Back in '96 I caught a ketchup tidbit on a cassette tape....It was just the last bit about "people got out their toboggans and went sledding even though the ground was perfectly flat" and then "Ketchup! all that a ketchup can be...A word from the ketchup advisory board"... Helped me actually find this show.

Catsup, ketchup,catchup, probably originated in China, and brought back to Europe by sailors, and contained NO tomatoes.Bet'cha didn't know that. Eat more ketchup!

I'm no expert, but I believe it was squeezings to go ON the fish, and was a kind of pickled relish(like kim-chee perhaps?)Heinz probably wasn't the 1st, just the most successful to add tomato.I don't eat much of the stuff myself, too much sugar,but just found a recipe for homemade K I might try.Makes a good base for BBQ(my middle name,btw) sauce.PHC such a funny show,seeing it makes it even better IMHO.You a fan too?
