I went to Wales once. It rained non-stop and was very windy. No-one spoke English and everyone cursed the English. There are more sheep than humans. The only food is seaweed and cheese on toast. Everyone is small, dark-eyed & dark-haired. They play a strange game called rugby and they think they are special. They claim that St Patrick and guinness are Welsh and they hate the English. They are obsessed with England and talk of nothing but the English. I am never going back.
Excellent teaching, good Welshman. I especially appreciate and make use of your repeated pronunciations and the Welsh vocabulary in print, later reviewed in print. Obviously teaching is one of your talents.
Thank you for the steady camera. And I will watch and listen many times not only for the language but also for the lush Welsh woods.
Diolch, Jason. I love the Welsh language and really appreciate that you've put so much time and love into helping people learn. I've subscribed to your RSS feed, and look forward to seeing more podcasts from you. Hwyl!
Hi Jason! aha that might be a little creppy, anyway... I'm learning from your podcasts, and I was wondering why "Sut" from "Sut mae"/hello, I was wondering how "Sut" sounds like "shu" or "shoe"? >.>
I'm from the States and I'm really hopeing to come over when I'm in college/university and study there at Swansea University :)
@rowan729 The Welsh language is easy to learn, every word is said as it's spelled. The only difficulty is, learning the letters. 'Sut' as in 'sut wy't ti?' is said as it's spelled, so 'sut' would be as you yanks would say it, 'sit'.
A common greeting in Welsh would be 'Bore da, sut wy't ti?' meaning, 'good morning, how are you?' the only difficulty in the Welsh language is the letters such as, LL, DD, TH, F, FF, NG, RH etc etc they're pronounced different to the English language.
I love the video! Thanks! I like how you say the phrases slowly and clearly enough to really hear your pronuniation! I also like that you repeat the phrases several times! That sounds like it should be common sense when teaching a language, but I have a hard time finding some videos that have these qualities :) Thanks again :)
Very informative! I've recently started to pursue journey of the Welsh Language. I feel like Welsh would be a good secondary language because I am partly Welsh, seeing as my name is Clayton Jones. I just got your podcasts off of iTunes and they are also very helpful. Could you translate something for me? I wanted to know how to say "..it was then that I carried you." This is from the "Footprints" poem. Thanks once again!
Killay! My family lives there, it's a treat visiting from Canada to see them. Cymru Am Byth!

All in all, an entry level cultural gold mine.

Thanks :) I like learning Welsh, its just nicer than learning a bigger used language something like French or German.
Plus you can say basic sentences in Welsh and people think your a linguist when your really a bit of a plonker learning Welsh via video.
Anyway I'm rambling, very helpful and easy to learn thanks
