Well...my solution was to slipstream the installation disk with SATA Drivers. So the installation package can detect windows xp without doing much disabling the SATA native mode. But this is a nice work around to it. Thank you for posting it.
however, disable sata means you cn never install any optical driver that has sata interface and can only install ide drive. that is huge trade off to install sata hd on xp.
How can I stop user account holders in windows from installing programs (particularly games like warcraft: cause I really hate DOTA) at my computer? I'm a home based user and my housemates keep on installing crappy programs and my system is almost ruined. I'm using Win XP and Vista.
@Tsilibillys Yes you should leave disabled otherwise it will just give you BSOD. You could force-install the sata drivers after windows is installed, and then enable sata, but it is a procedure, and you have to have the right drivers, otherwise you could end up reinstalling windows xp all over again.
@derekie1993 What?? As Os XP is better ......win7 sucks ....the only good it has is the apperance....XP has good apperance,is faster and has very good gaming...(I LOVE XP)
@decoyone95 It seems you've never really run windows 7 long enough! If you did you would have known that windows 7 actually has the speed, the stability and the same feeling as windows xp had. I would recommend you to run windows 7 for a bit longer and then think about it again. (I would recommend a core 2 duo and 2 gb of ram and maybe a wddm compatible graphic card to experience the best of windows 7).
Unfortenly in my case this didn't work, although it makes sense to work. HP nbks sucks hard, I use DELL ATGe6400 M6500 COVET and Acer Aspire new line. This is an old model and I need-it for some old applications, xp compatible. I didn't find any F6 disck drivers for this model. Think of trying with drivers from another notebook :D - an acer notebook ;). I bought and external usb floppy drive.
my bro has hp 6720s it dose show cannot find any disc when i changed it worked to install xp vista was really slow on it but xp alot more stabler and fatser with 2gb ram 80gb hard drive intel cleron 1.73ghz
After you do the steps in this video, the Windows XP disc will see the Hard Disk without any problems. That is the reason why I've uploaded it. Works perfectly.
:) you gave me an idea for my win vista pc i downgraded from 7 (REALLY A WINDOWS VISTA BASIC PC) -on sisters youtube >.>

Instead of installing xp, you could also install windows 7. Much better OS than xp.
