@crcaccounts monolifts i dont think existed during those times, or at least in that comp/federation. how is that scary? a walk out isnt bad. some ppl struggle out with the walk out, some ppl dont. usually geared lifters struggle out because they are putting 100-200lbs more weight on their backs than they can handle raw which obv, would be more heavier to walk out.
@SmexyPC Forward and backward motions in the standing squat position are inherently more unstable than and up and down motions. If you fuck up the squat going down, its easy to dump the weight off the shoulders, but if you do it while walking, anything is possible, especially buckling knees. There's a nice video somewhere on youtube of a guy's knee inverting sideways while walking the weight off the rack. Ouch!
@DJPLER Ok, now you are talking crazy. I love ed coan. But Malanichev, is a stronger squatter. Just because you like ed the most, doesn't make him the best. Malanichev out benches him, and squats him, and deadlifts. In single ply, hits almost 1100, and raw 992. Sorry, but malanichev is the stronger lifter, granted he's in a heavier division..... Ed coan will always be a legend, but progress doesn't end with him...
@tastefulphrasing i don't usually comment but this is ignorant. First off bench and squat suit material today is not what it was 13 years ago. They easily give you 100 lbs more each than what they did at the time. Second off, Ed Coan is in a lower weight class which does make a difference. He is the Michael Jordan of powerlifting.
PURE POWER ! ! !

1. Walked out.
2. Sunk the depth.
3. Came up like it was a speed squat.
Absolutely phenomenal.

@throatpiece ...Perhaps you do not know Andrew Milanichev.
Look at him sit down for 470 kg.
vovkom70 6 months ago
@vovkom70 I have. His first name is actually Andre. Ed Coan's bodyweight was lighter and his squat depth
deeper. My comment stands.
