  • I get ready for the Holidays by putting out some decoration, lighting candles and cooking hot cocoa or mulled wine. As the Christmas is approaching, I make a to do list - cleaning, shopping, decorations, gifts, baking... The decoration ideas are in my computer, I like to change them up a bit every year. We have a couple of cookie recipes in the family, that we make every year. I also have a Christmas playlist ready on my YT account, so the music can add to the holiday spirit. I apologize for an

  • Once November rolls around I take out my Christmas folder that I've put together over the years of hosting christmas since I was married. I start with my recipes for making the christmas cake and pudding, then work through my christmas gifts list aiming to have most of them bought by the end of November. Beginning of December I consult my decoration details of what goes where (with photographs taken the previous year just for reference) and then start planning the menus and shoping for Xmas day.

  • I start in November with making a list of the gifts I need to buy for relatives and friends. In addition to the list for gifts I also make a list for the cards that I need to send making sure I have all current addresses for everyone.

  • With hosting Christmas dinner every year, I have to be prepared with all of the cleaning, cooking, and shopping. To have a smooth running and enjoyable evening, I plan everything ahead. For instance, this year we plan on having a seafood dinner so we will be buying the lobster, crab, and shrimp the day before to ensure freshness. Next, I clean like i've never cleaned before, like the walls have to be spot cleaned with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser since my boxers shake their jowls at least 5 times

  • To prep for the holidays I make lists and more lists. It makes it easier to know what to shop for, bake, etc!

  • Hey! One thing that really helps me is to keep a christmas book in which I stick photos and comments about how decorated things. It's so useful to have a referece as to what went down really well and what didn't work so well. Also I can make lists of what more I need to buy for the next year whilst the sales are still on! -LOVE-xx

  • I think the shoe boxes from the contaner store are the best - I keep my craft and holiday items in them as well. I like being able to see inside. I am also going thru my library of Martha Stewart magazines to come up with recipes, especially for baked goods, which I like to give as gifts!

  • I love storage containers at this time of year! I just love opening up a rubbermaid and seeing all the sparkling decorations each year! That's the most helpful organization tip for decor i've found. As far as gifting - I make a chart listing people, gift ideas, items purchased, and money spent to stay on budget. It's really helpful to see it all in one place!

  • Hi Jen,

One thing that really helps me during Christmas is to utilize rubbermaid containers. I keep all of my holiday decorations categorized according to function, and if they will be used indoors or outdoors. It makes decorating super easy... and clean up goes quickly as well!

  • Hi Jen, my family would usually order Christmas package that's inclusive of food 2 weeks before Christmas. No cooking required at home. Christmas tree will be put up one month before Christmas. Basically its a fuss-free Christmas!

  • Hey Jen. I actually just subscribed. Love your channel! The first thing I do to get ready for the holidays is put my front door wreath up and decorate our Christmas tree along to Christmas music :o). This just gets me into the holiday mood and seeing the tree up makes it really feel like the holidays are here. This year I created a holiday binder with tabs that read gifts, menu, decorations, shopping list, and projects. This planner has really helped me to remember things and to keep organized.

  • Hi, normally the 8th of december I put up my X-mas tree with my daughters and I decorate the house. Unfortunately every year I arrive at the 23rd to make the last shopping. :)

I wish you a very merry XMAS :))

  • I start usually shopping in January, which sounds crazy but you get great holiday sales and I buy little things through out the year so its not too much around the actual holiday season. I keep everything in Christmas containers, and have everything listed a Christmas Shopping List App. on my phone, so I always know what I have and what I need. Which includes decorating stuff also.

  • I have a lot of lists not only for the things that should be done, but also different ideas : where to go, what films to watch, what books to read, different holiday games with my daughter, calendar of holiday prep routines, menu and shopping lists for the last few years... Most of them are kept in my computer, so they don't take much space. Thank you for everything you do Jen.

  • I get ready for the Holidays by dragging my tree out of the basement (quite a job its 15' tall) then I go through all of my lights (because there are always some that are dead. Then I spend a day getting my husband to bring up the ladder from the back garage-then comes the fun stuff...going through about 10 totes of decorations and putting them up in a way that looks good with the lights on and off . (not always an easy task) Running out of room here. :( I do baking- starting today.

  • I prep for the holidays by going to Disneyland to get in the Christmas spirit. I then make several lists in my to-do notebook for supplies I need, mailing addresses, and presents to purchase. Then I celebrate Thanksgiving with my family and on Black Friday I go shopping. I wrap my gifts while playing x-mas music. The following week I mail out cards and then put up decorations. Happy Holidays! Best, Michelle

  • To prep for x-mas holiday I purchase my tree a week after Thanksgiving and put it up. Next, I start my shopping and wrap things as I buy them. About 2 days before x-mas I start cooking. On x-max day I go to my family's house and exchange gifts and have dinner. I come home and my grandbrats come to house open their gifts from me and play a little. Finally we put the end to x-mas and they get to eat some of the things I cooked.

  • To prep for the holidays i start off with myself waking up early in the morning, the night before i would have put on a face mask, in the morning i will use my Lumene Time Freeze Instant lift wash off mask to give me that "im awake" energy glow. Why? Cuz i'll be around family and i dont want to put on so much makeup but i still want to look radiant. I will then organize, clean, vacumme and start to complete my "to-do" list =D

  • Well, generally I make a plan and decorate by room. I store my decorations in different coloured boxes for different rooms. I have an old plastic divided container for my ornaments. One thing I try to do every year is get rid of a number of decorative items equal to the number I buy that year - for example, if I but three new pieces this year, then three old ones get re-cycled to a charity shop. That keeps the clutter down, and helps me to really evaluate my purchases carefully.

  • i am probably the most UNorganized person in preparing for the holidays. every year i get a little bit better. but i have no game plan by any means! i try to do the bulk of my shopping online thanksgiving weekend to avoid crazy crowds/lines/terrible parking situations, and i'll wrap things very last minute! but watching your videos i have a mini gameplan brewing for next year!

  • how i prep for the holidays? hmm.. well i usually decorate the tree with my family and we go out and buy eachother presents then wrap them for under the tree :) we get ready for christmas with watching holiday movies, drinking cider and hot chocolate, cookies, and just chill around the house :) sometimes we'll go to our grandparents house and just talk about life and have a really good time.

  • I have a holidays binder I set up. It has a list area for my kids, so when they see something in May they think is sooooo cool, I write it down. Also it has sections for budgets for gifts, gift cards list, coupon spot and reciepts. It is so helpful :)

  • i put up my Chrismas tree with my family and me and my mom bake cookie!

  • Thankfully, I have a fiance who loves Christmas and wants to be involved in the decorating, shopping, baking, and wrapping, so I have a lot of help! :) It has become a tradition to decorate and put up our tree on the first week of December. We then spend the next few weekends doing our Christmas shopping and wrapping. This weekend, we are planning on baking lots of cookies! Having his help makes things so much more enjoyable and less stressful for me. Hope you and Don have a wonderful Christmas!

  • To get ready for the holidays I usually have all my shopping done before December 1st to avoid the crowds. Then on the first weekend in December we get down all the bind from the attic and decorate! I am taking your advise and labeling all bins with what is in them and what room they do to- as well as making a list for what I need next year. Thanks Jen!

  • We have everything stored in labeled bins in our garage& the day after Thanksgiving we go pick out our tree, come back home & take out all labeled bins according to the room & decorate! Then we have the X-Mas lights, inflatables, etc. in labeled bins as well, so then we take those bins out & decorate the exterior of our home! =)

  • I don't have a set routine. I'm so unorganized. Everything is last minute! My goal for the past several years is to be organized. I have found many tips on your channel, thanks.

  • We like to do most of our shopping by dec. 1st. I plan my baking and get whatever can be frozen started in november because I bake a ton of stuff and give it away as gifts. We decorate the tree and house on dec. 1st. We take the kids to the parade every year and we watch Christmas movies all month in December. :) I love christmas!

  • My christmas prep tip is to buy a few extra little presents just in case you get a surprise gift. This means you can avoid the guilt and panic if someone surprises you and you're not prepared!

  • Hey Jen, the first weekend of Dec. we buy the x-mas tree and decorate it, we put x-mas songs to get the mood going, I make hot chocolate & cookies, on the 2nd weekend we go gift shooping and only put the gifts that we buy each other (not Santa gifts lol) under the tree. On x-mas eve the family come to my house to eat dinner, we open the gifts. and my kids put cookies & milk for Santa, the following moning they see what Santa brought them. It is great!!! I have 6 kids so is super fun :)

  • I am decorating the house

  • How I prepare for the Holidays.I start decorating for Christmas on Thanksgiving weekend and every week after that.Because I like adding new Christmas decoration. Is so much fun to decorate. This week I am getting my Christmas menu ready.I have not put my Christmas tree up yet because I am scared of my cats attacking it.

  • I have a lot of traditions when I get ready for the holidays. The week after Thanksgiving we get the lights out-- candles in the windows and colorful lights on the trees. I put out my my nativity set. We go to a local farm and get our tree. My sisters and I host a cookie baking day-- everyone brings a recipe and we bake Christmas cookies all day. We decorate gingerbread houses, go caroling and help with decorating at our church. Oh, and I always start the season off with an advent calendar!

  • I buy gifts, put up the tree, address the cards, and finish wrapping by the end of Thanksgiving weekend. I bake 2 weeks before Christmas. I make puff pastry and phyllo appetizers and freeze them unbaked 1 week before Christmas. I do the chopping and food prep on Christmas Eve. I play carols to drown out the little Grinch voice in my head that appears as exhaustion creeps in. A nap and bubble bath just prior to guest arrival for Christmas dinner is the key to being a pleasant hostess.

  • Hi Jen,

You always manage to cheer me up and inspire me!!

My Holiday Prep is the same each year, on the first weekend in Dec we put up the decorations. All of the presents have been bought and are wrapped on the second weekend in Dec. I make the cards with my little boy and we usually end up inky and full of glitter. :-) Great Fun!! :-)

We always go to My Parents for Christmas Day, and enjoy great food and opening all the presents.

    Have a wonderful Christmas Jen.

    Hugs,

    Michelle xx

  • Oh my gosh Jen your so cute & friendly. I feel like were hanging out whenever I watch your vids.

Thanks for putting them up . I always enjoy them.

  • I prep for the holidays by getting all my gifts together way in advance. I also try to decorate early on.

  • I prep my christmas this year, with 2 important tools! Internet and Laptop. Then I watch some organized gurus like organized Jen!! =) I never know how to get ready so Thank you for all your great ideas!

    Kisses from France

  • I prep for the holidays by gathering gifts I've purchased for family and friends over the last year and taking an inventory. I try to be ahead of the shopping at least so December is not that stressful!

  • I prep for Christmas by first going black friday shopping. Then after a nap the husband and I get all the decor out or storage. I put everything out but we don't decorate the tree until our kids return home and we all decorate the tree together.

  • One thing I do to prep for the holidays is prepare my cookie dough or even bake my cookies early and freeze them so whenever company drops by unexpectedly, I always have

    something on hand.

  • To celebrate christmas all my family meets up and kids and teenagers decorate the trees. The adults decorate the house and in the end we all countdown until christmas and when its officially christmas we all give out our presents.

  • HAPPY HOLIDAY! My favorite new organization discover is hanging the wreaths in a closet on large hangers. I did this because I went to the popular Christmas florist after the holiday and got a couple large beautiful wreaths half off. All of my decorations were already put up so I just hung them. What a great idea! They look just as they did a year ago and don't need any fluff!

  • I begin black Friday shopping for Christmas presents. On december first our house is decorated and our tree is up. We go to my parents house Christmas eve and while the whole family is there put up the family tree. It's a special routine that signifies Christmas is here

  • i prep by going black friday shopping! and picking up gifts, decorating! : )

  • I shop all year round for Christmas gifts. As for decorations I usually start prepping and getting those up early December. The last few weeks before Christmas I get all my presents that I've been gathering for the whole year out to make sure I have everything I need and that I'm not forgetting anyone. The last week I will usually bake, mostly my nanny's meat pies. It brings back such wonderful childhood memories. 60 of us use to have meat pie with ketchup at my nanny's every Christmas Eve.

  • To get ready for the holidays the first thing I do is decorate. I always start like right after thanksgiving. then my niece and I bake TONS of cookies :)

  • To get ready for the holidays, my mom and I decorate the inside and outside of the hosue together. Then my brother and I decorate our own tree with ornaments that we made when we were kids. I am the baker of the family so about 2 weeks before Christmas I bake lots of cookies.

  • Hi Jen! I LOVE this time of year!! I try and prep for the holidays by picking up gifts as I find them no matter what the month and keeping them all in one spot so I know exactly where they are come the holidays. I also keep a list of things I've already purchased so it's easy to see what I still need to get. We store all of our decorations in red and green bins, clearly labeled so it's a breeze to set them up from year to year. I begin making cards and gift tags months in advance. Thank you!

  • Holidays in New York here is almost beautiful. I'm a designer, so I like to concept, design, and handmake my own holiday cards. I'm behind this year! I'm still in the process now. I also like to plan for the new year early on. I've been thinking about getting a filofax. Can't wait to see your filofax video!

  • I love having my house all decked out for the holidays. I have to do it all myself bc my hubby doesn't like to do it. Lol. Its all good, he helps move the big heavy stuff & I just put it all out. Thanks for the giveaway!!!!

  • How I prep for the holidays: I have everything stored in appropriate bins for Christmas - decorations, food packaging (if I have any left over from the previous year that I purchased), and wrapping/accessories. Usually the biggest thing I prepare for is shopping for making Christmas cards, presents & other seasonal supplies and food. I always make Pizzelles, chocolate pretzels, etc. and ship them out to my family that isn't in state with their gift package, so I try to get that done first! :)

  • For our second Christmas together, and our first in my country - Australia - (we met in the UK), my husband and I went out and got a real tree...the warm weather really brings out the lovely smell!! We got some obnoxiously flashy lights for it and have decorated it with my grandparents' decorations as they are going low key!! So nice to be using the decorations I've loved since I was little.... We hung a big star from the ceiling so that it lines up perfectly with the tree, looks great!

  • My husband and I both love preparing the house for the holidays, sometimes I think he likes it more than me. My husband and I will put the tree up and lights on and then the kids will help with ornaments. I love shopping for and wrapping the presents. My favorite decorations to put up are the old santas and reindeer that I have collected.

  • I prepare for Christmas by putting up the tree & decorating the house with my family. Also, every year I buy my mom a new snowman decoration to add to her collection. And then there’s shopping; I’m usually not a big shopper, but I LOVE shopping at Christmas time because I enjoy buying gifts for my family & friends. This year my budget is low so one thing I am doing this week to prepare is making homemade candles to give as part of my gifts (I got the idea from a video by QueenBeeuty).

  • I get ready for Christmas by decorating the house, putting up the Christmas tree, shopping for Christmas gifts, and sending out Christmas cards. I think my favorite part of prepping is wrapping all the gifts in pretty wrapping paper! :)

  • I love this time of the year. I get ready for the holidays in my home by putting up my Christmas tree. I purchase an additional ornament of two each year to add to my collection. I am one of the late Christmas shoppers (I actually haven't started yet) so I enjoy wrapping gifts the week of Christmas.

  • I generally prep for the holidays by putting up the Christmas lights on my front yard, decorating the house, buying the Christmas trees, presents and wrapping up all the gifts. This year is different because I will be spending Christmas and New Year in Italy with my husband and in-laws. I'm super excited because it will be my first Christmas and New Year in Italy, Yay!!!!

  • I get ready for the holidays by first, putting simple decorations like the holly on the door little decorations in the kitchen. Then we have little houses we put on the mantle. Lastly, we put up the tree last and then get presents, wrap, and wait till Christmas!

  • i dont really prep for holidays because my family dont really do anything special:) my family like to go to other neighborhood and watch their decorations XD

  • I prep for the holidays by decorating the house. Im the one in charge of putting up the lights because I like it a particular way. It usually takes me a good 2 half days but after I'm done I feel like I accomplished plenty. I'm basically in cleaning this whole month to get ready.

  • I don't really do a lot for holiday prep. Once I am out of school I help my mum out with the general chores that happen around Christmas xx

  • My husband I are are still trying to figure out our Christmas traditions. We don't have a lot of Christmas decorations yet but we still try and make a day out of it by drinking festive drinks and listening to Christmas music while setting up. I love it! And I can't wait for the day when we get to do it with children.

  • I start out deep cleaning the house right after Thanksgiving. We get our tree sometime during the 2nd week of December. Then we decorate with the kids. Our son is 6 this year, so he is really excited. Our daughter is only 1 so we're still trying to get her to leave the tree alone. We also are usually in the Jingle Bell Parade,Plus we go on the Holiday House Light tour.We always have Christmas class and school parties at my sons school.I absolutely love Christmas and seeing the joy on my kid's faces.

  • First thing we figure out is our budget :) then, we plan vacations, gifts, and dinners accordingly. Some years it can be extravagant and other years very simple. Having a thankful and positive attitude goes a long way...not to mention spending time with family (yes, that includes our dog) and friends

  • My family and I have a tradition of getting our tree the week of my birthday {2nd week in dec.} but I decorate the house right after thanksgiving. Unfortunatly because my husband and I are so busy it often takes us a few days to get the tree up and actually decorate it :-) But when we do...we have mulled cider in hand and xmas music playing in the background. We always try to make it a really special night for the kids!

  • I go into cleaning mode. LOL I move furniture around to prep for having a tree. And we go pick a tree out normally around the first week of DEC. And I am the christmas junky in the home so I decorate for about half a week. Then of course shopping and I do crafts like hand made orinments and I also will get the christmas card list made so I know how many cards to make. So that is how I prepare.

  • I prep for the holidays by using a to do list. We put decorations, shopping, wrapping, and baking on the

  • I put up wreaths on windows, put up tree and other decorations, wrap gifts, and than start baking chritmas Goodies while listening to christmas music... =)

  • I put up our tree and start making christmas candy. I get all the gifts wrapped and put away.

  • I try to do a little bit at a time otherwise it can get overwhelming for me. So I start with outdoor lighting, then the Christmas tree, then various interior decorations and finally I start buying/wrapping presents. it takes couple of weeks, but I start early December so I have plenty of time.

I hope to implement your bin organization system this year so hopefully next year it will be easier!

  • Hi, My holidayprep is not that big this year... Just not feeling to it to be hounest... But we do have a tree...

  • I go on holidays for the last week in Nov and first week in December every year and I buy all my shopping then. It might not seem like a holiday to some people but I love it. It means that when i come home I have everything done. Plus no matter who comes with us me and my Mam always go and we spend that time together! :o) Thanks Jen xxx

  • Hi Jen, great competition, I prepare all year round! I buy gift sets in the January sales for the extended family for next year and then about September pick up stocking fillers and a bit in my grocery shopping every week ready and then I try to wrap everything by December so I can then focus on enjoying the festive season (although there's always some last minute extras to do!). Christmas tree goes up first weekend in December then it's yummy food, mulled wine and christmas songs!

  • Hi Jen, In New Zealand it's getting hotter and more humid every day. I decorate my house in the beginning of December and my daughter decorates the tree. I make lots of lists, and talk to family so we can share the workload around cooking food for the Christmas dinner etc. Lots of bubbles to drink, twinkley lights, christmas music, christmas cards and time to think about family overseas. Preparation is the key to a stressless holiday and festive season.

Best wishes to you, from Jacqui in NZ

  • I always put the tree up right before thanksgiving. I think it's festive to be able to enjoy two holidays with the tree sparkling

  • mom. dad and i lug alll of christmas stuff up the day after thanksgiving we trim the tree all through december, we start baking, to prep new recipes and try them out, we go through all the rooms, cleaning and decorating even our bed and bathrooms :) we blare christmas music all month long and watch all the christmas classics :)

  • ❀❄☆ i start early by putting up my decorations and lights to get everyone in the spirit of the holiday. then i take a night, put on some seasonal music - write out my lists and christmas cards with a nice glass of mulled cider. having myself organized ahead of the holiday rush gives me time to stop and enjoy the moment with my friends and family. oh, and my pup gets her holiday picture taken to put on our cards ☆❀❄

  • I get a tappered white candle and put 12 dots spaced out on the side of it (with red fingernail polish). Each of the 12 nights before christmas, we light the candle and do a family activity while the candle burns down for that day.

  • I make lists upon lists! It's the only way I can prep for this busy time of year.

  • Getting ready for Christmas is easy... :P

I start planning at the ned of November and start revising for my exams for December...

My assessments are right after Christmas D:

Other than that, I would buy a cute little tree and put it in my room from a little while before mid-December. I love redecorating the tree again and again. :P

  • I deep clean my house and do my shopping in November. Set up the tree and decorate the house 1st week of December.

  • Great giveaways! Side note: what kind of pens are those, I would like to buy one myself if I don't win! For holiday prep I like to buy all my gifts before dec. 1st if possible. Christmas tree and devkrations go up dat after thanksgiving. Also my boyfreind and I alternate visiting family each year so we don't entertain at home (sadly). Thanks Jen! -Sarah

  • I have a little notebook with Rudolph on it that I make all my holiday lists in. The different lists I have are: a list of what I've bought for each person, all of the holiday recipes I want to make, my Christmas Day menu, to-do lists, and shopping lists. I've also been trying to add to my decorations a little each year by buying two or three new things each year.

  • Thank you!!!

  • We have all our decorations in clear bins so they all come out of the shelves in the garage. The tree goes up and gets decorated. Then we decorate the outside with lights, holy family set and other tasteful decor. Finally we decorate the kitchen, main bath, and living & family rooms.

As we decorate I make a list of things we need to replace then shop for them after the Christmas season when everything is on clearance.

I shop for presents and wrap them as I buy that way the kids don't find th

  • how I prep for the holidays: I make a list before black friday, and set my budget, then I shop online and black friday for the best deals! I'm pretty much done shopping now :) all thats left to do is bake a ton of cookies!

  • I'm quite crafty, and so I love making my Christmas presents for friends, family and coworkers. I begin right after Christmas to knit, crochet or sew, gifts for the next year. I make one of a kind collage tags for the scarves. I sell the extras and send the profits to my favorite charity.Since not all the guys want scarves or hats, I cook up lots of hot fudge sauce for ice cream and put that in canning jars with plaid homespun bows.

  • Oops.....I don't start decoration until around the last week of November.

  • The way I prep for the holidays is I look at different decorating/cooking I ideas ahead of time and make a list of new things I would like to do. Then I take everything out of storage and make lists of things I made need to purchase. I do all this usually after I have put all my Hallowe'en decorations away. I live in Canada, so our Thanksgiving is in October. I don't start decoration u

  • My main way to prep for the holidays as I get older is to try not to get stressed and just do what I can do. Im pretty pleased that I have almost all my shopping done...pretty early for me. I've started to decorate the house and hope to finish this week. I'll wrap gifts closer to Christmas usually all at once. I still need to make my Christmas cards as well but I'm trying not to set deadlines that would stress me out. I want to enjoy whatever I can get done and not worry about the rest. :)

  • I'm younger, so I mostly help my parents. My mother and I both a crazy organized freaks (: We have to have a list of all the decorations along with the order to put up our tree. We are the ones to go through and make sure everything is ready. We love to make lists with all teh things we need to get for the season and so on (:

  • Hello Jen.

I am 19 so I don't really gear up for the holidays as far as preparing my home or anything, but this holiday is different. My family is taking a trip out of the country for Christmas and my birthday so I will be writing lists and rewatching your packing videos!

  • I basically pepare for the holidays by writing lists. Lists for gifts, food shopping, decoration and so on. Every year I start decorating the apartment around December 1st and our tree is being put up at the 23rd of December. My preparation also includes trying to get the buying of gifts out of the way. I try to start as early as possible to avoid shopping malls these busy days before Christmas :)

  • I wish I was as organized as I would love to be for the Holidays, unfortunately it usually comes down to the week or two before and I run around to get everything done at once (shopping, cleaning, decorating). It may be due to the fact that I work best under pressure? Anyone's guess is as good as mine. This year is a bit different because I will be hosting a Holiday party, but in general I'm a 'last minute Lisa' as opposed to a 'negative Nancy'. Happy Holidays everyone!

  • I get ready for the holidays with a similar system to your's. I have clear containers, clearly labeled with all of my holiday decorations/ornaments/lights/wrapping paper. I keep them all in my guestroom closet and take everything down around the first weekend in December. My cleanup is super easy too...which is important because I loathe putting up Christmas decorations- such a sad occasion!

  • The biggest way I prep for the holidays is by making tons of lists. I make lists of people I have to buy presents for, what presents I need to buy them, decorations I need to buy, and daily to-do lists. I love lists! They help me stay on track of everything I need to do, and make sure everything goes smoothly. Lists help me not to stress, and that makes the holidays so much more enjoyable :)

  • I buy gifts year round, not just Christmas time. I avoid long lines and crowds, plus it is easier on my wallet:) I love all your videos Jen!!

  • I make lists for stocking stuffers, and go through all of my wrapping pappers, ribbons, and make sure I have enough supplies early so when I go to wrap everything I am organized and have everything I need:)

  • I prepare by making a list of all the people I need to get presents for and making sure I get them early!

  • I'm a college student so I don't do a whole lot of prep which is kinda sad ): But back when I lived with my parents, we would put out the tree and decorate it (which our one cat loved to try and eat the tree! eep!) and then put out little Christmas decorations around our kitchen and family room. But here in my college house I put out a little pink Christmas tree and that's the end of that. I live with three guys, so they could care less about decorating!

  • Hi Jen! This is to do with buying Christmas presents, I save my name list of family and friends so I can go through it next year so I don't miss anyone, the list also has the gift I bought them and the cost just so I can estimate if needed and buy different things or get ideas for gifts for someone else. Also writing the list on a pretty sheet of paper makes me happy! :)

  • I start my Holiday prep in March! I make a list of who I will be buying for and their budget... when I receive my tax return I put the total amount away in a separate bank account, that way threw out the year when I find good deals on gifts it does not mess with the rest of my monthly budget. This is my third year using this method and it is amazing there is absolutely no financial stress on my family during the holidays!

  • I would pull out the tree, decorate it & then I would put up some decorations around the living room where the tree was. We tend to keep decorations simple since we tend to leave the tree & decorations up until after Chinese New Year which usually happens around the end of January early February

Aside from decorating, I love wrapping gifts! I even wrap up empty boxes that stay under the tree so there's still something visually there after gifts were open!

This makes me miss my family.........

  • I prep for the holidays by decorating my home with Christmas decorations and several Christmas trees the day after Thanksgiving that way I have an entire month to enjoy the decorations! I also like to get my holiday shopping done early so I can ejoy the holiday season without any added stress.

  • Oops I meant to say get as much done in advance as possible.

  • I only try and two things. 1 try and make things as stress free as possible. Knowing that things won't be perfect and I'm fine with that. 2nd try and get as much in advance as possible.

  • First of all, Megan writes her letter to santa! And we put it by the chimney so that it gets delivered to Santa. Then its my turn to go through the decorations and decide what scheme i am doing for that year. I then make a list on what i need to shop for. Obviously i have to clean everything. Then i put on my christmas music and spend the day decorating with megan!! Have soo much fun as its magical for Megan. Wishing everyone a happy christmas!

  • I prep for the holidays by decorating my entire room with all christmasy decortations :) love this time of year! Every year on the 1st of December i put up my christmas tree with the family in the living room and then put tinstle around my bedroom and my PINK mini christmas tree up :) its soo much fun!

  • I prep for the holidays with early shopping and lists. I make a 'master' list with all gift receiver names on it and their 'wish list' under each name. I cross off items once purchased. Also, if we have set a dollar amount per person I keep a running total so I know where we stand. I do this on Word on my computer and update yearly and change the file name each year. And of course there is the holiday decorating must have 'to do' list!

  • I always do my shopping pretty early. I celebrate Hannukah so of course I decorate the whole inside of my house. and every year I pick a day and I spend the entire day baking and I package up all the goodies and give them to friends and family.

  • So how I get ready for holidays is doing my christmas shopping early. So the last week of October they send out the big toy books. I get the Sunday paper and look at all of them. Then pick out items I want to get my son(Plus he looks at them now & picks things out now too). So I make a list of all the toys then go online to Walmart, Target, & Toys R Us to see where I can get the best deals. I also print out any coupons. Then go out and shop the 2nd week of November. This is the 3rd year.

  • On Thanksgiving Day,,, Turkey will be eaten, cleaning up will be done. Before midnight, our Christmas tree is up, outdoor and indoor decorations are done and we're ready for our Black Friday shopping.

  • My favorite part is decorating the tree. My tree has all hallmark "kid-themed"ornaments. Each year my girls get the new hallmark "Barbie" and "Barbie shoe tree" ornam. My son also gets to choose1 ornament. I keep my them in a clear cabinet, so the kids can enjoy them year round. They love looking at them plus it's a fast way to decorate and organize. While decorating the house, we wear our christmas hats and play christmas music.

  • i love the holiday season so i spend a lot of time in advance thinking about which gifts to buy for each person:) i keep notes for gift ideas and when i come across something really fun, i'll buy it:) right now i'm on erasmus in Greece so i want to take a lot of souvenirs with me when i go back for christmas. i can't prepare a lot at the moment as i'm not even at home untill the 23rd... i love watching your videos btw! xx

  • how i prep for the holidays is lists! its the only way i keep sane. i make a list with every persons name on it that i have to get a gift for saying next to the person what i am getting for them and once i get the item then i highlight over the name so i know that they are done. also once i get the gift i wrap it, that way no little eyes can see what they are getting.

  • how i prep for the holidays is right after black friday we go shopping and get decorations for the tree and that weekend we decorate the tree with the family and we wrap our gifts in separate rooms. and put it under the tree ;)

  • Happy Holidays :)

  • Here in Norway we dont put up and decorate the christmas tree before the 23rd of December (max a couple of days before), so the weeks before christmas we bake all the traditional christmas cookies and cakes, buy and wrap presents, visit relatives and such :) I always start getting ready for the holidays early, so I can enjoy and relax during the month of December and enjoy the holiday season ^^

  • first we celebrate my daughters birthday on dec. 22 then the next day we go get our tree and decorate the house. we keep the tree up until Russian Christmas Jan 7th the kids would pick a name off the angle tree from church and would help pick out a gift for a boy or girl. its been 32 years now they live out of state but they do come home every year I will be a grandma this June so I' m looking forward to starting new traditions with my kids and there family's best wishes to you and yours :)

  • Hi,,, I begin getting ready for the holidays early I Have three boys and try to make a list of things like looking at all the lights buying the presents,, then buying all the food for the parties and the christmas dinner.... We have a big christmas dinner on christmas eve....\

  • I get ready by decorating, planning on a meal, inviting everyone over and of course on the day making sure that everyone looks great and has fun.

  • In Portugal most of the people decorate the tree on the first of December (It's Holliday in here), and I like to have a few presents to put under the tree in that day. But I really like to make my Christmas shopping lists (I actually use my Filofax to do that) and by the rest of the presents in December, to feel the Christmas spirit in the stores.

  • i love all these stationary as prizes woo :)

  • i just organise my finances!!

  • Hi Jen! Preparing for & being able to enjoy the holidays to the fullest is a skill honed over many yrs. @ least for me. I like to do all my shopping online if possible, largely on Amazon. I try to get it done by e/o Nov., first wk of Dec.@ the latest, so I can njoy Dec & just focus on cleaning, getting the tree, decorating & wrapping. I can feel that Christmas spirit starting to build. Thanks for having the contests & give aways! ♥

  • I get ready for the holidays quite early. Because me and my hubby live in a tiny appartment, we don´t decorate it with anything special, we don´t even have a Christmas tree! BUT, I buy presents for my friends and family as early as september. This sets me to the christmas mood instead of decorating:)

  • How I prepare for the holidays

    1: Lists

    2: Stay relaxed and happy

3: Most of all have FUN !

  • I get ready to holidays; I decorate my house bake gingerbreads and just be happy :) yay

  • I prepare for the holidays by becoming as relaxed as possible. For work I'll bring some of my favorite teas and lavenderscented handcream, and at home I'll put out candles and spend time with the family, making up different flavoured christmas drinks. That way, when christmas comes around, everyone can share the favorite recipes with friends and relatives :) The key word here is relaxing and enjoying the little things. I prepare by not becoming a overworked wreck with too high expectations :)

  • How I get ready for the Holidays. Gifts:I like to buy gifts for my loved ones since November,so I'm not in a hurry to find the perfect gift later on.I pay attention to what they may like/need and when I got the gifts, I like to wrap/hide them in a safe place, so nobody finds them.Decorations:in Italy, as a tradition, we start on the 8th of December.I personally like to put little touches of Christmas all around my house,on doors, handles, mantlepiece, windowsills.Baking:lots of cookies and desserts

  • I get ready for the holidays by decorating and wearing things that are Xmas and make a list for what I'm gonna give to my family and friends.

  • How I get ready for the holidays: I do my shopping and planning in November. I deep clean my house and then set up my Christmas decor.

  • I always carry a little notepad in my purse so that when I hear someone say that they would like to have something; I secretly make a note about it. I also try to include notes about things that they love such as a certain type of coffee, makeup, or any kind of product. That way when the holidays roll around it makes buying gifts a lot easier. Sometimes I will make a gift basket or stuff a stocking with some of their favorite things and include some of my favorites also.

  • How I get ready for the Holidays: I do deep cleaning before i start decorating. I plan, so I write everything I would like to do etc and set a budget and start looking out for sales and couponing and map out the day for the holidays and start decorating and organized. I tried that this yer and stuck to it and I realized my house was not a tonado and my family members loved!!! it!!! p.s. I always make sure i do somthing special for the kids as well (they are the focal point)

  • I make a list of all my family and friends I am shopping for, write my limits and have a separate list of ideas for gifts. I do all my Christmas shopping at the beginning of November and wrap everything so that I'm more relaxed for the month of December. I decorate my tree with my toddler on Dec.1st and put up other decorations with him.

  • Hey Jen! I get ready for the holidays by stocking up with lots of wrapping paper early on. I also try to get my Christmas lights up in November while the weather is still decent, and wait until December to turn them on!

  • I make sure to get all my gifts in November, so that way I have all of December for wrapping and last minute items. I also purchase a good majority of my gifts online because I've found that there are better deals (I do a lot of hunting on Google for coupon codes! ;) )

  • I get ready for the holidays by making all my homemade Christmas cards for everyone and pulling out my Christmas Tree on "Black Friday"

  • i always buy new christmas decorations, wrapping paper etc after christmas when it is on sale and pack it away. so for decorating and such i dont have any prep work. christmas shopping starts whenever i find something that i like and usually start wrapping first week in december and the tree goes up first or second weekend in december.

  • i make a lot of lists so i write lists of what i have to do. if im shopping throughout the year and i find something that would be a great present i buy it and put it away so i have less presents to buy at the end of the year.

  • I start Wrapping presents day after thanksgiving!! So all of my prep happens in early november i check my paper stock and shop for what i need around the second week in november so im ready to wrap!!

  • I am a huge list maker! I make lists for everything; shopping, cooking, cleaning etc. then I re- do them along the way as things are done. I also put time lines by when each thing needs to be completed, usually I get done early! Georgia dgmans76@msn.com

  • Wrapping prep is huge because I have a large extended family. I live with my parents during the holidays (college student) and I always buy my own paper, ribbons, etc. so they are surprised. I have to hide everyone's present in my tiny tiny room, which is a handful. I actually clean out one of my dresser drawers and store my clothes in a suitcase under my bed so I have the storage space! I also only put my presents under the tree xmas eve, so it is an even bigger surprise.

  • Getting ready for the holidays I begin the day after Thanksgiving I put away all my fall

decorations and then bring out my Christmas decorations being sure to start with my large

collection of snowmen. I always start with them because they are what gets me in the Christmas spirit. I label all my storage containers making sure the snowmen bins are the last to go into the attic so that they are the first to come down. My kitchen also gets treated with snowmen plates, mugs, canisters, mugs & towels.

  • To get in the holiday spirit I put up all my decorations in my room, listen to Christmas CDs/ music and use christmasy/ winter things like notepads or bodywash. I also love to start planning what gifts we(my family) and I will donate for less fortunate children. I love imagining how they will react Christmas morning when they see Santa left them toys this year.

  • I'm extremely obsessed with organisation, I usually start buying presents 4 months before Christmas. I tend to start writing lists in August and ticking them off as I buy the gifts. I always end up with way more presents than I intended to buy however haha! My loft has all of our Christmas decorations organised into different box's so it's pretty simple decorating the house, I know where everything is. They all go up on the 1st of December. The house looks the best at this time of year!! :D

  • I get in ready in November by budgeting and saving up for the December holidays.

  • To get ready for the holidays I first to a major cleaning of the house, and make sure all my organizational projects are effective. While doing this I take down all my fall decorations and put them away in their labeled totes and containers. Then I pull out all the holiday decorations from their labeled homes and systematically decorate outside first, and then each room inside. It's not incredibly original, but it works! :)

  • To get ready for the holidays I first like to make a list of all the items I want to get people for Christmas. As I buy these items I cross them off on my list. Every person I buy for gets their own wrapping paper so I know what presents go to who. Everyone also has their own plastic tote container. These containers allow me to keep track of all the purchased items and after they are all wrapped I can grab the containers as I go to drop them at the appropriate houses.

  • We decorate the house the second after Thanksgiving dinner is over. Then I begin to make the lists of gifts for my friends and family. And of course since I am great at procrastination I don't actually shop until like 1 to 2 weeks before Christmas! :)

  • I prep for the holidays the year before! I keep list and organized bins for every holiday ornament or decoration that I have. Recipes with pictures, holiday music, season candles and list of wishes are all ready to go. I keep Christmas cards organized to the point of even putting return address labels and stamps on the envelops a head of time so when they are ready to mail it only takes a few minutes to get done. This makes me feel so stress-free and fully available to my family.

  • I have always used rubbermaid totes for decorations. Last year at the end of the holiday season I found some green/red totes to make it easier for finding decorations for Christmas. Last year I laminated my instructions for putting together my Christmas tree. To make putting the tree up quicker I use twine and tie together all of the b section branches and so on and so forth. I lay them out in the order in which they are to be set up so that way they go up easier. Hope this helps someone.

  • After Thanksgiving I start to clean my apartment and then take out Christmas decoration and start to decorating. When I buy gifts for people I start writing peoples names on a list and think/brain storm what I should give them. When I do buy the gifts, I come home and start wrapping so it is done, and then I check their names off from the list. That's pretty much it.

  • I have a Christmas 3 ring binder that helps me stay organized during the holidays. I have one sheet that has the person name and thier wish list. With the children I get them to write down 10 things they would like for christmas. They do not recieve all of them I only pick there top ones. The rest I give to family. On another sheet in my binder I have address for christmas cards.A Calendar with important dates and party's.Last but not least a sheet with the ideas of the food I will be prepareing

  • I have a holiday binder/planner that I keep all my info in. It has a wish list for items I find I want or need next year as well as a section to give away items I don't need anymore to women in distress center or goodwill. It keeps me up to date on what I have and where I want to put things. Along with my binder I use holiday containers so I can find all my items. Happy Holidays Jen.

  • My method is simple. I pull out my Rubbermaid bins labeled Christmas. Put up the tree and decorations; usually the first weekend in December. When the party time at home arrives, I make a list of the baked goods I want to make, go shopping, and bake. Leftover treats always go to my significant other's office. For party time away from home, I usually go shopping for a new outfit a few weeks before or decide upon something already in my closet. For now that's about it. Nice and simple. :)
