  • Can i use oven?

  • instead of milk can you use water?

  • It totally sucked if you over cooked it

  • do you have to use self rising flour or can you use regular flour?

  • Yeah so 5 tablespoons of oil is 600 calories alone... That's ridiculous, is there any way to cut that out?

  • Thanks for sharing! I used baking powder with all purpose flour, worked like charm :)

  • Thanks so much!! I made it with melted chocolate instead of cocoa powder and it turned out great!

  • Nice video. Check out my channel to see me making a 3minute chocolate cake in a mug using PANCAKE MIX! ;)) sorry for advertising ^_^"

  • @schergi3

leave out the cocoa, and swap same measurement for normal flour, I add a pinch of cinnamon and pour over drained canned peachs which makes a nice quick pudding

  • Jummm, that was soo good(with nutella) .

  • can you make it with melted chocolate or does it have to be coco powder

  • My cake taste bitter and hard why?

  • Why is my microwave cake always like rubber? Not the taste but i is hard like rubber. Why?

  • @rachelbzx

maybe you're cooking it too long or try cooking it a medium power

  • Luv luv luv!!!! (from america!) ;)

  • When it says table spoons; does it actually mean the spoons or the jug things?:S

Cos i tried this yesterday and it didn't rise at all and taset really bad; can anyone help me?

  • @xRobPatzFanx

1 Tbsp or Tablespoon = 3 tsp or teaspoons

a Tablesppon is an actual measurement if you don't have a tablespoon measurement you can either use the teasppon to measure or else it is also

    1 Tbso or Tablespoon = 15ml

you will also have to check that you are using self raising flour as normal flour will not rise

  • I made this and it was soooo delicious. And for all you guys that want to know if it works with liquid chocolate, it does! I just melted some chocolate buttons in the microwave in a separate bowl and mixed it in with the rest of the ingredients.

  • looks good .never try microwave cake before.but gonna try it today.

  • Thanks for teaching how to do the 5 minutes Chocolate cake :)

  • I just made it and it taste good and bad at the same time. Maybe cause i used chocolate syrup instead of coca powder

  • It taste pretty good for a microwave cake

  • i made it! and it tastes reaaallly good :)

btw, i baked them in the oven haha

  • OK, i have just made it. It took about 10 min and it is actually bacome pretty good. It is a better cake, that the one in '5 min cake in a mug' cake.

  • I am gonna try to make this cake now :D

  • could you use liquid chocolate?

  • @JoycexSuJu probably not strong enough but you could try

  • after trying this, the batter taste just like cake mix, but i'd rather eat that than the end result.

  • Comment removed

  • Today I have made this cake, to have with my evening cup of tea. It is nice, thank you so much for the recipe!

  • Wht cn I use as a replacement 4 cocoa powder?

  • I am eating this cake right now..its is quite good..but I felt like it is less chocolaty..next time I'll add more coco

  • what can you use instead of coco powder

  • @JoycexSuJu

I also just add same ammount in flour with a pinch of cinnamon but would also work with lemon zest etc

  • I made this and it's delicious :D

  • Super thank you for share! Good job!

  • My first successful cake. Man this video was long ago when I did it.

  • Im gonna add tonnes of chocolate

  • i dont wanna be mean but did u lose ur measuring cups or somethin cuz all u use is tbsp spoons

  • @sakura1353 Because she is making a small amount she doesn't need as much as 1 cup.

  • insted of coco cud i use hot chocoalate mix?

  • @xEloiseKerryx that's i used

  • Thank you for not letting me die from hunger! THIS CAKE IS AWESOME! :)

  • thank you very much.. i have tried this recipe and it works.. well done and thanks again.. :)

  • 5min .. very fast for a yummy cake =)

  • this is lovely im eating it right now!!!!YUMMMMMMMM

  • Just made this! I didn't have self-raising flour either so these are the measurements I used: 5 Tbsp Caster Sugar, 3 1/4 Tbsp Flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder 2 1/2 Tbsp Cocoa, 1 Egg, 3 Tbsp Milk, 5 Tbsp Vegetable oil I also added 4 Tbsp of chocolate chips :-) And I microwaved on High for 3 minutes. It was really good. Much better than I was expecting!
  • tried it, didn't have caster sugar so i had to use raw sugar... hahahaha tastes okay though. =) will try again when I have caster sugar instead! thanks!

  • instead of coco powder can i use like liquid choclate or something like that?

  • @ZebraxRawrr would probably end up too wet but you can add more flour and a pinch of cinnamon then pour over drained canned peaches for something nice

  • This really works, type this comment in on one other video then go on this spam/virus free website recipesforfree.blogspot.com and click on one spam/virus free ads and you will get 10p for every ad you click sent by the owner of the website this really works because every time you click on an ad the owner gets 20p and will share half of it with you via your website!!! It really works!

  • If I don't have self raising flour, how much baking powder do I need then?

And what is the texture like? Spongy?

  • @eBaz3 never made using normal flour and baking powder before but I would guess at maybe 1/2 tsp texture is spongy

  • @CiccioItalianCafe

    Ok thanks!

  • I liked the batter better then the real thing .

  • this was the best microwave

     cake ive ever made

  • @nassah98 thanks

  • This is from sorted...

  • @Tha7RandomDude ...this isn't from sorted or any otherwebsite this is a recipe that I have come up with myself as the normal 5minute chocolate cake that does the rounds tastes foul, if sorted's one tastes the same they have copied mine, if you attach the link I will check and they will have to answer to why they have published it without my permission

  • oh my God.

i just made it, and it's terrific. thumbs up!

the easiest chocolate cake in the world!

  • Is it possible for this to work in an oven but for longer? I dont have a microwave!

  • @avaluvsgreyson yes should work but I would make larger ammount and bake @180C

  • Didn't have 2 medium mugs so I used 1 large... Big mistake.. have to clean my microwave now but it's very delicious :D

  • Can I use regular flour and then add baking soda to make it rise?

  • @LuvPinkTwizzler yes but I would add baking powder

  • I love this, but could you make it into an ordinary cake by not adding cocoa? Because we're out of that...

  • @TanjaTricks yes just replace with more of the flour, i also make with a little dash of cinnamon or grated lemon or orange zest

  • its awesome just tried it :D but first try's are always failures XD

  • doesnt the microwave machine burn! but i will try it! =)

  • if i want to make this for 12 people how can i measure the ingredients?

  • Eww, I made one and I got a bowl of a wet pancake. D:

  • I just made it!! :D

though it took 10 mins! :D

    thnkyou!

  • @farhinahasan Hope you washed your bowl right away! I made one and forgot to rinse it after and 2 weeks later I'm still picking off crusties >.<

Good for a quick chocolate fix though.

  • @MissKatelynnne omg! haha!

yes i did wash the bowl!

  • Hi my computer can.t hear a sound so I got the recipie except how much to do in th emicrowave and on hwat strength - the only bit you gave only verbally - can you tell me what the microwave instrucitons are? thanks.

  • @jamesgeesar the whole video was without any verbal instruction!:D

  • @farhinahasan dat werent me speakin soz :P

  • @jamesgeesar huh? *feels stupid*:P

    i didnt get you

  • @jamesgeesar instructions through video not verbally

  • I tried this 2 years ago when this video first came out, it was good.

Recently, I used the same mug (washed) to bake molten chocolate cake.

    It will good.

  • i ve try this out just now. i dont have microwave so, use oven at 180 degree. and its work. thanks for the easy recipe. and the taste is soooo greattt... :)

  • damn my micrwave broke i waned to try this :(

  • bt wen it cools dwn it becomes hard like a biscuit...im i doin it da rite way?

  • How long do you microvave it for though?

  • Rotorua wtf i live not far away!

  • btw can i use all purpose flour instead????????

  • @TalaLalaLicious

it would taste totally different :/

self raising flour makes it taste like brownie/cup cake

all purpose flour would make it taste like bread

  • Awesome!!! Thank u!!!

  • im lovin it!! it works!

  • that is awsome i love you!

  • omg this is fantastic I just made it and it just turned out great. If you like me do not have all purpose flour just add 1/4 teaspoon of baking powder. =D

  • LMAO, basicaly i was board and i wanted to do somthing so i did the same recipe exept i didnt have chocolate powder so i used custard powder and its made this weird looking yellow cake type thing and im waiting for it to cool in fridge because it actualy looks quite nice xD

  • Wow...Looks great!!!

  • ahh well now.. i have 4 & 1/2 minutes left!

  • mmmmmm.... this seems delicious! Today for Iftar i will make this sweet!

  • @financeismylife Nice :) Have a nice iftar inshallah

  • This is perhaps the coolest cake I`ve seen! <3

    Awesome!

  • Do it, it works great. But you have to watch it otherwise it might overflow :)

  • @SyMadude23 depends on the size of your cup won't overflow if you use 2 x 8oz cups

  • lol...i live in rotorua too. I just cook this @ it was beautiful....also my kids love me more now (or so they said...)

  • @djshuure glad you liked it

  • I just made it for fathers day and my dad loved it

    Thnx for The recipe

  • does this work with all purpose flour?

  • @Ariienful you will need to add a little baking powder if using all purpose

  • can i put it in a aluminium cconainer and microwave it?

  • @omgheheho not unless you want to damage your microwave

  • @omgheheho dont think so, it might become 'electrical' and burn the cup.. i dono heh

  • @omgheheho thats like the dumbest question ever.

  • my cake ended up exploding in my microwave did i put too much batter XD? owell its still yummy!

  • i made this, but just ate the batter. :P

  • haha love it!!

  • That's actually a really good idea... With other desserts aswel :)

  • JUST ATE IT! Even though it calls for allot of oil..... DO IT IT MAKES IT FLUFFY AND GOOOOOD! I HAVE MAD IT ONCE AND IM MAKING IT AGAIN!

P.S. Put it into two (2) coffee mugs and it's GREAT for a on-the-go snack for all you chocolate lovers!

  • This worked well :-)

Eat sooner rather than later as they seem to dry out rather quickly - but still yum!

  • just ate it! yummmy!! :)

  • fab.. tryed it today, really delisious,

    try it with custard

  • looks grat.. i'll send a vid response if i gat the chance to make it

  • URGENT:If Uu wanna add some baking powder u can.But add 1/3 or 1/4 tbsp because i added 1 tbsp and when it was in the microwave it flowed outta the mug.The results were yummy but i had to stop the microwave and put some in another cup. It was fluffy and CHOCOLATEY!!!! Anyways, HAPPY BAKING!

  • far to long about 20 minutes @ 180C , would only make about 3 cupcakes but you could quadruple it or more, but comes out of the microwave perfectly, if you want to have an oven cake try the amazing orange cake it's really good

  • this is really good! i loved it.

  • 5 minutes wow, ive got to try this, abit different mind u, will be adding my faviourate herb :d

  • @xPlantpoTx OREGANO?

  • can I use flour as an alternative to self raising flour? tnx :)

  • yes but you'll need to add a little baking powder otherwise it won't rise

  • about how much? 1 teaspoon?

  • I would be looking at about 1/2tsp if it needs more report back to use, I only ever use self raising

  • Yea that's what we use. Its a lot easier but more expensive, but oh well. Is it actually done when its in the microwave?

  • hmm as in...?

  • what going to happen?? nothing exciting only that it'll get cooked

  • meh im unsure about putting it in the microwave incase sumin happens

  • Did it this way :

    5 tbsp Sugar

    3 tbsp All purpose flour

    1/2 tpsp Baking powder (chemical)

    1/2 tbsp Cocoa

    1 egg

    3 tbsp Milk

    3 tbsp vegetal oil

    Eating it right now.

  • How is it I would think a little drier and not so chocolately?

  • Would it be a plain cake without cocoa or will it taste weird? i wanna make a plain one, cut it in half and put jam and cream in the middle but i dont wanna waste. Anyone tryed it?

  • I have made without cocoa replace with self raising flour but added a little cinnamon or you could add a little zest but would be nice with jam dropped through when half cooked

  • Have nothing in the house and starving, am about to make this with what limited resources I have.

I have lemon juice / rind / curd and suger-alernative. Any chance it'd work with those instead of cocoa / caster sugar?

  • should work I have made a couple of times differently you can take out the Cocoa but will need to be replaced with self raising flour to the equilant size, really nice if you poured over sometime like you curd(I sometimes put tinned fruit like peaches under my take out cocoa and add a little cinnamon...let us know how you get on

  • thanks! i just made this, and my mum was amazed.... so simple and fast... i used a little less oil though... gonna try other flavours like coffee or cinammon next time.. 5 stars for ya!

  • if you take out the cocoa replace with self raising flour then add cinnamon works well over drained canned peaches

  • I've cooked this in a 900W so try cooking it at about 60% for 2 minutes then check it maybe anoth 30secs after that, sometimes it's trial and error to find what is best in different microwaves

  • i tried this and it came out perfect

  • Nice work, we liked your video very much so we embedded it on ChefCommons w/ link back and reference to Youtube. (Let us know if you don't wish for it to be featured)

  • will try it out and i hope it works out...makes a great snack for kids who like to help in the kitchen. thanks for posting it.

  • i tryed and it came out all wierd it had no flavor what did i do wrong i tryed again and it got all smocky and that pisses me off damnit

  • you will need to adjust time in microwave depending on wattage of your microwave I made mine in a 900W so if yours is maybe higher than that take off 30 seconds check then put in for subsequent 10 second times then you'll know exactly how long to do it next time also should not have no flavour make sure you are using good quality Cocoa as this will make a big difference

  • great and easy can't believe it.. how did you come up with the idea?

  • it's based on a larger cake I make at work although that made in an oven but I was in a hurry

  • Would this work if I used hot chocolate powder instead of co co powder?

  • probably although won't be as chocolately

  • this is not realy an awesome one!!

  • ?? did you not like this??

  • wow, this is awesome! this recipe made me happy, i thought cake recipes from scratch are only cooked in the oven. can't wait to try this :) question, if i want this to be done in the oven, how long it should be cook and in what temperature? thanks :)

  • if you made in a normal oven you would want to makes a few times recipe to make it worth your while probably cook @ 180 degrees C for about 15-20 minutes for cupcake size but really does taste just as good from a microwave

  • mine came out ugly but tastes great

  • Doe's it really taste of chocolate and not to oily??

  • definately not too oily it's instead of using butter

  • i just tried it its 1/4 tsp or slightly less :)

  • thanks for listing the measurements for using normal flour good to know

  • Im going to make it right now :D:D

  • yes but you would have to find out how much to add too much will cause it to have a soapy taste, easier with self raising

  • self raising flour is flour that has baking powder already mixed in do not use normal all purpose flour as cake will not rise

  • thank you

  • looks easy and yummy

  • Today, i tried this recipe again(same amount) with 6 cupcakes, I used cupcake papers sitting in a silicone cupcake set, it turned out great too! Only thing is the cupcake is not so full looking, so suggest to do this amount for 4 cupcakes.

my 5 yrs old son loved it so much and ate 3 of them!

  • Hi, i am eating the cake right now, it turns out fantastic! yummy yummy! and it's so easy!!

    Thank you so much!

  • hi, I just tried your recipe today. It was definitely easy and satisfying. Thanks so much think you deserve this honest feedback from me. And let the ice cream melt in it! And I made 9 of it today! *muacks*

  • OMG

  • thank you so much babes! will definitely try it out now.

  • hi...if I'm using a conventional oven what temperature should I set it at and for how long? Thanks a million!

  • hi usually made in microwave oven for making fast and it's only 2 serves however if you have the oven on you could bake @180degress celcius for about 15-20 mins

  • to make this more like chocolate pudding add an extra 1Tbsp milk and cook for 2mins +30secs

  • wow this tastes soo good I didn't belive it could be done in 5 mins but was pleasently supprised about 4 1/2 minutes

  • I'm off to make this it looks great thanks :)
