  • The weapons you’re using

    are hurting me bad.

But someday you’re going to retreat.

    Cause my love baby

is the truest you’ve ever had.

A soldier of love that’s hard to beat.

Esta canción me gustaría cantarsela a mi Gordita para que baje sus "armas" y podamos volver a estar juntos...

  • es una buena voz.. para el rock clasico!

  • muero por esta cancion...!!!!!!!!

  • une merveille fabulus merci

  • check out The Milkshakes version of Soldiers of love! According to me, the best one.

  • Siempre tiene que salir el típico que compara versiones y original. ¿Sabes tío? The Beatles are DEAD... Fuck you.

  • "Soldier Of Love" - THE SILVER BEATS

  • grandioso eddie

  • this version is awesome. definately not eddies best hair though.

  • Relax. It's a difference of opinion. No need to name call.

  • @PavaoPaul

    Hey, suck my dick,

  • i love pearl jam

  • NOTHING! It's awesome

  • His voice is simply perfect, connected to the song, one of those I love most deeply.

There are few singers in the world who have a tone colour absolutely unique.

I can tell some names: Bono, Sting (although Paul Meany's voice, from Mutemath, is very similar), Cat Stevens, Paul Weller and Eddie Vedder ;)

    Great song. Great band

  • Don't forget Layne Staley. possibly the most copied voice in music ever

  • this music is one of the best musics off all the world!

  • a melhor deles, boa demais !

  • Rogers Revolutuion...The band has sold in excess of 60 million albums and you think his voice sucks? I beleive you are just a simple hater. This is an amazing group of musicians and an incredible privelage to have in our life time.

  • It's not a beatles song, its originally by Arthur Alexander. Do some research even google the song next time!

  • Thats because he ain't drunken ... Tell you the truth, The man sounds hell alot much better when he's drunk or high !

  • chubby eddie... ;) he's great.

  • Why his face is so "full" here, who knows. Medication? But his body's def''ly not chubby. He couldn't be more slender, or attractive in his excellent Dylan cover- "Masters of War", for instance. "Chubby Eddie"??

  • Typical spammer dipshit. Go fuvk yourself acehole.

  • this song makes me want to kiss Eddie.. a lot!

    oh realy??

imho no, i love pearl jam,but this is only cover, not bad but. john and paul was better singers....

  • @5timesuperbowl no cover is better than the original. at least not the covers coming from songs older than the 90's

  • @Burgerphile

    opinion. ever heard of it?

  • @Knightgil of course. and that was my opinion. their cover is very good. but not better than the beatles.

  • @5timesuperbowl Fuck You! It's spelt Beatles also!

  • @5timesuperbowl

    Beetles? :'D

    LOL

  • @5timesuperbowl Learn to spell The Beatles moron.

  • @5timesuperbowl Fuck you!

  • omg, eddie eddie eddie eddieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • GAZZAB!!!!

  • i lo ve this song

  • This was a song originally by an R&B artist from the 50's named Arthur Alexander. It was a popular cover for the Beatles in their early club day, lead vocals taken by John Lennon as someone had mentioned in a comment on here earlier. Im sure Veder heard this through the Beatles as most of us have. It wasn't until i heard the Beatle's versions of old R&b tunes that i've come to know the original artists like Alexander, Chuck Berry and Carl Perkins ect.. Beatles version is my fav though!

  • This is great. I've heard this one first on the 1998 christmas single and it's done in a much lower note, and still I think both versions are awesome. I cannot get enough of this guys..

  • I like this song!!!!!

  • was this originally John Lennons song? I feel like I've heard it before..?

  • This song can be heard being performed by John Lennon and the rest of the Beatles on Live at the BBC. But I think they were just doing a cover version themselves. I don't know who originally performed it. I like both Lennon and Eddie Vedders' rendition though (and don't think I have ever heard the original).

  • man... they are good live.

Listening to this music makes me think how lame some concerts are today, that song is just great!

  • me and my mom were on a plain and sat next to this lady who said her husband created the song and sold it to all these famous musicians. she was really cool

  • this is the best song ever!

  • "I Agree" Concordo, esse som vicia.

  • i'm addicted to this song

  • I saw them when they come to mexico, especifically to monterrey at auditorio Coca Cola, I almost cry, nevertheless I'm MUY MACHO

  • Eddie vedder is always the best

  • rad

  • Tavo-I do not know where you can find the cd, but years ago I bought a vhs tape with 2 hours of performances over a couple days at the bridge school: I recall watching this particular performance on the tape I bought. The best song was 'I shall be released'-it's a beautiful song oringinally by Dylan and it's eddie vedder, neil young, and other icons in music and the crowd really gets into it when eddie sings-it's one of my all time favorites-you should check it out...

  • i like this version of the song a lot

  • Does anybody knows where can i find this CD? ther is one with this song and The Lass Kiss. Help me please!

  • the album with the two of them is called no boundaries and is available on amazons marketplace. Fantastic album well worth a purchase

  • haha, dude you're ignorant as hell, beatles didn't make this song, Arthur Alexander did. he's the only one that does the song justice, but I do like a lot the Pearl Jam version too. so stfu and listen to what you like and stop being an asshole posting stupid comments like that.

  • eddie is the best singer of the world! stop

  • lmao @ better than the beatles. Yeah right. You people don't deserve ears.

  • better than beatles actually

  • Essa é show... Da antiga...

  • wow

to the kid who said eddy is a terrlible singer

u have to be kidding me

please dude get up there and do that .

when i die i hope i hear this voice all the time

    ignorant dick

  • As a matter of fact I have sung this song and I can sing it better than this. But who cares. Doesn't change the fact that this just ain't his song. I heard some of his stuff in the movie Into The Wild and that was much better. I don't know why so many of you are too up his ass and immature to just accept that there are those who have other opinions and they are no less valid than yours. In fact they're more valid since they don't have your bias

  • Very well said. Cool. Cool. Although, I MUST interject that this certainly isn't PJ's prime version of Soldier of Love. I subject you to /watch?v=Hf-bw4q6Pew... I think that will win you over ;)

  • I checked it out. I think they are comparable. Between the 2

I might like this version better, the instrumentation is more understated. That said, compared to the other versions by other artists, this is the least impressive.

  • I sing it better to. We all sing it better when we don;t have proof, dont we?

  • hey bro if u can sing better than him then plz post some of ur video really wanna c..if u cant then shut the fuck off.its easier said tht done ...respect the talent..we all knw tht this guy is gr8 singer..might not be the best but he is legend..and whether u like it or not u have to respect legends..peace

  • Your list of legends only includes those of the far off past. I can only assume by this that you have a very narrow scope of musical appreciation. Thus, your words hold no sway. Pearl Jam is amazing, and I can guaruntee they'll be in the Hall of Fame when the time comes. Ben Harper, the living legend, has called Pearl Jam the "greatest band alive".

Open your scope of appreciation, there's a lot of good shit out there that you are discounting without investigating.

  • Ben Harper the living legend. This is part of what's wrong, IMO, with pop culture, we continuously elevate mediocrity to brilliance, not yet time tested popularity with legend. You want to dismiss my opinion, who cares? Certainly not me. You know absolutely nothing of my musical appreciation and frankly you couldn't possibly comprehend it. TO ME, Ben Harper, who I enjoy, is no more a living legend or impressive authority on anything other than his own taste, than PJ, the greatest band alive.

  • You're cute when you try to say something intelligent but utterly fail. Lets be friends, maybe you can lick my balls or something.

In one comment you say Veddr is not a legend and in the next you call the term "legend" subjective. Make up your mind.

Time tested popularity? Pearl Jam didn't just pop on the scene; they've been around for nearly two decades now. They shouldn't have to be dead to be appreciated.

  • FTR, you have no idea what I am investigating. My comments here are about is vocals on this song, which frankly suck. Beyond that, others who can't handle my opinion have opened it up to lofty ambitions of things like legend. And if you too consider this legendary, I would say it is you who needs to open yourself to the brilliance that is out there, and also gain some critical listening skills.

  • all u motha fuckas...listen, if a band or a particular person in this band is considered a legend by the majority of its fans then it is a legend, who are u to TRY and brake down the meaning of the word legend into something that doesnt mean shit to the rest of us, go take your over thought and lame ass opinions and shove them up ur ass

  • Hey clueless, FANS don't make legends, a broader acceptance and recognition outside of a FAN base does. For example, you might not like or appreciate Alfred Hitchcock, but if you were to say that he wasn't a legend, you would simply be showing your ignorance. Oh wait, that's what you just did.

    I'll define anything I like.

  • this was mine and my ex boyfriend's song. he had dedicated me before we were even a couple.

    now, i miss those times.

and i'm still in love with this song :)

  • Jeez, you need to get over it. Maybe he's good at something, but he sucks here in my opinion...which for the record is as valid as anyone elses. Go listen to the versions I mention and you'll hear what I mean. Mindless sycophants.

  • Good cover. Pearl Jam also did a good cover of "Last Kiss."

  • It's actually not too bad, especially the music... I've gotten into the habit of making fun of the fact that every male singer in todays music scene sounds like a cross between Eddie Vedder and the Cookie Monster. ...Forgetting of course that Eddie was good, it's just the copycats that make me want to go postal.

  • I prefer the Beatles!

    (Eu prefiro os Beatles!)

  • you are a big cunt, aren´t you?

  • I can explain everything that a think, ok?!

  • His voice is so lousy...the end when he is trying to cut loose is just painful. The original by Arthur Alexander, of course The Beatles cover and the Marshall Crenshaw Lennonesque version all blow this away. The instrumentation is ok though, and I appreciate the sentiment. But Eddie V has got to go. Terrible singer.

  • eddie's voice is lousy? F@#k you!!!! on behalf of all die hard pj fans. F@#k you!!

  • Here here!

  • stupid moron! hes the greatest! no one kan improvise like he does

  • you suck

  • the best

  • Wow a great cover...not on the level of the original or the beatles cover (got to love the harmonies on that one) but still great. They have such suprising and great taste in music. Really cool. Thanks.

  • When vedder sing any music , the music stay better then it was before.

  • vedder got a bit chubby, reminds me of jim morrison and how he blew up near his death.

  • Yeah! But he has lost the weight, and is still singing his AZZ OFF!!! A true "living legend!!"

  • Man, what a great cover! I've never heard this version before. Glad I found this!

  • men you have a problem with your ears. Eddie is one of best vocals ever heard. With all my respect to Lennon and McCartney voices but they are far from Ed's.

  • you're kidding, right?

  • would like to see this Eddie sing Live and Let Die like Paul, or any other of his songs for that matter

  • like axl rose did,..c'mon bro your in vedder denial, theres medication for that shit..

  • eh? he cant even hold a note for more than 2 seconds ...

  • axl rose SUCKS BALLS! whitethrash loser. met him once. the biggest loser i ever met. axl voice sounds like he drinks pee

  • I'd have to say the best version is the original by Arthur Alexander. This is a great version, though. Pearl Jam has some amazing covers. Arthur Alexander, Otis Redding, The Who, Victoria Williams, etc.

  • Eddie's so versatile. I bet he sung this better than the beatles did

  • Oh baby lay down your arms...and love me peacefully..

  • Yeah, The Beatles did sing it first

  • very good song...

  • i think the beatles sang it

  • This was written/sung by Sheffield, Alabama`s best...pioneer country-soul singer, songwriter, the late-Arthur Alexander. Alexander has been covered by the Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Humble Pie, Ry Cooder, Joe Tex, etc etc etc. Eddie RULES!!

  • pearl jam la mejor banda del mundo

  • I think my favorite version is 07/03/03 in Mansfield

  • i prefer this song from poland 16.06.00

    it's better than this

  • Pearl Jam sing it very well

i like the beatles doing this one too

  • i love soldier of love of pearl jam!

    thank!

  • Muy buena cancion ! saludos desde argentina !

  • Eddie you are a great singer!

  • thanks

  • excelente cancion, excelente banda

  • ♥

  • muy bueno.gracias

  • An oldie but a goodie.

  • fucking amazing
