what is ice resin made of? is because i want to make orgonites, but i was told not to use resin that contains plastic because it blocks the energy from the quatz crystals,,,, they told me to use amber resin, but its really hard to get,,,,,,, is this resin good?
@xxxxmrwinoxxxx Hi, ICE Resin is non-toxic and contains no hazardous chemicals. For the full MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET disclosure, please visit iceresin.com.
@MegaJoanna1988 We suggest you always start with a small amount at first when you are learning so that you don't waste any. Once the ICE Resin is mixed you need to use it immediately. Once you get used to working with the ICE Resin you can try working with larger amounts.
@ArtbeadsVideos I've heard that the minimum you can use is one ounce. It doesn't make sense since a lot of jewelry uses less than that. You used a quarter ounce and it worked ok?
@bebechicago If you feel comfortable starting with a smaller amount, you are more than welcome to try. Sometimes it is just easier to measure the amount in a 1-ounce quantity. Good luck creating! :)
@MegaJoanna1988 Hi, Yes you can mix larger amounts if you like! Please make sure that all of the items you want to create are all ready to go and organized before your pour, as you want to use the ICE Resin as soon as possible after mixing it.
I heed help removing a "failed resin" project from a pendant tray. I think I tried using too small an amount and it just won't harden up - very sticky to the touch. How can I get the resin out so I can try again?
@kzoretic1 Thank you for your question. It is very important to measure equal amounts of both the hardener and resin or it will not harden properly. To remove the resin from the pendant tray, try using a paper towel and gently soak up the ice resin. You can then try using soap and water to remove any further residue, then let air dry.
What about methods when adding 3D objects inside the Resin?? I see a lot of Jewelery makers who use beads, gems, glitter, sprinkles, and other 3D items inside Resin for jewelery. . .How does one go about placing them inside??
@RottingQueen Ice Resin can be applied in layers. First, add one layer of Ice Resin and your glitter, beads or other items. Wait 24 hours for this first layer to dry. Next, pour a small layer on top to seal the items underneath. You may add new items on this second layer if you like to create a 3-dimensional effect. Let this layer dry for another 24 hours. Then add next layer to cover. Cure the Ice Resin faster with a desk lamp. The Ice Resin will cure completely in 3 days.
Once the resin has thickened it is unusable and should be discarded.I would use only disposable cups and stir sticks. Its a good idea to have several pieces ready when you begin so as to not waste so much Resin.
Is there anything special that needs to be done to dispose of the cups, sticks, etc used with the resin? And is there anything special one needs to know about general clean-up like washing measuring cups if they're not disposable?
Where can I get the rings?

you should wear gloves

You could use one cup and just fill it to 1/2 ounce. Then you won't have to worry about leaving any behind in the cup.

Don't use non-disposable cups. Trust me.
As for the garbage, just chuck it out in a lined bin.

Oh, but if you do have to clean up any bits you can use rubbing alcohol while the spill is still wet. <3
