  • reading the book

    IT'S SOOOOO GOOD

    <3

  • Japanese were as evil as Nazis.

They abducted 200,000 Asians (& Caucasians), raped them up to 50 times a day & then buried them alive to save bullets.

*Japanese govt won't apologize to any of the surviving sex slaves.

EVEN NOW, it sugercoats this by outrageously lying that the victims were whores who volunteered to service Japanese soldiers & received great treatment & even bigger salary than Japanese army generals from Japanese govt.

  • the beginning of this movie was sad /; but then later on it gets interesting

  • Absolutely love this movie.

  • the book was AWESOME

  • @marakiapla1 there's a book ??

  • @loverchicksful of course! by tatiana de rosnay.. the trailer by itself says '' from the beloved novel''

  • @loverchicksful yes. its amazing

  • @loverchicksful the boos is fantastic! but sad :(

  • @marakiapla1 The book was sad :(

  • But why Hitler did this will be a misery forever. :-(

  • I forgive Hitler for his hatred of the Jews and all of you should but why Hit

  • @bethmcadams ikr. I believe that it was mostly all of the shit he went through.

  • Sarah is such a great actor in this sad and heartbreaking film. I have heard the book is good so m going to read it.

  • I cried so hard when she found her dead brother.

  • @bethmcadams SPOILER ALERT!

  • It was scary at first but I loved the movie.

  • The acting kinda sucked here and there in this movie. I couldn't lose myself in it because of that.

I love Aidan Quinn but I think his casting in here wasn't right.

On the whole, IMO, it was meant to be a tearjerker because of the ordeal of the people in WWII. The script could have been better.

  • i cried so hard when she opened the closet. and when she got in front of the truck.

  • i read the book, and i cried. i have not seen the movie and i think that i am not going to. it's so touching

  • the music is so beautiful and the film too

  • This is seriously one of the best movies I have ever watched... ever. I'm going to buy this. I'm also going to buy the book so I can read that. This movie was amazing, I can only imagine how great the book will be. Books are always better. Just wow. This movie gets so many thumbs up I can't even begin to count that high.

  • I saw this it's really good!

  • I didn't know they made this into a movie. Seriously, I was in tears reading the book.

  • @silvertear Why is any book turned into a movie? Books might force us to make use of our imagination more and make a deeper impact, but they are not as accessible as books are. And yes, there is always the financial incentive of turning a popular book into a movie.

  • @TejasM14 I'm sorry, I didn't realize I asked a question. Anyways, I think books are made into movies, to pretty much encourage a person who would have not picked up the book, but after watching the movie they might wonder what they missed with the movie. I think books turned into a movie is the hope that a person can fall in love with the written word.

  • i'm going to watch this since the book was just AMAZING.

  • /watch?v=Y5tsYR0AYJQ

    that ones WAY better

  • Amazing story. Loved this movie.

  • hey...do you know where i can find the music for this trailer? i want to get it on my ipod but i cant find the song anywhere :(

  • saw this today. Pretty darn good

  • @dj69918 it wasn't meant to be clever, it was meant to be a kind ending to a debate that can and has gone on for countless years. Do you know what kindness is?

  • didnt they make zoe???

  • Japanese were as evil as Nazis.

They abducted 200,000 Asians (& Caucasians), raped them up to 50 times a day & then buried them alive to save bullets when they became ill.

  • Such a powerful book and movie! The girl who plays Sarah is an amazing actress. Read the book over the summer and watched the movie about an hour ago. I can't stop thinking about it. Which shows just how great this movie is.

  • i cried 5 minutes in and couldn't stop. it IS the book. they did a great job.

  • why the concern about the past, this government is commiting atrocities at the present time that need addresssing, government s all accros should be held accountable for every incident they are involved in. government insistt it is not accountable for its errors. that is atrocitos. how about police manking theselves benefactors of stolen property, isnt that a conflict of interst,? doesn t that in effect projote crime? where would there incintive to perform a needed function for people

  • This film tells what happened to us, the Jews at this time, an amazing film!

  • ...definitely a chick flic...thanks for the warning ladies.

  • this is the most amazing movie i have ever seen and i cried through like the whole thing:)

  • great movie....with a very powerful story

  • I HAD NO IDEA THAT THIS WAS A MOVIE

  • @Mads627 Same! I read the book, and my teacher just told me about the movie! I loved the book! One of my favorites!

  • it's playing in Niagara On The Lake, Ontario at the renowned shaw festival theatre on Dec 10th at 11 am :)

my moms friend converts the theatre every winter into a movie theatre and our litle town gets treated to the best movies in the world... having read this book i'm assuming the film will be spectacular! i've waited for years for this to be a movie! if you live near Niagara, come watch! i believe it's $10 and the experience is quite unique.

  • Just rented it from Redbox. Excellent. Even the hour long(!) "Making Of" featurette.

  • @localcrew Thats funny! I also got it from Rebbox. I had been looking for it for a while. I was looking through their movies when i saw it and could not believe it. It was an amazing film and very inspirational! Im going to recomend it to everyone I know.

  • i read this book when i was younger, it was amazingg

  • dj69918 is your typical ignorant libtard. Instead of debating the facts, he retreats to "english" which in my book is "English", only to get defeated again. But if I do take "english", it won't be at a subpar overspending liberal indoctrination camp, it will be at a private school where his liberal elitist masters send their kids – with ours. Sanger worshipping dj69918 schooled on English and retreats on killing more human life than his hero Stalin.

  • @MoBushin04 How about directing your comments ABOUT me, TO me. I didn't debate facts because you didn't debate any facts you retard. In both your comments so far you've called me a fascist, a libtard, an elitist and you compared me to Hitler and Stalin. You are the epitome of an ignorant dickhead. The only thing you said that wasn't a personal attack was that Native Americans sold most of their land. Which is the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard in my entire life.

  • @dj69918 Again, you are slow libtard dj, so I will say it slower:

    1) it's English, not english. Only a libtard calls it "english".

    2) you can't argue abortion because libtards are too stupid to know when they were a human life.

    3) Stalin and Hitler killed 32 million people; your values have killed 40M fascist!

    4) google "indians sold manhattan" and learn

    5) most 7th graders understand these facts, but you are a libtard and can't.

you have not & will not dispute anything I write. OWNED!

  • @MoBushin04 You are incorrect in every conceivable way.

    1. You're criticizing the fact that I didn't capitalize the "E" in English, yet you haven't written a grammatically correct sentence so far.

    2. I have not now nor have I at any point said anything about abortion.

    (you fucking retard)

    3. Explain to me in exact detail what my views are and how they've led to 40M deaths.

    4. Manhattan is roughly .00006% of the continental US's surface area. The settlers stole the other 99.9994% of it.

  • Spoiler: she opens the closet and finds her dead brother

  • Dont take this as a personal attack, dont know you from adam, these are just opinions some backed up by fact and some just opinions

  • i've seen this film, its so good but so sad it made me cry :'(

  • who dislikes this?!?!

  • is the movie really good because I don't do good with sad movies or with violence

  • @Jamie57618

  • @guitarstar136 Oh noo!! :/ Wait is it coming out on both DVD and Bluray in the US? And do you know when?

  • i just read the book a week ago. and im 13. its amazing, and im going to see the movie.

  • @xLexiiPuppyx me too im 13 and i want to see the movie but i wonder y she locked her bro in the closet

  • @lordanne6 she promised him she would come back to get him. she did it so he would be safe and wouldnt have to go with them

  • @lordanne6 well.. the naci's came to their apartment. and the little girl knew.. and they were Jew I think.. i haven't seen the movie yet. She just wanted him to be safe. so they wouldn't take them to consentration camp. or owtswitz. watever its called.

  • I can't find this movie anywhere!

  • When does this come out in the US? Or is it already out? I can't find it anywhere... :/

  • This book was a great book to read! I do not want to see the movie though, it will ruin the book for me! lol

  • @jayden2595 you just said you read it though........

  • @YaslyANDYailyn Yes but books made into movies are never better than the book :)

  • @jayden2595 oh i understood it wrong.sorry and that is so true I hate it when movies change things around.

  • Jesus christ slavery was 400 years long and we shut the fuck up about it, its the jews turn.

  • @dj69918 The Jews have the longest history of persecution of any race. And pain is pain is pain. Don't trivialize something you know nothing about, apparently. Especially considering the Jew's background gave them the compassion to fight against slavery of all kinds (which the Jews had gone through many years of.) And apparently you're not shutting the fuck up about slavery as you're bringing it up right now. There are movies about African-American enslavement, why shouldn't people be educated?

  • @AirbornChipmunks This movie isn't about the Jews entire history of persecution, just 5 years of it. I brought up slavery to point out that even though its 1000x worse, I make every attempt to avoid bringing it up and its virtually non existent in media, as it should be. But I can't turn on the TV without hearing about the holocaust. Its pretentious and annoying. You lack any sense of intellectualism if you think I don't know anything about the holocaust because I'm tired of hearing about it.

  • @dj69918 The holocaust is the most recent event of obvious Jewish persecution. And the Jews persecution go back to the Bible. So that's a wee bit longer than 400 years. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. And Roots was a pretty long series solely focused on slavery, which I gladly watched to educate myself and feel another people's pain, as we're all one family. Thank you.

  • @AirbornChipmunks First of all bible isn't considered a source of history by the vast majority of historians. But lets assume it happened. Something happening over 400 years ago doesn't mean it lasted for 400 consecutive years Einstein. Second, I'm not arguing that no one should point out the Holocaust, what I am saying is that enough is enough. I'm tired of people acting like its the worst thing to ever happen....its not. Btw that "check yourself" crap is the dumbest thing i've ever heard.

  • @dj69918 Well Einstein was a jew so i'll take that as a compliment. Thanks sweetheart!

  • @AirbornChipmunks

What? That wasn't even a clever cop out.

  • @dj69918 lest we forget, no we shouldn't forget the attrocities that man is capable of, this should be rammed down our throats wheather we like it or not, to be able to move forward we have to look back at the mistakes we made, i use the word we loosly as these attrocities where caused and carried out by weak willed feeble minded dolts taking ordrs from mentally unbalanced mad men, as for the media/governments, there very good at erasing lets just say shit.

  • @ThePhinbar There are atrocities happening as we speak that barely get one movie. Americana don't care about atrocities done to people, they care about atrocities done to white people. When was the most recent film about the slaughter and takeover of the Native Americans? Where are the blockbusters about how they are the most impoverished people in the country? Where are the award winning documentaries on the birth defects that sill effect Vietnamese civilians today?

  • @dj69918 Our fascist liberals have killed more human life than Hitler and Stalin combined. When are the movies coming out. If you disagree, expose your ignorance by telling us when you were a human life. Ignorant fascist libtards can't answer. As for Indians - they sold most of the land, land that they took from each other. They can have a handout, live in tents, take thrive in the 21st century. Too many choose the gov handout - making them weaker makes, making YOU their natural enemy.

  • @MoBushin04 I'm not quite sure what you're talking about but I think you were insulting my intelligence. But I suggest you repeat the 7th grade, learn basic english grammar, then rewrite what you said using complete and coherent sentences. What you wrote was a mesh of words juxtaposed in random order with the words "fascist" sprinkled in a few times. How about you look up fascist means huh? Because I'm quite sure you don't even know. Don't respond until you get your mommy to proof read it.

  • To everyone (@josbo51715 and @lagunalady417), in the book, Sarah is described as being blonde, blue eyed, and very Aryan looking. It's something that's repeated several times in the book.

  • I can't wait to see the movie, it looks amazing and the reviews were great. I read the book and it was one of the most moving stories I've read. Beautiful

  • That trailer was very moving. I read the book in like 2 days (and I hate to read). Such innocent, brave, and religious people dealt with all this hatred. Every time I read about the holocaust, it breaks my heart. </3

  • I loved the book. I can't wait to see the movie.

  • see yesterday the movie its allways difficult for me to see movies about the holocaust

  • This Was A Great Movie! My Favorite So Far (:

  • type in "The Harrison House Trailer" on youtube...

    it's already getting Oscar buzz

  • This is my favorite book <3 I couldn't help but get attach to the story and cried throughout it !

  • fuckin hell, what a shit ending. i almost got up and left after finding out she kills herself. a brave little girl, stronger then 10 men, can survive the HOLOCAUST and she kills herself! wtf

  • @dirty7black7boy7 Thanks, asshole, for ruining the ending for me.

  • @Shiggs you're more then welcome.

  • @dirty7black7boy7 I think she's haunted all her life by her childhood war atrocity experiences and most of all the guilt she's carried after promising her little brother but which she never delivered. Maybe if she'd seen a shrink she'd still be saved!

  • Gripping story, superb acting and after seeing the movie, it qualifies as one of my favorites.

  • I saw this movie on Saturday!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it, it was sooo sad!

  • I saw this movie Friday night at the Wilton Theatre. It made me cry, it was so good. I'm taking a group of friends with me to see it tonight. If you love the book, you'll love the movie. I can't wait for the DVD release.

  • Why is it that they always choose the most Aryan looking people to place Jewish parts? They never pick semetic looking Jews. Everyone is always young attractive, and Aryan looking. i think it takes away from the credibility.

  • @josbo51715 I agree.. The little girl chosen to play Sarah does not look typically Jewish. She is blonde with blue eyes. C'mon. Aryan all the way.

  • @lagunalady417 I know it seems odd but in the book that is how she was described.I believe it helped her escape and helped her with what happened to her, but she described as having beautiful blonde hair and haunting blue eyes. It really is a fabulous book and should be read by as many people as possible.

  • @josbo51715 I think it's to show that it doesn't matter how much you look like the "desired" race or how hard you try to assimilate; the hatred will be stronger.

  • I'm sorry, but "It's not the German, it's the French." or "It wasn't a rainy day, it was a sunny day." won't cut it as an excuse to keep retelling this story 5-10 times a year. Unless you're a white supremacist imbecile, you got the point already. I have a question, a simple one, how come there isn't once single movie about the Japanese internment camps? Oh, right, Americans are always the good guys... History is indeed told by the victors.

  • @viniciusb, YEAH GOOD POINT, or the BRITISH INTERNMENT CAMPS for Germans in the UK. OH, yeah why not go back to the original Concentration Ca,pis in CUba by the Spanish and South Africa by the British against the Boers?. The story of the Ho;locaust in WWII is easier to tell indeed but never gets old. I cried at the end of this film. Great castying & powerful storey indeed. The French were second only to the Germans in their Anti-Semitic participatiuon on the Holocaust probably .

  • @viniciusb

Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the order to put the Japanese in internment camps. You won't see a movie about it until Hollywood can figure out a way to blame it on Republicans. You know, like they did for slavery.

  • @kyleb2112 Now where have you ever seen it written that the "Republicans" are to blame for slavery?

  • @lagunalady417 Republicans weren't responsible for slavery, but conservatives definitely were.

  • I just finished reading this story, I couldn't put it down!!! It gave me the chills to read this story and I watched this trailer and it gave me the chills again! This story is such a phonnemenal story that everybody needs to read or watch..... I can't wait to watch this next wk!!!

  • I read the book for extra credit for my english class and it really hit me...I was tearing up in some parts...it's a book you just can't stop reading....it really got me mad for what happened when Sarah and her parents were taken to the camps....it was horrible

  • i read this book and its really sad but a beautiful :)

  • I just saw it today with my mom. It's my first independent film and I loved it. It was quite emotional, too.

    ...My name's Sarah. O.o

  • I have read the book and seen the movie and I recommend it to everyone to see.

Before I read the book, I really didn`t know about what had happened or even heard about Veld`Hiv and what happened there during the war. It`s so important for the generations to come to know what happened during the war so that things like that NEVER happens again. Teachers should really find movie like this one to really give the students a sight in what happened during world war 2 and so on.

  • I have high expectations for this movie the book was amazing so im hoping the same for the movie!!!

  • this movie was soo sad but i gave a good meaning that you should never give up hope and fight for freedom! brilliant movie!

  • I just saw this! It was truly wonderful...sad, of course, but definitely the type of movie I like to see. Despite taking French for five years in school, I really didn't learn about the Vel d'Hiv Roundup, so I learned a lot! I'd really like to read the book now.

  • @starryeyeschick The French are very ashamed about what they did during the war and don't want it to be taught in history books. I don't blame them!

  • This move is heart breaking and a must see.

  • Very awesome book! can't wait to see how the movie is :)

  • Beautiful book, can't wait to watch the movie :D

  • Read the full review at pgtipsonfilms (.com)

Sarah’s Key, directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Pretty Things, Payoff, Walled In), is a powerful study of the impact of the...

  • thumbs up if this movie changed your life

  • the book is absolutely AMAZING!!! one of the best that i have ever read. hopefully i will see this movie, and hopefully nothing like this will ever happen again!

  • great movie

  • I read the book and seen the movie in french (I'm french) and I was really moved by the story. Sarah's story is upsetting. Read the book or go see the movie ...

  • To know that they went through this tragic inhumane act only to treat African Americans the same and worst along different periods in history and currently are the Judges and District Attorneys who are incarcerating African Americans at an alarming rate compared to white christian & Jewish offenders of the equal offense. We are only perpetuating history upon each other and not improving it.

  • @Maxantium You can't stereotype a race anymore than you want to be stereo-typed.

Jews played a HUGE role in the civil rights movement. Look it up :).

  • @AirbornChipmunks You cant stereotype facts . only 1 person died among those 3 civil rights men murdered and their car found in the mining quarry. .001% of 1 % marched with blacks during the civil rights. And where is ur explanation 4 their involvement during slavery seeing that u intentionally picked a bone about what i said when in fact what i said was not even close to stereo typing of any kind . Answer that question please. His name among many was Christopher Colon aka Christopher Columbus

  • @Maxantium You can't stereotype a whole peoplehood unless you want the same done to you. Jews actually played a HUGE role in the civil rights movement, look it up ;)

  • Did the movie come out?

  • i NEED the music

  • damn. hollywood would be totally empty

  • Love this book. It made me cry and it also gave me great joy!

  • I'm reading the book right now! So far its good!! Can't wait for the movie!

  • i absolutely LOVED this book! I am going to see this movie as soon as possible!!

  • Seeing this movie tomorrow! Can't wait! Best book ever. Moved me to tears!

  • Wait when did this movie come out?

  • i just finished the book and i cried a lot. very sad
