@MeeBruceLee what statement r u talking about????? if its the one at JacobyJenkins i was getting my revenge. u could ague i was using karma! Second if ur talking about my first statement then i think you should go live in a muslim country where opinions are suppressed and you have to believe in what ever people say, and if u dont they kill u. not unlike what ur describing. so either ur a muslim ( witch many of my friends are, OK many = 1 or 2) or you are the fool. thanks and good bye
@unitedbeats247 Why do you have to argue? if you havent come to the video to learn ow to become buddhist or learn about the buddha. then dont start quarrels. just Learn, Know and Accept. then leave us be.
An interesting film about Lord Buddha's time. The Buddha is what? It is you and myself, it is everyone, living creature or dead one. Buddha is everything already. It is you, all beings and all realms of universe. There is samsara & nirvana in this reality of our earthy Life. When you get enlightenment you are living in nirvana. No enlightenment you are in samsara. Your samsara is controlled by devil- ego inside your mind. Nirvana is controlled by buddha, the enlightened awareness of yours.
buddha is such a hypocrite, he says he has no desire but yet wants to stop suffering and he was stupidly fat ect . also why do people worship him like a god it contradicts his teachings. humans are so stupid, as soon as u stop believing in a god you put ur faith on to something else like science or idolize actors and singers or philosophy.
screw that join my cult of not having any believes... (dam its hard not to make a hypocrite of ur self).. :)
@silverface125 The Buddha for buddhists is a symbol. A reminder that we are able to free ourselfes from dukkha. There are people who worships him like an idol, but that isnt the core of the Dhamma and you don't have to worrey yourself with those people. Just go and practice the Noble Path.
And Buddha wasn't fat! You are refearing to the chinese monk Budai (Hotei in japanese)
And Buddha wanted to stop suffering and thats why he started, but his attainment was that we should stop "wanting"
@JacobyJenkins nice contribution, you really told me there. wow the intellect you must have, to wright a damm accurate description of me from a couple of sentences, makes you really clever and cool..... can we be friends or even better i will let u ass burgle me.! YAYYYYYYYYY
@silverface125 organized religion of any kind is good for someone who is at a young stage in life. but as you grow older you seek your own way. whatever works for you. if your coffee cup inspires and helps you focus then use your coffee cup. whatever works for you. no one can tell you what to do. only you know your actions and thoughts better than anyone else. so make your own judgement.
@silverface125 yes and further more....buddha always says perception is something of each individuals mind and interpretation. "Believe nothing, O monks, merely because you have been told it . . . or because it is traditional, or because you yourselves have imagined it. Do not believe what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher. But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings."

@silverface125 go back and look at 4:58. buddha never wanted or asked anyone to worship him or build anything to remind people of him. it is PEOPLE who decided to dedicate things to him and want to be like him. which is also those people's inner demon that they have to fight. actual buddhism has nothing to do with praying or going to temples or sacred places. IT IS YOU. being aware of your limitations. most people are too unfocus and cannot find this harmony within themselves.
@silverface125 and further more... buddha never asked anyone to elieve him or follow him. in fact after he reached enlightment he was alone and journeyed alone. he was convinced by a monk to tell his about his journeys. that is all it is... him telling about his journeys. and you can clearly see that everyone's journey will be different. "1 million people sees 1 million different shades of blue." hope some of my stuff helped you. you can choose to believe it all, some of it or not at all.
@silverface125 because just like the buddha said in short,"don't just believe what your preacher tells you, what your parents tell you, what your teacher tells you, or what i tell you. believe, because it makes sense to you." good luck to you and you can come to me anytime you have a question. but i'm pretty sure you have a good grasp of it even before you came here. you're just trying to enlighten people. but good luck with doing that if the human heart and mind is closed, it is impossible. =)
Great watch..but I felt this documentary was inaccurate at times but never mind, it was a great watch for someone like me seeking a basic understanding of Siddhartas life, thanks for uploading..
threw the practice of meditation, threw meditation there is awareness and once you are aware, then you have the decision to do whatever you wish with the emotions that you have, which then shows in your actions, if that makes sense
@JorikD You can stop wanting by changing your thoughts. You can think of a million dollars that you want but don't have and thus you can suffer or you can choose to not think of it so you won't suffer.
Just don't give your attention to things that you want and just go with the flow of life.
Chant Nam myoho renge kyo...and skip all the other stuff mentioned....leads you straight to enlightenment.
