@yukonrott it should be called rust resistant... put a piece of stainless steel in ocean water(salty) and it will rust eventually just lot slower then regular steel
@SirVaular ya sorry i shoulda worded that different i drive a semi with stainless fenders on it and as long as u take care of it i consider it rust proof u mite get little rock chips that begin to rust but a lil steel wool and some wax gets u by.

@jotatanka --passivation protects common stainless steels from corrosion in normal atmospheric conditions.
