Probably a stupid question... but how is this different from superheterodyning? You combine two freqs.. you end up with the two original freqs, the sum, and the difference. The usable part is the freq of the difference with the directionality of the sum...
You know, normally I want to know the science behind how something like this works (and it was interesting) but what I really wanted from this video was to see a whole lot more of him using it in that library! I feel very let down.
Pompei is in fact, the inventor. Woody is the copycat here. Citation: F. Joseph Pompei. "The use of airborne ultrasonics for generating audible sound beams". Journal of the Audio Engineering Society, 47(9):726{731, 1999.
Wow, similar analogies to Woody Norris suggested on TED, Woody Norris also holds the patent for this EXACT same device shown inside the library. I think someone is either not revealing all the information or is fraudulent.
Put it targeting one seat in a school classroom. Thermite will always be talking to himself lol

Hmm, I trust TED more than I trust this. I think something isn't being revealed, Woody Norris invented this first, for sure. This is fraudulent.

I wonder as to who really has invented this because in TED talks a an inventor by the name Woody Norris claims to have invented this device....
