it all depends on your internet speed and site traffic. Put it simply the more people that are downloading it the longer it will take.

i have an old pc rotting away in my shed, and im planning to change the operating system, from windows 98 to Ubuntu, to make it faster, when i reformat the harddrive, as i plan to do. Then insert the boot disk, will i get the same screen as if i put the disk in with windows still installed. Or.. how can i install it, and get rid of windows and everything else on there. i plan to just use the pc for college work, so it would be good if you could share some knowledge.
