THERE ARE alien starships out there 40 light years away that are playing Creedence Clearwater on their intercoms as they vector in for Earth. Save your old cassettes and you can trade them in for a ride to Glory.
@softie461 Wrong feel, all it takes is for the tempo to be a notch high and the entire Feel of the song drops out-PM depends heavily on that hypnotic Rhythm moving along, it all rests on that-was not in this version (IMHO)
John tunes his Les Paul an octave lower here. He's playing an E chord, everyone else on stage with a guitar is playin a D chord. I always wondered how he got that sound out of a D chord on Proud Mary. I have a Les Paul BB and I couldn't ever get that sound. Now I know. He doesn't. He tunes it down an octave for a fuller sound. ( Some trivia I just had to share LOL)
@alan4sure Hi, what you have to do is to tune your guitar on D chord. It's not one octave lower, it's one TONE lower (from E to D). John Fogerty plays many of his songs with the Les Paul Custom tuned on D chord (Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising...etc). So, you have to tune all your strings one tone lower to get the D tuning. It gives you the typical "creedence sound". Remember that playing on D tune, you will have to play all the songs by a different way (different guitars stances). Regards

he dropped the tuning to E ! It does make it more comfortable to sing. Nice transition, John!

I love how Billy loved playing and singing with John. It was a perfect addition.

@johnluchomono Yup, you're absolutely right. Would be really hard to play a guitar tuned an octave lower. Strings floppin around everywhere. LOL
