Two pieces of advice. You take too much magick damage.

1) Be a Breton - 50% Magick Def

2) Do the Mara quest, "The Book of Love".

Nice video, legit gear for PC. I play on console and my Skyrim disc is currently broken. Lol @ Microsoft. But anyway I only play on Master settings as well. I'd recommend, One-Handed and Magic. I use Restoration. (Fast Healing + High enough rank heals Stamina) So you can tank and deal as much damage as you want. Not to mention unlimited power attacks!

I really really need some help!

I want to make a character that is range, so either Magic or Archery.

But Magic seems really good in close and range combat, but has a really bad armor rating without getting enchantment gear.

Then again, archery seems to do better damage at range and has a good armor rating (light armor).

But archery seems to frustrating in dungeons and caves etc. because you want to stay at a distance, which there pretty much isn't in a cave/dungeon etc.

So I need some help.

Lol idiot the maximum armor rating is 580 and anything over that is useless which is why the monsters still do damage to your 1800 armor rating. bethesda game studios did this to prevent making any player "invincible"
