  • TAKE OFF YOUR VEST!!! :)

  • Very expensive and non touch screen...

  • Actually, I think device is good, but, fuckin' $500 is TOO MUCH... You can buy a kick-ass laptop now a days for less than that....

  • ur a cutie, ill teach u spanish

  • your re...vi...ews are g...ooo...d, you really...have...uummhh talent.

  • The Kindle swindle.! DRM restricted. That means that they want to kick my ass hard just because I am buying the books. They may delete my books without alerting me. That sucks. I am not that easily tricked. the contrast isn't very impressive if you compare to other e-book devices. The kindle can't read many formats. that is also not so good. my conclusion is that the kindle is overhyped. buy a better e-book reader. ;) Great review!

  • As akhan 727 mentions it it´s necessary that it has note taking features, that it´s possble to cross reference (even between different documents), to search for single terms or term-strings, and to draw basic physical demonstrations. Also: the possibility to do equations.

What´s in the future is speech control, eye-motion-control and even brainwavecontrol, charging "the kindle"

with solar power (maybe even through the display itself), the option to choose between flexible and hardback.

  • she is hot

  • u r absolutely correct ....ragnogg..hot sexy AND Cute....

girl ...we want more of ur .....err.... reviews

  • Whaaaat you don't work for me! Haha wow what are the odds.

  • Do it in spanish!!

  • Bridget, I value your opinion on the Kindle DX way more than the hype that is surrounding this new product.

The only way I would buy a Kindle is if it were cheaper, touch screen capable, quicker in its navigation, able to have practical note-taking features, and if it had a more efficient QWERTY keyboard.

Amazon, am I reaching for the stars here?

  • I've heard Sony has a cheaper touch screen reader, but because of the touch screen technology, people say the screen is shiny and unreadable.

  • Wow - any other college students spend less than $500 on books (in a year?!!)

  • @danryan128 : as she said, all her books were literature not textbooks, which come much cheaper.

in her case, the kindle 2 would actually be the better choice, since literature typically is a5 page size.

  • @danryan128 Exactly!

  • The prics is ok with 350 euros, which is half of iRex DR 1000. Only drawback is, you can't zoom into pdf's. If they fix that in future software upgrades i'll buy it.

  • I have a Kindle 2 and take notes on it and never have a problem. You had to be hitting the wrong button. I'm also in college and considering purchasing this sense all my reading material is in PDF format.

  • I think you were hitting the home key instead of the menu button when trying to make notes. I have Kindle 2 and it never goes to a place that I didn't expect unless I hit the wrong button, I assume it's the same on the DX.

  • Wow. I haven't read a book in such a long time.

  • sony did a touch screen but it causes a major glare. compare the old sony prs-505 to the prs-700 (touchscreen) the 505 has a way better screen

  • Everyone makes touch eink screend, why Amazon not ?

  • i love it.

    nice review.

  • thanks for the review Bridget!

Hoping amazon will realize, what we're looking for is a touchscreen version of Kindle DX with a lower price tag.

  • Would you show us the PDF reader built in it??
