instead of putting restore file system you need to put restore ps3 it will delete all of your data but it wont say it's corrupted again

Hey, ive tried to restore the Ps3 but after i select option 5 it will say restoring default settings and then goes to a black screen.. I've left it there for more than an hour and still no change.. any suggestions? or is my Ps3 pretty much dead.

@TheKiller12131415 im not sure about this problem you are having. there may be a deeper issue with your ps3. contact sony or look around for some other videos. I'm sure theres a way to fix it. as long as you aren't getting a red light.

@WmhDlord there is a small panel on the side of your ps3 that you have to pop open. you will see the hard drive right there. you may have to take out a screw, but its a very easy thing to do

@hardudoooid Had same problem too. What worked for me: take out the hdd, connect to a desktop (Windows XP in my case), go to Control Panel-Comp Mgt-Storage-Disk Mgt. Hdd is displayed as Disk 0 or 1. Initialize the drive and create a partition. Once done, format the hdd. Download the latest update (4.0) from the playstation site (UK) and save in a flash this way (eg. F:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP). Insert hdd back and insert flash. Restart PS3, when prompted press start and select.

@hardudoooid try removing your hard disc and putting it back in. your ps3 should automatically format it and remove the get rid of the corrupted data

this is not the problem i have the first time i powered the ps3 it worked just fine .i put the cd and a black screen came up and then nothin it won't turn off and even when i eject the cd nothing please help me

@simoo254 im not exactly sure what the problem is with yours... but there may be an issue with the device within your ps3 that reads the disc. depending on which ps3 you have, there is a small laser that reads your disk... and it can burn out, causing your ps3 to malfunction. you'll have to send it to sony for this issue

@Underoathearth i got that message before... to fix it, i removed the hard drive which allows the ps3 to re-format the hard drive. re-formatting erases all the data including the corrupted data thats giving you problems

i would try removing the hard disk. if you do, you'll have to re-format it. if you re-format your hard disc, it'll erase all your ps3 data, so be sure you have everything backed up. i have a video showing how to do this

make sure you have it on "stand by mode" when you hold down the start button.

I have the same problem but when I hold down the power button I never get the second beep before it turns off - on the second beep (approx. 10 sec later) the system powers off
