  • 4:00

lol where were you bass 1?

i like the drill at 2:14

  • CHUCKLES!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I loved our show this year i had so much fun and thought we did really good. Haha just remembering marching band so much fun.west was really good and so was oak creek they did awesome

  • 8:32-9:13....awesome

  • old school drumline tuning... you don't hear that often anymore... nice

  • i really liked our show this year. :D

  • I'm going to take this time to apologize for some of the comments I made earlier. There are assholes in every band. I have no doubt that if Oak Creek had won, it would have gone to some people's heads and caused undesirable things. North and West are both excellent bands; I just don't feel that the results matched the performance this year. I've always been the first OC person to criticize my own for blaming things on the judges and cutting down the Waukeshas, but I felt this year was different.

  • So how 'bout that tenor solo? Pretty amazing if you ask me, that split roll, all so awesome.

  • Split rolls are indeed awesome. But maybe I'm just biased for being a part of one in Oak Creek's 2007 show. (which I still feel was OC's best year in percussion despite the 8.0 and 3rd place finish)

  • for a marching band this was good. Not perfect but you will not find perfect at this level. How do you properly Jazz step then? Ask anyone who teaches marching and they will tell you everyone has a different technique. Also, the abuse of sarcasm is becoming very old

  • hmph, its as close to perfect as posible in wisconsin so no1 cares bout u.

  • snare solo was clean due to gutted drums to sound like concert snares...

  • yep gutted drums, it wasnt just the fact we were clean....

  • well north is a high school band. give them credit maybe? theyre amazing and champions.

  • So is Oak Creek.

And i wouldn't go as far as to say champions... maybe just lucky...

  • yup, we won by luck, complete luck. you finally found out our secret... you are dumb

  • Or having deep pockets...

  • ok, north is a rich band, no, west is the rich one, they have a personal semi truck

  • yeah they roll dice and see if they're good or not. no. if they got 2nd, they'd have the best show and all that would matter is that they had the best show of the year and it was amazing. I dont care how dumb that sounds, but winning and getting first isnt the goal, its a bonus. they deserve it.

  • I am flattered you could tell we used a bunch of different influences as well as our own stuff to put together a great show. The fact that you identified different parts meant that the kids executed well. Oh and because one group has ever done something before does that make it off limits for everyone else? If that is the case can I go so far to say the OC copied Phantom 08 by playing battlefield, using the wood blocks in the pit and fighting. Also the guard line during drum solo was done by

  • the Reading Buccaneers a long time ago. The two guard fighting and the ending set was definitely pulled from Blue Coats 08. Cirque Du Soleil? North did that in '07 West used triangles that were like North's last year and they had giant flags at the end of the ballad which was Colts 09. Bottom line is we all do it so you can't criticize on that basis. Frankly I think it is awesome when I see DCI moves copied and pulled off well to compliment an already great show.

  • oh and i would just like to know how the judges were biased. All of them are smart people who love the marching arts. If they were biased in judging they would be kicked off the panel and no longer be able to adjudicate for the activity they love. Personally I loved Oak Creek's show and was wondering if they would pull it off over West. On the other hand, West did a lot of more contemporary stuff this year. All 3 bands are pushing each other and that is awesome.

  • Thank you Mr.JumpinJim 11 for posting. We were in the pit for the competition so this is the first time seeing the show from the state competition.. Congratulations to all the kids and staff of the Northstars. You all worked so hard for so long. Your talent and dedication can not be disputed in a three-peat. It is what it is.

  • you can't base our band off of what a few people say. Everyone else likes oak creek and we think that you guys have a great program. But everyone needs to calm down and realize that it is over and the scores are what they are. insted of doing this, lets just wait until next year and well all try our best and see what happens

  • and i just wanna say to anyone on north, or even west, im no bashing your performance in the least bit. im annoyed at your off the field performance. and some of us are frustrated about the score, but we know that is not your fault. dont get the wrong idea, please.

  • More power to ya, judges like your show more than ours, enjoy, i wanna say its not gonna happen next year (BTW thats a challenge!)

1st place show, Sure I guess, Sweep in everything and a win by 3 points, I dont care what judges say, thats completely wrong. Like i said enjoy it while it lasts!

  • Good show north, just wanna be the better man then most people hating n shit. But i agree with

ljjmetroid64 still first but not a sweep.

  • So tell me, how is it that you say you dont make snide remarks when we wish you luck, and you shrug it off and say WE DONT NEED YOUR FUCKING LUCK, I dont understand how that isnt completely snide at all, if possible at all, At least try to not say it to our face, and then we wont start bashing you guys about being crude and rude...Dont say you dont when we have more than half of our band as a witness.

  • i have friends in the north band and not once have i heard anyone say anything bad about oak creek. I think you are a very talented band and i am glad we can compete. But going on youtube to complain about how the scores went is the immature thing. We have a staff that presented us with a kick butt show and we pulled together as a band to make it the best we could. What a judge thinks really doesnt matter.

  • then perform when you are off the field too. grow up

  • ok no one needs to bash each other's shows. we all worked our asses off this season, as with any other. unfortuantly judges are biased (esp when the judge is from waukesha...) and proper scores are not always awarded. but thats the show, and everyone knows what they put out on that field. the thing to get mad about is they way waukesha's treat oc in person. snide comments under their breath or even straight up ass hole remarks are unneeded. if you think your band is so much better than ours,

  • Please do not group waukesha together like that, at north we try very hard to keep up good sportsmanship at every competition we go to but we can not guarantee that from each school here so im sorry if you've received snide remarks but we are a very friendly school and enjoy the competition of oak creek. Its a wonderful thing for another school to be moving up in a way that we will have more competition in the Quad-A group.

  • im not grouping the bands together, we have heard comments from both north and west that were completely unneeded. i personally have wished ppl in north good luck and had them be ass holes back. im sorry but when oc is wished good luck we say thank you and smile like normal mature people. you may not do i, but your other band members have

  • hey I not saying it doesnt happen (cause ik the kids at north, and there ass holes) but i can clearly remember after cudahay (if thats the show we were all at) Oack Creek took drums, and i (and some of the other guys in the drumline) congradulated them, so i can tell u our drumline isnt the ones makeing the comments, we know u guys r good

  • dude, really, i'm on the north Drumline, no one is an asshole, we're all nice people. So who do you know at north in the band who is an asshole?

  • What exactly comments do you hear back? Can't account for the actions of everyone but I know North and West try to be good sports overall. If you wish us luck and we don't say anything back it is probably because we are concentrating on the show.

  • well i go to greendale and i have to say all the AAAA shows were good.......north had a good visual oak creek had a good percussion west had music (doesn't help they mainly stand and play) but either way why is it that when one of these bands win another band has to bash them.....this is what i saw from west last year and now its oak creek.....i expected this more from west

  • @TheShaman100: I'm a drum major from west, and our band definitely doesnt just stand and play.....so ur wrong....and its not just us bashing either..north has its fair amount of assholes too. and what did u "see from west last year" ?

  • @saarrraahhhday pst! :P westie!

  • @BusMickTyFlick pst youre annoying

  • @saarrraahhhday that may be, but at least i won!

  • @TheShaman100 well, we pwnd in everything so thats all that rly matters :D

  • North is good, but the show is a bit... boring. I'd still have them in first place, but definitely not with a sweep. Music and/or percussion belonged to Oak Creek.

  • yeah ok w/e you think cause your show was exciting.......o wait

  • Actually I graduated last year. Center snare of the state champion percussion section. I saw all the AAAA bands from the stands.

So you honestly think your show was more exciting than Oak Creek's?

    Psst.

It wasn't even close. Oak Creek actually won the music performance subcaption, so that can only mean that they should have won the music caption.

North's pit was nowhere near Oak Creek's pit. The drumlines were relatively equal. I think you know what I'm going to say.

  • so ur saying u have no bias whatsoever...like a judge that put one school over the other. if u attend/attended a school in a competition, no matter how hard you try not to, you are going to have some degree of bias towards them. A judge does not, whether that be your pathetic, uneducated theory or not.

  • But no, you just keep on smack talking me without actually saying anything. That's how you win an argument.

  • actually i really dont need to continue talk smack cause really you list things that your band apparently did better then us on yet you didn't win........end of story we won

  • No, I did win. I won percussion last year when I graduated, remember? I know it's a very hard concept to grasp that a school outside of the city of Waukesha could possibly win anything; you and West have won for so long that it has inflated your egos to unimaginable levels.

  • oh thank you for trying to make waukesha sound like nothings. We don't even care who won, we just wanted the best show. But apparently you think getting first is the coolest.

  • Lucas Jacobson win.

  • it was thanks. can you do better? don't dare to make a smart comment. it won't work.

  • um. nope.

  • well we are better, we this year, and um what was, o yeah, 1/10 of a point is not something to be bragging about, thats one little mistake, like our bad tenor player stopping during the solo.

  • i see only one thing that frameworks and this show have in common. its a great, WINNING, show creating by a great staff and hard-working students

  • fail.

  • most boring show ever, also too many things copied from frameworks

  • k. go out there and do that show. have fun trying to be just as good.

  • first
