I don't agree with his analysis of the media, but its nice to hear a conservative talk with balance about difficult issues and acknowledge that lockstep agreement with conservative policies might not be the greatest thing in the world.
Critics might want to actually "SEE" the movie before putting both feet in their gaping pie holes. I keep having to pinch myself thinking I must be dreaming... but it's not a dream. It's real! We're living in America, the home of the free where freedom of speech is intrinsically guarded for every subject under the sun... except anything even remotely involving a perspective that might even hint of a Deity.

Ben Stein is a wackjob conservative freak. He views the world from such a radically slanted distorted perspective. He's living in a dreamworld!
He's also a wackjob christian and "intelligent design" proponent.
Ben Stein thinks life was not created, but always existed, from nothing, in the form of an all powerful, magical superbeing which is, at this very moment, reading all our minds.
It's MUCH more sensible to believe we all arose from some very special mud which, without explanation, suddenly produced life.
On second thought...no, no that's not sensible at all. If anything could stimulate dirt to become something more than what it is, it would most likely have to be a God.
There comes a time in the life of few people when the Lord's graciousness shines proof of something more to quell our fears or answer profound questions. We are all supposed to have faith, but in my darkest hour I questioned my friend's death and was answered with a 1 foot diameter, ethereal lit orb that floated in my kitchen down from my ceiling in a slow 'S' pattern for 3 feet and disappeared. I only hope this comment assists you in knowing there is something more to you than crude matter.

itsateben, something happening without explanation is religion, SCIENCE is when we attempt to explain Observed phenomena. It's alright to be critical of abiogenesis, not much is known about the exact process by which living life arose.however, automatically attributing the unknown to an unseen diety is as foolish as beleving in a sun god, or thunder god.
I'm not spontaneously attributing it to God without reason. I'm weighing my personal experience and understanding against the options. Those things considered, God seems far more reasonable.
Also, "something happening without explanation" is not even a remotely accurate definition for religion. Science IS an attempt to explain observed phenomena. The difficulty arises in the not so easily observed things. Thankfully, there is a third party intervening in nature to reveal those sort of things.
He's washed up now for sure. He's no bookworm! He only reads enough to get some facts to mix with nonsense and sound like he's saying something. He's been taken off all respectalbe lists for real NESS.
Nobody did elect the media...that's why the REAL media can not even tell the truth. If they staged a coup....it's because the corporations they work for told them to do so. What does merle Haggard have to do with the President. This guy is loaded. You need a meeting Ben...we think you slipped. Listen to this stupid speech...he makes no sense.
The media sells what people buy, they are a business if you don't buy they can't sell. Media is supporting the views of their viewers. it's how capitalism works.
He says that sure we're still in a terrible war, but we know we're getting out soon. Well, it's been nearly a year since this video was posted on YouTube so far. Just sayin'.
I find it interesting that he uses the word NABOB. The same word he wrote in for a speech for Spiro T. Agnew. NIXON"S Vp who was later convicted of high crimes with the Governor of MD. Such phonies. Agnew was also the man that helped the beginning of the class wars in our country. Ben Stein;s words set up the hatred that exists today.
It's a valid point about the media, but Ben Stein is an absolute coward to say Bush has done anything proactive. This man is so highly intelligent that it is a shame he might suggest Bush has helped anyone other than his corporate comrades.
i'm not a liberal you worthless assjammer. stein is an annoying excuse maker and apologist. he is saying the media is biased? what a revelation! get a clue before you use the L word next time fucker.
Once again, pretty typical. You have no sense of sophistication with your name calling. It's truly sad because people don't take people like you seriously. A true shame.

"If you don't like the news go out and make some of your own", Ben.
This is a quote I attribute to a 1960 / 1970 radio personality at an early free format FM station KSAN.
But then I guess that is what he is doing (while living out his old, frustrated, Nixon / Reagan speechwriter syndrome).
After all the medium is the massage.
Pay no attention to the man behind the crooked smirk.
Good thing we live ina dumoccersee, Ben.

94 percent of Americans pay their mortgage on time. So, you should be careful when you write about "everyone" having to deal with foreclosure.
