  • This is the future.

  • Right, so the nasty modern Honda POS's get to sit in the garage, and the vintage sits outside all day.

    That's not right.

  • Farewell Gasoline...

    Welcone Gas Power!

NGV/CNG money in the bank in the he tank!

    Dr John

    CarSanook!

    SanookCar!

    Kingdom of Thailand

  • I have my phill in an attached garage, and I can't tell it's running from inside the house. Perhaps the money would be better spent on insulation for your house!

  • its loud so good luck getting sleep and tormenting the dog at the same time....

put a noise reducer on it, install an exhaust near the unit to vent outside the garage, better yet..install it on the driveway b/c its less dangerous....a little piping outside the house will do this...and then make sure the compressor itself runs on a combination of CNG / battery.....

problem solved for millions of people...!

  • I have a CNG car and I'm interested in home fueling. I didn't want to purchase Phill due to the manufacturer's business instability. Interesting to hear it will be manufactured in Italy. I hear CNG is popular in Italy and Fiat offers 6 CNG models.

  • FuelMaker Corp., the manufacturer of the Phill, went into involuntary receivership on April 2, 2009. Honda of America, FuelMaker's sole shareholder, advised that the company be liquidated. This experiment (while it lasted) made good PR for Honda, but did not make economic sense. Breakeven point versus gasoline in a standard Civic was about $5/gallon, when you consider all costs.

  • Fuelmaker has been bought by Fuel Systems Solutions, and the CNG compressors will now be manufactured in Italy. They should again be available as of next year.

  • Refueling with combustible compressed gas provides 2 energy sources from 1 fuel. The gas is combustible and its under high preasure. If your vehicle were equipted with a computer controlled all electronic valve engine, it would be possible to operate as a combustion engine, compressed gas(air) engine, and regerative braking air compressor.

On trips the dual fuel would almost double your drive. For short trips around town, operating on compress air provides enough miles per fill-up.

  • A vehicle engineered for CNG will be a hybrid with regenerative braking.

The engine will have all electronic valves allowing the engine to operate by combustion or compressed gas(air), or operate as a compressor during braking.

CNG, Hydrogen, Compressed Air. Decompressing CNG or Hydrogen powers the engine as well as combusting.

The travel distance will almost double when CNG or Hydrogen is the fuel.

  • I geuss only elitist environazi's like nancy Pelosi will be able to afford them.

  • Why not have CNG refueling at every Honda dealership in

order to make it easier to find CNG everywhere you travel? I don't want a potential bomb in my garage.

  • The gasoline tank in your "safe" gas guzzler is a lot more of a hazard. Methane is ligher than air and dissipates harmlessly if vented. It's gasoline fumes that collect and blow up. I personally prefer to plug my car in and forget it instead of standing at a pump freezing my ass off.

  • Great Idea. I asked the company that manufactured "Phil" cost $6000.00 with installation.
