I wonder how many thousands of square feet of solar panels it would take to recharge this ? I have estimated it would take 37,000 ft 2 to power my car but it would only do it on a clear day at the equator between 1130 and 1330 local time and only if the panels themselves could be transported by another vehicle and they operated at 100% efficiency .
@dejectedangle You do realize gold is actually a worse conductor of electricity than copper? The main reason everything is 'gold plated' is because gold doesn't corrode the way copper does.
@fattony252 no ones invented a oil rig under your car either.. just like a gas tank you can put in as large as a battery pack as you want.. plus with a few panels on your roof, a bit of thermal regeneration and kinetic usage you can get a car to be very efficient and cost little to "fill" Its called technology, get off your computer n get a pad of paper n a book.. or better yet get rid or your car and get a horse if your going to be all "gas for the win"
Listen. The MOST efficient internal combustion engines waste 2/3 of their energy as heat. This is why you need a radiator. Electric motors are almost 100% efficient. The only reason they aren't widely used is because the technology in batteries is just starting to catch up. If we can get a battery big enough to power a car charge in two minutes, the gasoline engine will be dead.
@moparfanatic26 I'm sorry, but when you speak in absolutes while making a claim that is impossible to support, you sound like an idiot. Unless you are god (which I find highly unlikely), you can't know what will happen in the future. What if OPEC declares a trade block with the U.S? No oil = no gas = no gasoline engines.
i third it, it amazes me that people think electric isnt as powerfull as internal combustion. you'd proberbly do better with a generator to an electric motor than an ordenery car at least you could get all 2% efficiancy at once
@electricityfan gas/petrol engines diesel engine's Rankine cycle engine's and Stirling engine's are the only known cost efficiënt engine's who can turn chemical/heat energy into mechanical energy efficiëntly
Electric motors turn electric energy into mechanical energy
So they use a completely different energysource with its own advantages and disadvantages
So i don't expect the internal combustion engine to dissappear because they fill a certain niche that can never be filled by electric motors
@electricityfan when compared to existing technology. however, for its time, the internal combustion engine was a modern marvel. you have to keep in mind that gasoline was actually a waste product, it was what was left over from making kerosene. they actually used to dump gasoline out as you would dirt. so the fact that this engine used that otherwise trash liquid, was a pretty awesome feat. im still holding out for mass scale algae derived fuels, they seem the most promising to me.
@jw11432 I liked what you have said. And I too believe that algae with a DNA twist has great promise. Recycle your carbon, use new fuel, not fossil fuel.
HOLY SHEEP SHIT 7.8 seconds quarter mile thats amazing and hoiw does that sound like internal combustion cant you hear the high pitch buzzing sound when its warming tire >?????

Want to be the next billionaire invent the perfect conductor... So far gold is the closest to least resistance... Then electricity will be 100%

This drag bike is called the Killacycle, yes it is an electric bike.
The gas/petrol engine is possibly the single most over-rated, over hyped and least efficient motor ever invented.

go for diesel until the electric cars become widely available

@electricityfan but you can still get a hell of a lot farther in one day than you can in an electric car.
