Some of the comments were harsh, but different strokes, you know...Your kids will say the same thing about your music. In my time, they were the right band with the right ideas.

  • GOT TO SEE THEM LAST MONTH FOR MY 16TH BDAY :D

  • @danieljh Don't blame hippies. There were fascist a-holes around back then too; blame them instead for the FU way things have gone. Real hippies headed for the hills when fascists elected Nixon, and stopped listening to the bullshit being spewed by immoral politicians who marginalized them. A gentle spirit abandoned the maistream. That's the way it was!

  • @SIMKINETICS , may i quote you? well said :D

  • @geenbeen Yes, you may quote me. This message should go viral to counter the disinformation amongst younger generations who would benefit from the power of love over the love of power.

  • WHY DID NEIL BAIL?....SUX

  • @treyhoehn Neil had other things goin' on with Crazy Horse. There was also some friction with Stephen & David for a while. Tonght's Buffalo Springfield concert showed that their old friendship (Stills & Young) is going strong, and they played amazingly well. It was fantastic! Stills, Young & Furay brought it all back with gusto!

  • Great harmony, still never bettered IMHO, their voices were magic

  • Great times those 60's. Loved to hear these guys, just didn't like their politics. I was full of contradictions, free love and hippies, free spirit, but I was a soldier soon to be in Vietnam. I was 19 and very much a child of my times, Just toed the line when I put that uniform on. The protesting and antiwar stuff never bothered me, but I learned quickly the price of those freedoms. Now I'm 60 with long white hair, loving the same music and still a Harley riding rebel fool. Go figure.......

  • @coonshine1 You've got my respect. I never went in for the "baby killer" bullshit, but I

think that after The Tet Offensive the wind went out of politicians sails and the war was unwinnable once that happened. The irony was that the U.S. was very close to winning after Tet. The Viet Cong ceased to be a factor in the battles for a few years. The whole thing was incredibly sad, though. It's always the young, the poor, the innocent, and those with the least to gain who are the most affected by war.

  • after 41 years csn are still alive and kicking more power to you people ..

  • Fine video! Thanks

  • dissapointing. i guess thats why the greats are the ones that died young

  • It's called dentures ya'all. Choke's a bitch.

  • stills can write

  • Every time I listen to that record I automatically have to call my old friend Gordon.

  • Did I hear Crosby say they are "tired of" Woodstock - after Nash said he has never seen the movie? (At 1:55 - 56)

  • Got back from Vietnam September 15th 1969; ANY Unit in The World who a Vietnam Veteran was assigned to was in deep shit; we hated the fucking USAF; they let me out early because I bad mouthed the war so much.

FUCK Iraq and Afghanmistan...SAME shit different war....

  • @Greenhornet270 Hey bro i really feel what your saying , and fucking well done for even fighting in Vietnam i know from searching it because i wanted to know about it, it was horrid i have much respect for you for that , i would say im a new age hippie , i have brought clothes from the 60's can't get enough of it , my point is Afghanmistan is totally the same shit as Vietnam a stupid cause they are just over there now for land and oil , notice all the deaths are from roadside bombs. it sucks,

  • @Greenhornet270 Did you ever listen to Radio's First Termer's underground radio while in vietnam? Most important tho, thanx for fighting and glad you made it back, I agree, bunch of bullshit going on.

  • Wow! What happened to Still's voice? Sounds like he had forgotten his teeth at home!

  • stills voice is weird

  • I was there at Woodstock. My first concert was Jimi Hendrix that same year. I saw Zep in Central Park NYC, and Blind Faith too that same year. Got my first BJ that same year too. 1969 was a freaking great year!!!

  • @psychospeakempire Nice, I was only 5 then, lol. I did manage to go to the Woodstock 94 though. Was a great time.

  • where would i wanna go if i had a time-machine, August 15, 1969, Bethel, New York.

  • There was just something about the music from this time that I can't shake. I was a punker in the '80's, and actually like some of the music since then, but this sh*t was special. MAGIC.

  • I'm not going to diss the music today as so many others are won't to do in the comment - or from the 1980's forward for that matter - I enjoyed it and still do, to some extent. (Former punker, here). That being said, there is just something about the rock music of the 1960's-70's that is MAGIC. I haven't been able to shake it.

  • Is Still slurring ? Stroke ? or new teath ?

  • I was alive during the time of the hippies, and I loved them. Although I was a kid, they were fascinating. I'll never understand the haters except to say that they don't have a clue as to how magical that time really was. I'm proud to have been alive during the countercultural upheaval of the 1960's. I wasn't apart of it, but I was a witness.

  • @samgee2007 if only CAIR gives me some cash in return!!

  • pronto

  • stephen stills now lives in alpha centaury galaxy

  • Bravoooooo

  • Los adoro desde que los conocí, son MAGNIFICOS!!!!!

  • timeless, thank you!

  • man! stills changed! food is a powerful thing.

  • stills's son gose to my school and I was in guitar class with him and I met his dad in person

  • ¿ Quien tiene cancer y quien está totalmente sordo ?

  • Well I Was There in the Mood and No Blood , You Know Man Like 300,000 People and No VIOLENCE , I AM NOW GOING TO BE 60 ON 11/10 I Turned 20 3 Months After at Home . With My Pregnant Girlfriend ,The Baby was Born May17th Cool. right on world RIGHT ON .

  • man, these boys aren't what they used to be. but only in a physical way. they can still play well, and their music will live on forever

  • excelente ...................

  • Anyone think its ironic that there is an AMWAY Global add before these guys start talking about Woodstock? Oh god! Is everyone selling out?????

  • @Rivet Top Bat2, well said... they are still great...

  • Steve's face totally changed.

  • and neil young?? where is he?

  • fuck neil they're better off as three and he is better off solo

  • ¿que le pasó a Still?, bueno el era el mas agresivo del grupo, pero su musica era la mas fina, mucha contradicción en su vida.

trad: That happened to Still?, well he was the most aggressive of the group, but his music was the thin, great very much contradiction in his life.

  • Steven has been very sick, its not the drugs

  • @echick57 it sounds like he didnt have all his dentures in. i hope his prostate ca is in check. I love the man, gave so much to us all. amen. all of them

  • @echick57 I don't think so

  • Is this interview from the target version? this was not on the amazon 40th anniversary version that i have( and it did not have any extra footage of CSN

  • Guess I 'm out of touch. What happened to Mr. Stills? He isn't talking too well. I hope he is okay; I sure love these guys.

  • What's up with Stephen's voice?

  • @foureverstoopid stephen has obviously sung too much and too loud for a real long time; they've been touring non stop these last years and he should have taken a rest, some vocal coaching and maybe throat surgery but he hasn't... He'd better do it some time because we wanna see him perform for 20 more years !!!

  • @foureverstoopid I have met Stephen three times. Stephen has what they call "stilted speech" That happens when one wears very powerful hearing aids. When he talks to you he looks deep in your eyes and is very close and he listens to every word very carefully. He listens and probably reads your lips for more clarity. He has very beautiful eyes and they look deep at you. He can't hear what he says very well and anunciates very carefully . He says every word slowly and carefully .

  • @foureverstoopid Stephen has "stilted speech" due to his hearing aids. Happy Birthday My Sweet Man (66 tomorrow)

  • @foureverstoopid Stephen is quite deaf and has stilted speech due to his loss of hearing.

  • Yeah you're right. Sorry Steven, all due respect. Good luck with recovery.

  • All abooaaaard the train

  • Steve Stills looks so bad/old. Too many drugs dude

  • to a certain extent yes but is recovering from cancer and is totally deaf....also i saw them this summer in the UK and he can still play better than me....

  • @jonston3 -- Sorry - but, who are you talking about here? "totally deaf" -who is?

  • They look like shit except for Graham Nash. He was always the most plugged-in of the trio.

  • God, I'm old.

  • they are ROCKING THE HOUSE!!!

  • no,you its like in between to what youhave said, assholes!

  • Fantastic

  • actually I have heard that Steven has some major hearing loss and that might account for his speech impediment. They say with the advent of ear monitors he is able to sing and play guitar in time easier.

  • dftu

  • Too many hippies.

  • screw you.

  • Crosby actually looked and sounded much better than Stills. This video saddened me

  • Too much whisky and cocaine, not enough herb.

  • well crosby always sounded like that but stephen is different

  • Amazing attempt to get back to the garden... there is still time- despite the many set backs. CSN and Y... PLEASE DON'T STOP NOW! THE WORLD NEEDS TO REMEMBER WHAT THIS WAS ALL ABOUT. It has forgotten. We didn't teach our children well enough --- (!)

  • Stills talks like that because of Jack Daniels induced dementia.. - Keith Richards...Crosby talks like that because of a variety of powders snorted through his sinuses -- Grace Slick...Graham looks like that because he's heard all their stories 10,000 times.

  • Wow, Stevens Stillls looks so old! I'm 45 and he looks like death compared to me - too many drugs?

  • No, man, he's like, 80 years old.

  • Stills is presently 63 years old.

  • I agree

  • Does anybody know who that is in the picture in the beginning of this clip?

  • The generation of which JFK spoke in his 1960 Inaugural Address when he said, "Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans — born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage..." became, in the fullness of time, the Woodstock Generation.

After Woodstock, we KNEW that we would somehow eventually end the War and bring down the ancien regime.

  • did stills have a stroke or something? he sounds a little off.

  • Well, his voice has gone downhill, age for one part... but the drug abuse and heavy drinking played a part.

Sad, because voice used to be amazing.

  • i though 1 of them like died in like 2001 or 2002

  • I know there are several little buttwipes like you running around making silly immature comments.

  • rap is not our future

    rock is

your advertising rap in the wrong place for the wrong people because

    RAP IS NOT MUSIC

  • I will go to my grave PROUD to be of my generation. We felt linked in a common resistance to the powers that would squander our lives needlessly, for instance. It was a rejection of most of the hypocracy that had come before it. Unfortunatly, we were also around 15 to 20 years old at the time and victims of our own excesses and curiosity. We were the last generation to really scare the shit out of the powers that be. I'd like to see the current generation do the same.

  • Screw Nixon and His Drug War.

It all came about because he realized that Weed and Music bring people together. That's the last thing the Government wants. I am glad Nixon died a disgrace. He brought more than scandal to the white house. He brought a war on the American people that has destroyed countless lives. I hate him, and LBJ. The American Gestapo killed Kennedy, his brother and his son, because they were gonna out the whole system. Long Live Liberty!!!

  • Stephen Stills sounds like Admiral Akbar.

  • Thats what i was thinking lol

  • Nukeculear: Hearing Stephen talking it reminded me he sounds a little bit like Joe Walsh when he talks. Both of them are awesome guitar players!

  • I guess. More like A.A. though.

  • Woodstock was about love where all the people attending phucked Amerika in the ass. They also brought you obamma bush and ex specially clinton.

  • There was only one thing missing from Woodstock... The Doors.

  • Yeah one more dope smoker right on dude

  • I'm so fed up with the myths about the sixties. Most hated the music of Hendrix & Joplin. Most did not use drugs (addicts were just too stoned to realize otherwise). Most women remained virgins until marrage. Few drove VW beatles or buses, much less painted ones. Few wore gaudy cloths. Many thought Kennedy was a war-monger. Nixon had his supporters. Most did not protest war. Many volunteered for military service. Ultimately, music was the only true common bond between youth of that generation.

  • It's sad that not even the same can be said of this generation. Another common bond of that generation in America was conscription. My generation on the other hand has no real common denominator, and if we do I'll be damned if I know what it is...

  • it was all about living free and playing some of the best music ever.

  • all you guys who keep cussing at woodstock, go to hell. just because you hate it doesnt mean everyone else does. Woodstock was an amazing event.

  • youre an idiot

  • do you know how much energy is wasted watching the stupid 230 commercial!!

    its hypocritical lol

  • Yea really, go to a Palin rally, you dimwited narrow minded redneck

  • fuck the person talkin down on hippies...the whole idea of woodstock was for peace and love...period....go fuck ur self bitch

  • You type hatefull things here. Be a person for peace.

  • amazing

  • wtf? what does this have to do with anything? go preach somewhere else bud

  • oh great so i can go killing and raping people for life but before i die i just say oh god i'm sorry please forgive me i regret so i go to heaven right? see you later i'm going to commite genocide and then regret bye

  • Graham Nash has never seen the movie "Woodstock".

    WTF??

  • He doesn't need to see the movie, he was there!!

  • suite judy blue eyes = amazing song

  • I heard it was written about Judy Collins, don't know if thats true or not, though.

  • there is no time to see hystory like this

  • FUCK THE ADS AT THE BEGGINING

  • You Guys Traded Weed For Viagra

  • "Back in the day" there was great music, like CSN on the radio. Now you have to go looking for it. You should do that. Don't jusy buy what's thrust at you by "the Biz". "The biz" only wants to sell you product. They don't give a shit about quality or artistic value. Use your head, THINK...

  • FUCK YOU!!!!!!

  • big kiss lol lol and lots of love for you...its sad to live in the shadow.

  • If you are a fan of woodstock, then search for "blue siberia" on youtube- it is a very cool kaleidoscope video.

  • These guys are my favorite politicaly oriented band. They had the guts to say what my generation was feeling at the time and they are still very relevant. I just wish that they would record a couple of MY SONGS!! My beat guys, do you still "have your mud" ?

  • nice

  • no need to be upset if u don't believe, coz deeply u do have doubt but u do not wanna admit

  • They are still awesome I listen to them even now

  • NEVER HEARD OF THEM!!!

  • listen to them a little,they were poets!like Simon & Garfunkel..

  • I liked their music alot but my god,for guys in their early 60's,Crosby and Stills look like death warmed over. But all were talented musicians.

  • Southern Man on 4 Way Street (1970) The guitar work was unbelievable.

  • Your comments are absolutely true and correct. Jesus is the Messiah!

My only question is what do they have to do with this video? It is internet trolling to comment on things that do not pertain to the dialog of the blog (in this case a video) As Christians, we need to show others the Light of the world. Not spam others and cram our beliefs down their throats. I mean no disrespect, just sharing my experiences with you. God Bless!

  • Woodstock 4ever!

  • david crosby
