Nicely thought out. In short, you always choose how to respond. Even those in the most terrible circumstances can determine how to respond. Taking personal responsibility for everything you do is the bottom line. For me, I cannot blame anyone else for where I find myself today. Luckily, I'm doing well because of good decisions and being proactive when it counted. I'm glad Steven Covey is on the ball--7 habits helped me out in the past.

But how can we change a person who is very influenced by external weather if hot or cold or else and who is also very reactive often and believe on social norms and not on principle oriented goals. Please give me sincere advices and suggestions.

@maratibalishad Here's the thing. I was affected by the "social weather" and let myself be the victim. But after reading his book (haven't read the whole) I began to think. I began to see from another perspective, looking from the corner of the room, outside my box. I began to think how do i want my response to be in this situation? Suddenly, I smile came on my face and more and more in situations i increase my confident and own will. You really have to THINK and analyze things deeply.

I agree with the comment of samiccc....the gap or the space between a stimulus and a response is JESUS! If we acknowledge Him in all our ways, we will definitely be able to choose the right response and that is to be proactive....in the end, this choice will make us happy and we grow as a mature christian. Thank you Stephen Covey for reaching out to more people, you have indeed widened your circle of influence :)

What a great opportunity God has given us that we could choose HIM who is in absolute control of everything that will happen in our life..each day..each moment. PUT your trust in HIM. Jesus makes you proactive
