  • Damn. Makes me wanna have a smoke.

  • Holy moly someone needs to make a GIF of 0:35

  • I've never smoked in my life! Thank GOD!!! =DD

  • Good old days!

  • This f*ckers from censorship is ruin cool cartoons

    Today cartoons is suks

  • What's the cartoon at 0:39 ?

  • I remember watching a lot of these scenes as a kid without even caring about the smoking. The only thing I think that stuck with me a good chunk of my childhood was bugs rolling his own tobacco at 2:37. I spent years opening up my pizza rolls and pretend to be rolling a cigarette because of that scene.

I saw most of these scenes on Cartoon Network because that was the only channel I watched Looney Tunes on. I don't think the channel would air those episodes anymore.

  • course you gotta remember that these cartoons were meant for adults not kids, which is why there is so much adult humor. if there were meant for kids... they would be gay and stupid.

  • Back then people didnt know the health risks of smokeing and origanally cartoons were for adults not children so they had more drug use, violence, sex appeal and tabacco and alchohol use, and depending which time period racism and racist steryotypes

  • @emo102492

Exactly, "cartoons" from this time were shown before the main feature and during the intermission of a double feature... they were never intended to be watched exclusively by children, they were meant for adults. Most people here in America still see anything animated as cartoons entertainment for children instead of just another medium used to tell a story.

  • Hilarious. If this were an anti-smoking PSA, it would be one of the best ones yet.

  • [.....] Really Scent [1959] Daffy Duck in Hollywood [1938] Each Dawn I Crow [1949] Martian Through Georgia [1962] Life With Feathers [1945] Bugs Bunny Rides Again [1948] Touche and Go [1957] To Duck or Not to Duck [1943] .....and "Butt Out" from Tiny Toons episode, "Life in the 90's". I can't identify the cartoon from the 1:30 to 1:32 mark.
  • The Cartoon from 1:30 to 1:32 is "Wholly Smoke"(1938)

  • Great video. 5 Stars.

  • I surely remember the one from the 30's with Porky and the cigar. Although Sylvester said that he didn't smoke when someone offered him a cigarette in "Little Red Rodent Hood"? Guess smoking was only routine with the characters depending on which cartoon they were in...
