I am from NJ and I have even heard of "The Hawk"! I love his passion and his humor he is a LOT of fun to listen to and has unbridled passion! Trust me you'll miss him when "he gone"!

If you don't like him than don't listen to him. It's not like you are forced to listen to him. As a White Sox fan I enjoy Hawk's passion and energy for the White Sox, I'd rather listen to Hawk than anyone else anyday of the week. Wanna hear a terrible announcer listen to Ron Santo he is awful, Len Kasper is a joke as well. Hawk isn't that bad, he's dead on with his calls and is entertaining to listen to.

Good point. It's also the reason that people around the league don't give the Sox respect. Broadcasters are supposed to be unbiased. You can root for your team sometime, but you should be objectionable. The only guys that are worse are Tommy Heinson (Boston Celtics) and his partner. They are big homers, but atleast they won more Championships in the past 30 years than the Sox. Oh, and I'm from Detroit! Good points NYerintransit.
