The only members of the Roberta Martin Singers alive are Lucie, Delois and Romance Watson. Interesting note the original members were all young men. The last original member Eugene Smith died last May

Thank you so much for this added song!!! In the 60's my mother would put the 45 on the record player before we would leave out for church. I have always found my self singing this song as I so often meditate. Today, i sent this to my son who is like so many of the youth today who do not experience God like were able to love and feel HIM as we did as children. Even when we would "backslide" we still had this kind of inspiration to step back in stride with the Lord.

Oh yes, Lucy Smith-Collier put her mark on these songs with her organ playing. My favorite aspect is that deep bass line she's making with those foot pedals. It has a richness and smoothness that's hard to beat with a bass or bass guitar.

One of Norsalus' biggest hits. He's calm on the recording but in church, he'd resemble a whirling dervish, twirling those aisles. James Cleveland composed. The song was a big enough hit that the pop singer Kay Starr covered it a year later (and sounded better than most blue-eyed soul singers to come!)
