To all of you spec sheet junkies who rate the F-15 Eagle low on your list, consider this historical fact; The F-15 in all air forces has a combined kill record of 104 kills to Zero losses in air combat. The aircraft killed include; MiG-29 "Fulcrums", MiG-25 "Foxbats", MiG-23 "Floggers", MiG-21 "Fishbeds", Su-25 "Frogfoots", Su-22 "Fitters", Su-7, Mirage F1s. The only reason the Euro fighter isn't on this list is because they are flown mostly by allies, lucky for them.
just a footnote.. hornets & most us planes (except f15) aren´t "all weather" fighters. most russian planes are but they´ve got their achilles´ heel of poor maintenance. they´d be lucky to get half in the air at any given time. weather´s a key factor regardless of a plane´s specs. just my 2 cents worth. nice vid!

Mig 29 and F-15 feature near identical aerodynamic features, whereas F-15 is faster, and can carry greater payload. However, the 29 has one much greater advantage over F-15 in one thing: helmet mounted weapon sight (HMS), which enables target lock-on almost 45 degrees off bore sight. USAF didn't had that until 2003.
F-15 may have over 100 wartime dogfight victories, but that's because of trained American pilots, while opponents were Iraqi pilots. Mig-29 is actually a better plane.
@CommanderAvalanche personally, i think F-22 are way to valuable to send them on regular missions, so i seriously double they will be in real combat often, probably alot of training missions, let me know what you think, really love the f22 raptors
These lists always waaaaay over-rate the F-35/JSF. Apart from stealth and VTOL capability, it frankly doesn't have a whole lot going for it. Other, more conventional 4.5-generation aircraft (EF2000, F-15SE, Rafale, Su-37, etc.) own in most respects relevant to inflight combat capabilities/performance.
Personally, I think that the Su-47 shouldn't be in there simply because it isn't production yet.
Anywho, as far as performance and potential go, you're pretty much on the money (although, the F-35 and Typhoon should be swapped I think). However, I consider the best planes to be the most proven ones. For example, if it were on the most proven aircraft, F-15 would be holding a pole position. I guess it's just a matter of opinion.
