Its surprising to see how many people are not aware of what diabetes is and the immense repercussions of the condition to those effected. Help others by sharing your story on our page!
The only thing that I want to happen is for diabetes type 1 which I have had for over 42 years....to kill me hopefully by way of a fatal heartattack. Over 42 years of torment. It is not a life for me.
I got diagnosed last month ,i am 30 years old and not fat ,i am fit ,i cant believe it ,i am very depressed and very sad ,i sometimes cry bec i cant believe it,I take shots per day
I got bored from measuring my blood sugar ,sometimes it gets 40 and i feel i am gonna die, also i am paranoid now to go to the gym of getting low and faint infront of people, any suggestions?
is there any sensor that i can put in my skin and read my blood sugar or beaps when it gets low or high ?
I was diagnosed when I was 11, and im 15 now, it was really hard to deal with, and it still is...but im used to it now. Just star on Dbethics a great help
Real upset, quit job because stress spike up blood sugar. I talk to Jenny advice to take Dbethics after 10 days blood sugar dropped to 4.5mmol. Doctor reduced insulin by 10 units to 60units daily.
i am 21 and have diabetes i just found out the other day im very active, one day i vistit my dad and i was talking to him and said that i for the longest felt sick never knew why went to doc. all along i had it, i went to the doc befor and said why i feel this way doc said ur young and fine years later diabetes im sad and mad but i cant change it this runs in the family i dnt no
Type 1 isn't so good as it in the genes, doctors are only human as well, being diabetic for the last 30 years has not stopped me from doing anything, exept eating load of rubbish food, let's not all get depressed about this, click on my name and look what a middle aged diabetic gets up to in his spare time, have a laff at my expense!
listen im a diabetic also im 11 and ive had it for 8 years. It sucks. But in a way it is a good thing. Most people would disagree with me. It teaches responsobility. I go to a diabetes camp in texas for 6 weeks in the summer, it is so much fun!
I am 13 and my mom said i am just going through a growth spurt...I have lost 25 pounds in a week and a half i drank a 50 pack of water in 3 days i wake up in the middle of the night atleast 5 time and i am craving kool-aid which i dont get to have alot and i am craving candy ALOT. And if i drink 2 bottles of water i am still thirsty. What do I do?
sry stupid question: type 1 diabetes is the type u cant prevent...but type 2 occurs because of poor eating habits?---i think i may have it...im drinking a lot of water...hmmmm
I hope that you don't have it (type 1 diabetes), but it sounds to me like you have some of the symptoms. If you're going to the bathroom a lot and it is causing you to wake up...especially in the middle of the night, you could have it. I've had it now for 19+ yrs. If you're loosing weight or craving sweet drinks and food, those could also be a sign.
I have 1 diabetes and found a drink that is FDA approval, for more information please look up web-site under hydradeusa it was used for Special Forces and NASA for years. I can't drink any juice's or Wine, Beer, its a great drink even water because of what they said about Hydrate. I also use it for losing more pounds and has been great for me. I will be back soon when I reach the weight I need to lose great drink with great flavors wowowoo.
I have a question! My athletic trainer thinks I might be diabetic. I have had regular blood tests at the doctor's office, but he says that even that can't always diagnose it. I LOVE sugar. I drink 1 1/2 to 2 bottles of Coke a day at work. All my favorite foods are full of sugar and or carbs-ie. ice cream, potatoes, bread, pizza, pasta, ketchup. I also love to drink beer and wine. Could I have diabetes? Where should I go to get tested if I might?
Diabetes is a metabolic disease. Type II diabetes, or mellitus, is created by what you eat & drink. You eat & drink garbage. The body cannot recognise it as food. The pancreas begins to malfunction & you have it. It a doctor says you are borderline you already have it. It is like being a little pregant. Eat real food & take care of yourself. It is a nasty disease.
Also remember... Type 1 Diabetes TYPICALLY comes on at childhood or early life... But it can ALSO strike later in life!!! Some other videos say "Insulin or too much Insulin is the problem with type 2 Diabetes." However, there IS a THIRD type, typically called type 1.5, which hits later in life, looking like Type 2 at early diagnosis, but over time the body QUITS producing Insulin, just as in Type 1.
Though the origins and the treatments for Type 1 and Type 2 may differ, there is one most important thing that they share; the need to know just what your Blood Glucose reading is at ANY moment. The Freestyle Navigator that the young Type 1 wore needs to be released by the FDA to the public. Both Types of diabetics need this to be able to adjust and control their lives.
Type 1 diabetes (which the mother and daughter had) is not the same as Type 2 diabetes (which the last woman had). Type 1 (also known as Juvenile Diabetes)is not caused from poor diet and lack of excersise. It's an autoimmune disorder usually triggered by a virus.

As the mother of a Type 1 diabetic son, it makes me happy that they finally did a news story on T1 that actually distiguishes it from T2.

Did you go to a doctor? What did they say?

Your mom is mistaken- those are the exact symptoms of diabetes. May also be a thyroid problem.
