The funny part about this is a month ago PRS was telling us how the guys in Korea have more production experience that his guys at PRS. He has alot of respect for their Luthiers. He actually went there and made sure they made them exactly to his specifications. I actually have a MIJ Fender HM Strat that says Made in America on it.
lol at first i just thought those goats where playin a really tasty riff with their tounges. lol :P baaa :P i am the goat that sold my soul to play tasty riffs! :P baa baa!!!
@bmwm3cs The idea behind the video was a quasi-shock to encourage people to check out my information site at LegendaryTones where I wrote an article about the problems of counterfeit guitars. This 'PRS' is a counterfeit model, so I had no problems 'destroying it'. If it was a truly a $5,000 guitar, I'd deserve to be hung or beaten!
@TheCalifornium. Relax - it's a COUNTERFEIT guitar from Korea marked as a PRS. Trying to give some awareness about the subject in a different way. Check out my site and read the article and if you still think I'm an asshole, then let's chat :)
If it makes you feel better, it is a FAKE PRS. Some people don't get the humor (and the video is to encourage people to visit and read the article on counterfeits at my site), but I get dinged a lot on the ratings here because people think it's a real expensive guitar, not a $100 fake!
LOL. Maybe I should do a followup video showing that the guitar was reassembled and glued back together and now still functions - fire/melting damage and all. Mark the guitar's triumphant return! Actually, I suspect, but have not confirmed, that the guitar is a Dillion PRS copy out of Korea with PRS labeled headstock.
An article on that subject is coming. The KEY is that there are various counterfeits and they can change at any time. So there really isn't any set 'rule' to this unfortunately. It's a continuous cat and mouse game I'm afraid.
Actually, probably NOT too bad; good thing it is a fake! The point of the video is "shock with a purpose" and lead viewers to an article I wrote about counterfeit guitars which will be posted shortly at my site.
I also imagine the neck wouldn't break away from the body quite that easily with a real PRS!

@RcUniverseGuy, I was actually able to glue the neck back together and string it up so it's still functional (not as pretty now though)!

But there's children on Youtube, it's NOT PROPER. Destroying strats is ok, but never a prs, gibson or mosrite or so.
