The union, which we are required to be in to work there, doesn't represent us whatsoever, and gives us no say in who will be our stewards or anything else. Read past the preamble-the preamble states the purpose of the document. Respond to this video... The auto plants in this country have what is called a “closed plant,” which means that all employees had to be UAW members before they could be hired as employees. NO CHOICE in the matter. The union dues would be automatically deducted right straight out of their paychecks. Employees don't have anything to say about it.
