The ancients built it way before Atlantis to explore outer galaxies that would take themselves a life time to get to [so they say is the reasona lthough they had to wait for the gates to be put down then the ship to get there so idk how this exactlly seemed like a good idea at the time to them lol perhaps its why the ancients dropped the project]
