@ 3:30-ish, the onslaught of 64th notes coupled with the rapid fire dialogue expressing complex ideas, all of which are in synch and perfectly delivered.....LIVE, by the way, is talent that is not of this planet. (not literally. its just great!)
@TheDeathofGrace well really when you think about it it's true. the whole notion of soulmates is crazy, and if he never met his wife and had his kid he would've met some other woman and had a kid with her
I can see why people maybe caught off guard with his comedy... but I love it! he's very honest and real. and that's why he's awesomely different. YAY TIM!
Okay, I just wanted to explain to the people hear who think the audience doesn't appreciate it that I actually think they do. I love Craig and I love Tim... Craig's show is hilarious and the audeince volume is never high, becuase they're always laughing.
@Bragnanymous no, the implication is that no matter what answer a man gives a woman, he will most likely still be in trouble. Been there, done that... all my answer options were wrong.
@GreenDistantStar They are obviously enjoying it. I love ppl like you who take any chance to hate on Americans just bc they are...American. He is touring the states right now so obviously he is not too "cerebral" for everyone.
@brazilianirishcomedy: Excluding little kids, the demented etc it's likely a lot less that 310m/8. I like Tim, but I do wonder whether his humour is over the heads of most people, Americans or otherwise. That some saw my initial comment as 'prejudiced' I found amusing.
Tim: "Okay, I'm gonna be on national television in America. I really don't want to piss off the masses, but I really want to have a lasting effect... What should I sing?
-I Love Jesus?...No.
-The Good Book?...Hell no.

I wish I could have attended one of his California concerts, just not possible this time.... Maybe have to fly to London to see his performance next time he is on tour.... And yes, CraigyFerg should have interviewed him, they would have made a funny segment on the show! Ferguson's free form would have been perfect for interviewing Tim
He's just brilliant! Saw him in New York and can't wait for him to come back! Can't wait for the DVD... Just can't wait for more Tim Minchin. He gives great interviews, too... hopefully next time in the US some brilliant talk show host will realize that. (wink wink nudge nudge)
@chrisofnottingham hes prob at the piano coz its his first national US apperance. and he wants everyone that sees him to associate him with the piano and hes not just a singer. if ya get me :P
@Nebirias i know, i saw him in march with the MSO and few years back in 09 and he wasn't wearing shoes. i don't think the USA like people with no shoes on
I hope he'll expand his tour in the States, if not this tour the next one. I can afford the tickets to the shows but not the travel to get to them. Frackin' gas prices.
@crisis610 - Awe, she clearly doesn't understand probabilities, that's a shame. I played this for my boyfriend, we laughed and decided we'd play this song at our wedding. XD
This song delights me beyond what mere words could ever convey! "But I'm just saying, I don't think you're special; I mean, I think you're special -- but you fall within a bell curve." Ha ha ha, so rich and profound. And I actually would be touched if a man wrote a song like this to me. Probably reveals something rather pitiable about my character (namely, my dire lack of self-esteem?), but I happen to agree with the wonderfully humorous message of the song. And I find it quite romantic!
@cooldarren he does that to attract attention to his face while he's performing. He can't use his hands while playing the piano, so his act includes a lot of facial expressions, which you wouldn't notice without the hair and makeup. You should watch some of his other videos, you'll see how much he uses his face during his songs.
I love Tim, but the music is a bit to busy. Having both the piano and tape was a it too much for the ole ears. I'm sure he did it that way so people how have never heard of him would know he plays the piano, but I really think he should have picked a different song. Still, I'm glad the audence seemed to like him =).
The one day this week I finally got to catch Craig when it aired, and it happened to be the day Tim Minchin was on! Awesome performance (not his best, but great). I'm just disappointed he and Craig didn't get a chance to speak on camera.
