this song reminds me of why music is so important, and all the infinite realities that can be realized thru music. and this song has brought to light so much more, than words can convey for me.
I had this double CD for ten years in a CD book someone gave me full of CDs..I never played either of them because I'm the type to only play songs that I'm familiar with..But when I came home last year from a year and a half "vacation" , I threw this CD in and I haven't stopped playing it since...I never knew what I was missing all them years....The Pumpkins Brrrro.
I heard they were going to remaster this cd and reissue it!! I hope so..I bought this double cd 3 times way back when. Still one of the best cd's everrrrrrrrrrrrr if anyone knows when, please leave a post...
Whenever I feel sad, angry or something that isn't calm, I listen to this song on repeat. I love this so much. Smashing Pumpkins are amazing, especially because they can go from hard rock to this amazing instrumental.
When I graduated high school we had to come up with our grad theme and I wanted this song. No one on the comity mentioned it again. When grad did roll around they had someone playing whatever song they picked on piano, I really to hear this. One girl didn't like the title so go figure.
So this song reminds me of how glad I am to be out of high school :P
Today my pet tortoise that I've had since I was in 5th grade died. (I'm now a senior in high school) and I played this and it totally made me feel something.....
@H0wlinPelleAlmqvist thats part of what makes it special.a rock band stops the usual rythm to create a very special crafting.not to mention a symphony of sorrow of such grand magnitude and rythm is hard to come by these days, so i think by todays standards, people would still appreciate it.
beautiful but sooo sad :( When i was 12 i had this on tape, and I would sit with the casette player on my piano, rewinding, listening, trying to figure it out... good times ;)
When my teenage sweetheart and I had had a good night, we would listen to this together; when my teenage sweetheart and I had had a row, we would listen to this apart. Infinite.
Smashing Pumpkins ended the day after this record came out. This was their last album, in my mind. They should of not been called Smashing Pumpkins after this masterpiece..because really, they went all experimental 1997 onwards, and down the shitter too. Pumpkins these days, or just Billy really, is destroying the once great name. He should go back to calling himself Zwan or whatever, since their are no members besides himself in the "band" now.
@leklek69 as much as i would love to react to your troll, i would much rather take this as an opportunity to correct you on your knowledge. hes not gay...
A musical master piece. This is why I say it takes much more intelligence to form music the smashing pumpkins made than it does to make modern music. It takes serious genius to step away from hard rock music and put together a classical masterpiece like this one.
@flipingsweet779 You took the words right out of my mind and put them into text, very well!! mind u, i have not found a classical song, "to my knowledge" that is as sweet and relaxing as this song is...........
This has been a inspiration for me since I was little... this song is an emotional master piece to me... every note is inline to its greatest lead of sound.
This song demonstrates the Smashing Pumpkins incredible diversity that elevates them above so many other great bands.
