how offten do u have to feed them? coz my mum found one 3 days ago and its still alive but im worried, coz yday it was really chirpy n today its curled up in a ball and when i felt it today it was really cold so ive had to put him back in the cuboard (thats where out water tank is) where its nice and warm coz mum thought it would be to hot to keep it in there (and took it out, i dont know how long for) but i feel thats where it needs to be, is that right??
@Rimfire748 actually you might think so but they are pretty darn durable, that and they love physical contact from their parent figure so this is ok, ive raised plenty of pigeons so i kinda know this.
@MsFeatherBall i suppose since i used to own 1 my self since i did saved it from some puck kids trying to kill it while it was still young an yellow featherd...
so it took 3 week to hatch and how long for the chicks to fly away? i have 2 eggs on my balcony now. been there less than 2 weeks so far. i can't go on my balcony because it will scare the mother bird away.
@The096757 the baby is still there so i dont know when its going to fly away... You can go on your balcony just dont do it at night because the bird wont come back until next morning... But if its daylight it comes back in less than five minutes !
@The096757 the little bird just flew away ! Half an hour ago it was there and now i cant find it anywhere... Didnt get to see it flying :/.. Anyway it takes about 5-6 weeks for the babies to grow up and leave the nest ! see ya ..
Pigeons prefer to nest high up away from the ground, out of the eyes of potential danger. That's why a lot of people who live in apartment buildings will find pigeons nesting on their balcony.
@CrostyWalkz hhaha me too :) i always thought that those little brown sparrow looking birds were baby pidgons...i know dumb but yea i looked it up on youtube too
Source: i own a bird sanctuary and pick up examine and even take babies away to be hand raised if there parents are unfit but birds have little/no sense of smell
They only get diseased cause people like your mum throw out disease ridden rubbish and they have no choice but to eat it, if it's just born how does it have a disease?...
@iaviate1 -Uhh, don't you know it hatched before it could go pick up diseases out in the wild with trash and other diseased birds? It has to hatch clean!
it looks like a dodo bird

The uglier a pigeon is as a chick, the prettier it will be as an adult. That one will be gorgeous!
