All these quarrels about what motorhead plays. It's just good music. If you call it rock n' roll, it's rock n' roll for you. If you call it heavy metal, it's heavy metal. If you call it speed metal, it's fucking speed metal. It's just good ol' rock n' roll, though I would definetly say motorhead is fucking speed metal, 'cos lemmy and the others were into speed and the term "motorhead" - as every fan knows - is slang for "speedfreak" (a person who's taking alot of speed)... and it's fast music.

I can't be sure, because we used to go to a few of  Motorhead's live gigs, and all four nights at the Hammersmith Odeon at the end of the tours. Not good for hearing, really.

Like it or not, Motorhead is PUNK! These guys sound far closer to The Sex Pistols and Blitz than Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. In the same way that The Damned were associated with the goth movement, Motorhead were called Heavy Metal just because of the way they dressed.

But when you listened to it, it was similar to punk and incorporated the punk style and attitude so it as metal, but punks could like it as well. Lemmy says that in Lemmy: The Movie, so if you want to argue, you're arguing against the word of Lemmy.

@MetalheadPedro yeah, I agree, in general metal, but with punk influences, which is clearly seen in concerts:). and in opposition: in general all big bands has no sharp borders of genres to wchich they belong. it's not bad:) bad to these which want to attach each band to one genre. genres are for characteristic of music that bands play(so they are subjective) and not for border music. rhythm with this song is really punkish, not classic metal. of course maybe sound is more metal/hardrock.
