Psi storm costs 200gas, archon does 300. 2 HTs with storm is much more effective than 2 archons imo. He had nice stasises, few well placed storms with those would have made big difference.

Also you can get 1 archon out from those 2 HTs after storming, they aint in the fight too early but counts still. I only understand in PvZ to morph archons before storms against early mutalisks, but prettymuch nothing else.

Yeah, but I think he didn't go for storms because he didn't plan to at all - and when his army was being riddled down and he had a lot of gas, he just produced some Archons. He didn't have time to wait for storms, he needed some forces right now.

Of, course, he knew archons were inefective. Tanks, Goliaths and Vultures just own archons. He just wanted some units ASAP.
