@1730joel no they dont make the iz3d one anymore, the only polarized one they have now is the zalmon one and its like $200 more expensive, i just dont like the bulky shutter glasses
Somewhere in 2005 Sharp has released Actius RD3D, then AL3D and AL3DU which does not require 3d glasses. It was sold out immediately. After looking for info, I've found phone number and some text expressing "call to arrange the price"
make the computer split an image in 2, each from an different angle and displaying both with about an inch of seperation on top of eachother. To see the 3D, you need 3D glasses, and those could be red/blue, red/cyan, red/green, amber/darkblue, green/magenta, etc.
Console support depends on the software support. I don't believe any current consoles are doing that for a while. It does work like a normal monitor though. Go to mtbs3d or iz3d website for more info.
I suggest you try it. Get a old crt display and xforce 3d glasses for 10$. It looks damn good to be honest, I've never seen iz3d live, but shutter glasses are very good too. If you like it, thewn get this monitor.
Thank you Warface619 & mondayfool for replying in such a quick manner. I won't purchase the iz3D until they support consoles, so ill wait for that. I heard that at the Consumer Electronics Show(CES) they are updating the 22 inch model to be console compatible. Is this true?
After that comes the elimination of single frames: Have it be a permanent light beam instead. Would require fast reaction and all new calculations on future graphic cards, though. Not a technology to be excepected this life lol...
If this would really basically work our with any Direct X 8 or 9 game this would be so totally awesome. Developers of this still only had to combine it with the window effect that someone made with the Wii remote and its receiver. That means, the picture displayed on the monitor will change according to you eye position - would only work for one person only, but that is a really minor issues, since you still could just turn it off when you really wanted to play with 2 players on one keyboard.
It is called "head tracking" and is compatible with the iz3d. While you're at it, check out the Novint Falcon, Matrox TripleHead2Go, Force Feedback and ambient lightning.
I wish to own one, but I am a 3D artist, I would need to know if I can make images to be displayed in 3D on the monitor. I e-mailed the makers and NEVER got a response. IZ3D needs to make the requirements very clear as well, I have a 64-bit vista machine and love my DirectX10. I read here and there (not on makers site) Vista 64x, SLI and DX10 are not supported. It makes me very disappointed I cannot use a IZ3D monitor until these things change.
Does this only work with new games which support it? Because I cannot imagine the monitor or some software fidgetting around in old 3d engines like the HL engine to get this to work.
Just when you thought that your pro, 4 Cores, 4 GPUs, 8GB RAM on a 64bit OS 100TB with 15K RPM HDD, now you gotta spend another 700$ on a damn screen......
I have this monitor! It's great playing the newest games in true3d. For thos who don't know you only need a pair of polarized glasses to have the full experience. Like a pair of sunglasses.
No, it's not. The lcd has two layers in one screen. One for the picture and one for the polarization. When you wear polarizationglasses your eyes has different pictures at the same time and in that way allows you to see 3D. Hope you're able to see one close to where you live. It's worth the experience. The most incredible is that you can play games in trued 3d too. The screen itself almost disappears and things are "projected" both behind and even in front of the monitor.
Actually, they have a 3x22" in the works as well. I'm craving for that one even more. And don't even talk about the possibility of 3x26". That would be hyper crazy!
cant wait to get an iz3d monitor

what it is it's that it uses a driver that makes the image split like thered and blue thing and use the red andblue glasses to make it 3D
at their website they give the drivers for free
but for the best experience the moniter is well.... best

Is the 3D actually good/worth it?

Does the 3D really look good and work, or is it just marketing crap?
felipeohyeah 3 years ago
There are issues, but no major ones:
- Doesn't work with every game, but with most.
- Some ghosting.
- Nedds double the calculation power from the grafics card.
- You need to wear glasses.
In return, you get incredible immersion that can't be compared to 2D in any way!
Go to the mtbs3d forums if you are interested.

We support 64 now for XP and Vista.
And, It's not that we don't support SLI, SLI doesn't support us. We require 2 outputs, nVidia disables all ports except for one.
