@webhutspain Peace be upon you. This verse is also clear. "Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy." [Proverbs 23:13] "When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” [Mark 2:5] It seems that repentance and faith are also valid to earn God's forgiveness. I only see two possibilities, either there are other ways of forgiveness or the Bible has contradictions.

Repent means to turn direction, in other words to turn to God and surrender. If you do that, does that mean you are indifferent to being good or evil? No, repenting means you do not want to do evil. @webhutspain I believe that there is a disconnect between what the Bible says and what Christians believe. Christian belief comes from dogmas and what they were taught. Then they find passages from the Bible to support those beliefs, instead of discerning their beliefs from the text. I believe that if someone were to clear their mind and read the Bible cover to cover, they would not come out believing as Christians believe.

@webhutspain Actually, I believe that the disconnect comes from Christians following Paul of Tarsus rather than Jesus. Furthermore, the Christian belief was adapted to conform to Roman Pagan belief so that they wouldn't be so heavily persecuted. The Pagan belief in Rome was very familiar with the concept of gods having sons. This idea was also attributed to Jesus whereas in Jewish belief, being a son of God meant being his servant or beloved by God, not God himself.
