This kind of stuff happens at my place of employment quite often. The union, which we are required to be in to work there, doesn't represent us whatsoever, and gives us no say in who will be our stewards or anything else. This is the first union I have ever been in, and the Lord willing, when I can find another job, it will be the last union I will be involved with!
National Right to Work Foundation is funded by big business. NRWF is an arm employed by big business to smear union credibility and hope to destroy trade unions in America. They ARE NOT working for the middle class! They ARE NOT working for the working American! Hands down trade unions are much more beneficial then not! Do not associate these isolated incidents and think unions are bad. Big business has no interest in the welfare of their employees! LOOK AROUND!
@rippin187 "big business" huh? Well who do you think employs people? By "working class" I presume you mean "union workers" as that is the new code word to engender sympathy and a sense of unity with non-union workers.
NRFW might be an arm of big business but there's no doubt that unions are a mighty arm of the democrat party. If given the choice i would pick big business over the destructive policies of the dem's and their union masters any day.
1st - You are referring to the PREAMBLE to the constitution - The part stating it's generalized purpose - NOT the actual guts of it.
2nd - it states "...PROMOTE the general welfare..." ... not PROVIDE the general welfare - If what you say is true, then WHY DIDN'T HEALTHCARE BECOME FREE THE MINUTE THE CONSTITUTION WAS ADOPTED???
OOPS - your union-inspired ignorance is showing.
Funny how unions expect to be paid like Dr's for tightening bolts, but don't want to pay actual Dr's for THEIR work.
Read past the preamble-the preamble states the purpose of the document. Doesn't "LIFE" as in "Life, liberty and the pursuit..." state that life is a right?Do you take that to mean "life without any health care"? LOL After that, go and check out how the Supreme Court ruled on FDR's programs dealing with health care (Medicare, etc) You'll see that I'm right. Lastly, tell me where I ever wrote that I deserve to be paid the same as a doctor.
@IWLocal8 - I've not only read past the preamble, I've read the entire document many times. I've also read both, the federalist papers and the anti-federalist papers. NOWHERE does ANY original document, letter, or conversation refer to the word "Life" as meaning "Health care". Doesn't even refer to "sustenance" or "food" as "Life". Life means only ONE THING back then - the RIGHT to SURVIVE (by one's own means). In ALL of those pages - show me where "free health care" is enumerated. You CAN'T!!
@Chesty24MAU Then read the Supreme Court rulings on Medicare. The "right to survive by one owns means" can be found where? YOU MADE IT UP! Check out the General Welfare clause - then look up the definition for welfare at the time. This is one of the lamest excuses that people like-minded to yourself always seem to stoop to. The Supreme Court has already made it's decisions and it doesn't agree with what you're spouting.

Check out where groups like the NRTW get their funding. Corporations would rather spend millions on false campaigns than thousands to the workers who build their businesses. Look at all of the shady companies who break laws trying to get around paying Prevailing Wages. We wouldn't need Unions if companies took care of their workers.
If not for Unions only a very small minority would be able to finish high school because of the lack of pay workers received and just like the old days - kids would have to work to keep a roof over a family's heads. Why would contractors keep calling out Hall and asking for workers if we didn't make money for them? Herbs doesn't like to answer questions, so this goes out to anyone.

Labor unions are not needed. In fact, labor unions are pests that steal from honest workers, employers, and consumers. America would be better without most, if not all, of today's labor unions.
@herbs814 There are no secert ballots in place to be eliminated - I've told you that for quite a long time now - you're just being dishonest. In addition, card check has been removed from the EFCA for months. Iraq was FABRICATED intelligence. Not only that but, Bush promised that Iraqi oil would pay for the war - another lie. Do I need to list how many deaths have taken place since Dubya announced "Mission accomplished"?
Secret ballots are an inalienable right. Any union that does not allow secret ballots... or lobbies for their elimination... is an evil bunch of thugs that needs to be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted for the safety and protection of the honest workers that union thugs fraudulently claim to represent.
Healthcare is NOT a right. Healthcare is not free; it requires others' time, money, and resources. Therefore, to arrogantly claim that healthcare is a "right" is to claim the right to STEAL the doctors' time, money, and resources. Therefore no honest person ever considers healthcare to be a right.
LMAO-Read the US Constitution - the part about "General Welfare" and tell me again that Health Care isn't a right. Then go on and read the cases (esp MediCare) where the Supreme Court has sided that providing Health Care IS a right.
The Constitution clearly says that Congress is to "promote" the general welfare, NOT "provide" it. Providing Healthcare is NOT an authorized power of the federal government.
The only thing the government should do with healthcare is GET OUT OF THE WAY.
LMFAO Look up the definition of promote. You know, where it says that to promote is to "help bring into being".Next you'll be claiming that "wefare" has nothing to do with health!
My question is that when everyone is sucked dry due to politics similar to those that you adhere to, who are they going to go after to rape and pimp?
Since nowhere in the Constitution is the government authorized to be involved in healthcare, this clearly means that the federal government is FORBIDDEN from creating a government healthcare plan. And we will fight to the death to make sure that no government healthcare plan ever comes along to steal our superior private healthcare.
Show me where providing health care is forbidden. LMAO Rulings in the Supreme Court have proven you to be a liar.Private insurance turned down a 3 month old for being overweight-saying that it was a "pre-existing condition".You really are a silly little boy herbie! LOL
Our troops are dying in Afghanistan and Iraq. The people in those countries have Universal health care. You don't think that the US should be able to provide it for their own people? How out of touch can one get?
Yeah, making sure that people are able to get health care and not be forced into bankruptcy (medical bills are the biggest reason why people go bankrupt) is wrong. WOW! LMFAO
The current "Emergency Room" plan is working just fine isn't it?
What other options are available if you get turned down now?
@IWLocal8 You want our country to rise up to the high standards of living as Iraq and Afghanistan? You are ridiculous! To compare our nation to those 3rd world countries because they offer universal health care! Seriously? How out of touch are YOU? Of course with YOUR president Hussein and his spending of other peoples money we may end up a 3rd world country, just so you can have your healthcare. I hope you get sick a lot.
@swstryker I'd be happy with a middle class that gets paid a liveable wage that includes health care. Why should our returning heros not have health care after they get out of the Service while those that they fought have it?It's shameful.
@IWLocal8 So you think Iraqis and Afghanis are living a "middle class" lifestyle? What planet are you from or what are you smoking because I want some. Besides our returning heroes do get health benefits when they get home.
Also, I don't know why you are comfortable being middle class, but many Americans want more than that for themselves. Why settle when you can work hard and earn more?
As a vet myself, I can safely say that once one finishes their duty, they and their families do NOT continue to recieve health benefits. If you're thinking VA, that system is in shambles and a sick excuse for health care. (although under Obama it is improving)
As far as middle class-who do you think actually builds the US?I can only think of a few who work as hard as I do.I love what I do.Why not let those who make the country what it is live in it and be able to take care of their families?
@IWLocal8 As a family member of many vets I can tell you they receive many benefits after they finish their duty. Only one of them is the VA. I agree the VA is a lousy government run system, but it is still better than any of those third world countries health care systems that you lust after so much.
I have NO problem with the middle class as I am also part of that. My problem is that I alone have worked my way up the chain. I did not need a union to blackmail anyone for me. I earned it myself
@IWLocal8 Typical liberal, pro union response to patriotism. Just like everything else in your life you think you "deserve" things are given to you. I, on the other hand, earn what I have without the "help" of a union. I am a patriot not because my family has served, or because I have or haven't served but because I love my country and I hate seeing people like you that want to ruin it and turn into a third world country.
@swstryker Your point actually helps prove my point. Why is it third world countries can take care of their people, but, the richest country in the world won't?
@IWLocal8 If my response "proves" your point you are a sick, warped, kool-aid drinking pro union person. Why don't you go live in one of those third world countries and see how "taken care of" they are. Starving, lack of public education, lack of public sanitation, lack of clean drinking water, lack of any type of health care except from volunteers from foreign countries. Sounds great to you. Go move there!
@swstryker Our contracts are collectively bargained.Look that up.Every Signatory contractor is signed BY CHOICE - they could use nonunion help, but then they'd get what they pay for-crap unskilled labor. The UNION trains us and we elect our leaders every 3 years.
And yes - your comment on third world countries does prove my point quite well! You'd think that the country that COULD afford more would be willing to pay for health care, but, it's just the opposite.Like I wrote-pure GREED
@IWLocal8 "BY CHOICE", yeah right. That's like saying the Iraqis had a choice in who to vote for while Saddam was the dictator there. The union intimidates, threatens, harasses and blackmails anyone who dares think they can survive without the union. The union is nothing more than the legal mafia. If the union was such a great deal for employees, there would be a lot more union states and a lot more pro union people. But the union is just like our government, corrupt, greedy and power hungry.
@swstryker Translation, "I can't actually refute that, so I'm going to use appeal to ridicule." To denounce it in hopes that people will think the very idea of the majority of nonunion labor wanting to join unions being true (when it is) is ridicules.
@Fuctmentality Those studies are both from 2003 and 2005. A respected study in economics and labor is usually limited to 2-3 years due to the ever evolving platform. "Milton Friedman, Nobel Prize winning economist provided evidence that unionization frequently produces higher wages at the expense of fewer jobs, and that, if some industries are unionized while others are not, wages will decline in non-unionized industries
@Fuctmentality If you were actually able to read, but unfortunately you were probably taught by a union teacher who didn't have to actually KNOW anything, let alone teach anything because she was tenured, you would have read the first line which I refuted your findings as being from old studies. Those studies also actually have the percentage at LESS than 50% and that includes people who are already in a union. Very biased survey. Did they even survey people from "right to work" states? NOT!
@Fuctmentality Unlike you I was taught by a non union teacher and can read just fine thank you. Nowhere does it state that the random sampling of people surveyed were from union or right to work states. Also, the main reaction of MOST people was that they wanted "some" say in management decisions. That's a big jump from wanting a say in the companies decisions to wanting to join a union. Surveys can be asked in ways that automatically tilt the answers to the side wanted by the surveyor.
Respond to this video...Your lame ass excuses and blind faith in a criminal, politically motivated and corrupt organization is just making me ill. I cannot continue this debate any longer. I really, truly feel sorry for any others out there (no matter how few they are) that believe as you do. As far as crap unskilled labor, I don't remember the last time a building, bridge or home collapsed here in Phoenix that was built by non-union labor.
Respond to this video... The auto plants in this country have what is called a “closed plant,” which means that all employees had to be UAW members before they could be hired as employees. NO CHOICE in the matter. The union dues would be automatically deducted right straight out of their paychecks. Employees don't have anything to say about it. The biggest surprise, to most new hires, was that it was a law. The government was involved in this.
Respond to this video...Unions actively instigate work “slow downs” in which members under-perform or take longer to complete tasks, to force the business to hire more workers in order to increase union membership, just to meet business work quotas. Unions, which are big businesses, profit from union dues, the more the better.
Respond to this video...Unions consistently and continually seek higher wages and more benefits for less work. They do not care what that does to the competitive price of the product or service the business in business to produce. So long as there is any profit visible, they want it applied to more pay and benefits for union members.
If private insurance turns you down, you have other options. When government (which denies care at HIGHER rates than private insurance) turns you down, government has already denied you other options as well. Therefore private healthcare is always better than government.
drawn from excess money off the vast economy of the auto industry, it is not an example of trade unions. Members are not evil they were recieving just compensation from ultra wealthy CEO's, they are the leeches.
Unions are the leeches. America's recovery demands that unions be exposed and reformed. And if unions resist reform, they must be investigated and prosecuted.
Unions are organized crime organizations coddled by government favoritism. Unions must be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted. Because unions are dangerous pests that violate the rights of workers.
Right to work is a lie, people have the right to work, you want the right to steal, the "right" to have the benefits of union membership without paying for them, the protection of union membership without paying for it. That's called theft. Your unionbashing lies have nothing to do with "right to work," if unions are so awful, go work in a non-union workplace. You WANT to work in a union shop because they have better wages and conditions, but want to steal those benefits.
The Company violated the contract and Jason went to the Local President. He said the President said "There's nothing I can do for you". Notice that Jason said NOTHING about filing a grievance. There are SO MANY people who want others to fight their fight, yet have no courage to stand up for what they believe in.
WTF the wing nuts are acting like unions are some evil entity WRONG!!! Unions are groups of working families trying to make life better for themselves and others. So you have to question the motives of the union busters. Union buster fall in to one or more of the following>
1: They are GOP voters that are bitter working union families have some political power and used it to vote republicans out democrats in because they vote for labor more often.
Union organizers are groups of thugs who think it is right to intimidate, threaten, trick, coerce, and attack those who disagree with them. These actions by union organizers and union apologists are evil. Making excuses for these union goons is evil. Such "power" by unions are special privileges given to unions so that they can intimidate those who actually think for themselves. The ability to make a threat is not a "right" to unionize, it is violence, it is evil, it is inexcusable.
Protecting the right to not be intimidated and threatened and coerced by their union "brothers" is a great help to anyone. Why pretend that anyone who does not support forfeiting their money and their rights to organized crooks must be FORCED into coughing up his/her rights?
Union organizers are thugs. Whatever concessions they win by extorting employees and employers and politicians does not excuse their use of violence, fraud, and intimidation. For some sick reason you try to pretend the ends justify the means. Union tactics are evil. Anything they get from these tactics is unjust. No amount of gloating about what you extorted from people makes your cause just; it only makes you more despicable for tolerating such evil.
You should talk to the guys that used to work nonunion. Especially the ones that used to work for Custom Structural who had their profit sharing taken away and right after that - the owner bought a big new house. (which made him a liar-he said the company was doing too bad to be able to continue with the profit sharing)
What union has ever tried to intimidate you? What union have you ever been a member of? You're still pretty clueless aren't you? No fraud involved - we show the paper with the pay scale and benefits. No violence. No intimidation. I haven't decided if it's sad or funny how far off you've gone, but, you aren't even close to how organizing works. Also - anyone at any time can leave our Union.
2 company stooges, paid to make this vidiot message. Now get ready for at LEAST 4 years of union rule. now you can call the right to work foundation and ask "WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW,DADDY?
Big Unions, just another big evil business out to make a buck and crush the little man who dares get in their way. (ie, those who refuse to cave in to their protection racket). Typical of them.

IWLocal8 2 years ago
Since nowhere in the Constitution is the government authorized to be involved in healthcare, this clearly means that the federal government is FORBIDDEN from creating a government healthcare plan. And we will fight to the death to make sure that no government healthcare plan ever comes along to steal our superior private healthcare.
herbs814 2 years ago
Show me where providing health care is forbidden. LMAO Rulings in the Supreme Court have proven you to be a liar.Private insurance turned down a 3 month old for being overweight-saying that it was a "pre-existing condition".You really are a silly little boy herbie! LOL
IWLocal8 2 years ago
Our troops are dying in Afghanistan and Iraq. The people in those countries have Universal health care. You don't think that the US should be able to provide it for their own people? How out of touch can one get?
IWLocal8 2 years ago
"universal" healthcare is TYRANNY and we will fight to prevent it from ever being imposed upon us.
herbs814 2 years ago
"WE"? You have a mouse in your pocket?
I am totally astounded at how delusional you are. Try backing up your silly claims with a LITTLE proof.
I noticed you completely backed off the Constitutionality of health care. LOL
IWLocal8 2 years ago
Yeah, making sure that people are able to get health care and not be forced into bankruptcy (medical bills are the biggest reason why people go bankrupt) is wrong. WOW! LMFAO
The current "Emergency Room" plan is working just fine isn't it?
What other options are available if you get turned down now?
Where do you get this garbage?
IWLocal8 2 years ago
@IWLocal8 You want our country to rise up to the high standards of living as Iraq and Afghanistan? You are ridiculous! To compare our nation to those 3rd world countries because they offer universal health care! Seriously? How out of touch are YOU? Of course with YOUR president Hussein and his spending of other peoples money we may end up a 3rd world country, just so you can have your healthcare. I hope you get sick a lot.
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker I'd be happy with a middle class that gets paid a liveable wage that includes health care. Why should our returning heros not have health care after they get out of the Service while those that they fought have it?It's shameful.
IWLocal8 1 year ago
@IWLocal8 So you think Iraqis and Afghanis are living a "middle class" lifestyle? What planet are you from or what are you smoking because I want some. Besides our returning heroes do get health benefits when they get home.
Also, I don't know why you are comfortable being middle class, but many Americans want more than that for themselves. Why settle when you can work hard and earn more?
swstryker 1 year ago
As a vet myself, I can safely say that once one finishes their duty, they and their families do NOT continue to recieve health benefits. If you're thinking VA, that system is in shambles and a sick excuse for health care. (although under Obama it is improving)
As far as middle class-who do you think actually builds the US?I can only think of a few who work as hard as I do.I love what I do.Why not let those who make the country what it is live in it and be able to take care of their families?
IWLocal8 1 year ago
@IWLocal8 As a family member of many vets I can tell you they receive many benefits after they finish their duty. Only one of them is the VA. I agree the VA is a lousy government run system, but it is still better than any of those third world countries health care systems that you lust after so much.
I have NO problem with the middle class as I am also part of that. My problem is that I alone have worked my way up the chain. I did not need a union to blackmail anyone for me. I earned it myself
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker So you haven't Served - you're relying on family members for your patriotism. Sad,
What's available after ETS for health care?
IWLocal8 1 year ago
@IWLocal8 Typical liberal, pro union response to patriotism. Just like everything else in your life you think you "deserve" things are given to you. I, on the other hand, earn what I have without the "help" of a union. I am a patriot not because my family has served, or because I have or haven't served but because I love my country and I hate seeing people like you that want to ruin it and turn into a third world country.
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker Your point actually helps prove my point. Why is it third world countries can take care of their people, but, the richest country in the world won't?
One word - GREED
IWLocal8 1 year ago
@IWLocal8 If my response "proves" your point you are a sick, warped, kool-aid drinking pro union person. Why don't you go live in one of those third world countries and see how "taken care of" they are. Starving, lack of public education, lack of public sanitation, lack of clean drinking water, lack of any type of health care except from volunteers from foreign countries. Sounds great to you. Go move there!
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker Our contracts are collectively bargained.Look that up.Every Signatory contractor is signed BY CHOICE - they could use nonunion help, but then they'd get what they pay for-crap unskilled labor. The UNION trains us and we elect our leaders every 3 years.
And yes - your comment on third world countries does prove my point quite well! You'd think that the country that COULD afford more would be willing to pay for health care, but, it's just the opposite.Like I wrote-pure GREED
IWLocal8 1 year ago
@IWLocal8 "BY CHOICE", yeah right. That's like saying the Iraqis had a choice in who to vote for while Saddam was the dictator there. The union intimidates, threatens, harasses and blackmails anyone who dares think they can survive without the union. The union is nothing more than the legal mafia. If the union was such a great deal for employees, there would be a lot more union states and a lot more pro union people. But the union is just like our government, corrupt, greedy and power hungry.
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker Over half of all nonunion workers would join a union if they could.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality You are funny! Have you ever tried "stand up" comedy? Man you missed your calling! Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker Translation, "I can't actually refute that, so I'm going to use appeal to ridicule." To denounce it in hopes that people will think the very idea of the majority of nonunion labor wanting to join unions being true (when it is) is ridicules.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality there's a difference between wanting to be "in a Union" and wanting to be "in the current Union"
Look at how health care workers kicked out the SEIU and formed their own Union.
hoppinglark 1 year ago
@hoppinglark I am aware. But not all unions are the same. & again over half of non union labor would join a union if they could.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality
Based on which non-biased third party organizations study?
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker
Hart Research Center.
& research by Richard Freeman (of Harvard).
Both found more than 1/2 of all nonunion laborers would join a union if they could.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality Those studies are both from 2003 and 2005. A respected study in economics and labor is usually limited to 2-3 years due to the ever evolving platform. "Milton Friedman, Nobel Prize winning economist provided evidence that unionization frequently produces higher wages at the expense of fewer jobs, and that, if some industries are unionized while others are not, wages will decline in non-unionized industries
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker I notice you not stating anything to refute the fact that the majority of unorganized about would organize if they could.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago
@Fuctmentality If you were actually able to read, but unfortunately you were probably taught by a union teacher who didn't have to actually KNOW anything, let alone teach anything because she was tenured, you would have read the first line which I refuted your findings as being from old studies. Those studies also actually have the percentage at LESS than 50% and that includes people who are already in a union. Very biased survey. Did they even survey people from "right to work" states? NOT!
swstryker 1 year ago
@swstryker Read further.
Fuctmentality 1 year ago

Unions, which are big businesses, profit from union dues, the more the better.
swstryker 1 year ago
Respond to this video...Unions consistently and continually seek higher wages and more benefits for less work. They do not care what that does to the competitive price of the product or service the business in business to produce. So long as there is any profit visible, they want it applied to more pay and benefits for union members.
swstryker 1 year ago
If private insurance turns you down, you have other options. When government (which denies care at HIGHER rates than private insurance) turns you down, government has already denied you other options as well. Therefore private healthcare is always better than government.

Unions are tyrannical thugs that are trying to steal our right to a secret ballot, free from intimidation and fruad. UNIONS ARE DISHONEST.
Honest workers reject unions.

From the bottomless depths of your ignorance you speak.

The UAW was top heavy with power
drawn from excess money off the vast economy of the auto industry, it is not an example of trade unions. Members are not evil they were recieving just compensation from ultra wealthy CEO's, they are the leeches.
huckstered 2 years ago
Unions are the leeches. America's recovery demands that unions be exposed and reformed. And if unions resist reform, they must be investigated and prosecuted.
herbs814 2 years ago
You are terribly misinformed. Unions are closely regulated since Hoffa's time.
huckstered 2 years ago

2: They are business owners that do not offer benefits or a fair wage and dont want to.
3: They have been raised in a union bashing family and cant think for themselves.
4: They are holding a gouge because they had a bad experience with a union.
5: They have been brainwashed by the main stream media thats ran by the ultra rich and they dont realize they are screwing them selfs
Union bashers feel free to add to the list with your negative comments

WTF the wing nuts are acting like unions are some evil entity WRONG!!! Unions are groups of working families trying to make life better for themselves and others. So you have to question the motives of the union busters. Union buster fall in to one or more of the following>
1: They are GOP voters that are bitter working union families have some political power and used it to vote republicans out democrats in because they vote for labor more often.
FluxCapacitor2008 2 years ago
Union organizers are groups of thugs who think it is right to intimidate, threaten, trick, coerce, and attack those who disagree with them. These actions by union organizers and union apologists are evil. Making excuses for these union goons is evil. Such "power" by unions are special privileges given to unions so that they can intimidate those who actually think for themselves. The ability to make a threat is not a "right" to unionize, it is violence, it is evil, it is inexcusable.
herbs814 2 years ago
A "Top end of the town suit" pretending to help workers???.....What a moron.
genxfrog 2 years ago
Protecting the right to not be intimidated and threatened and coerced by their union "brothers" is a great help to anyone. Why pretend that anyone who does not support forfeiting their money and their rights to organized crooks must be FORCED into coughing up his/her rights?
herbs814 2 years ago
Yeah, being forced into accepting a liveable wage and getting health insurance should be a crime. LMAO
IWLocal8 2 years ago
Union organizers are thugs. Whatever concessions they win by extorting employees and employers and politicians does not excuse their use of violence, fraud, and intimidation. For some sick reason you try to pretend the ends justify the means. Union tactics are evil. Anything they get from these tactics is unjust. No amount of gloating about what you extorted from people makes your cause just; it only makes you more despicable for tolerating such evil.
herbs814 2 years ago
You should talk to the guys that used to work nonunion. Especially the ones that used to work for Custom Structural who had their profit sharing taken away and right after that - the owner bought a big new house. (which made him a liar-he said the company was doing too bad to be able to continue with the profit sharing)
IWLocal8 2 years ago
What union has ever tried to intimidate you? What union have you ever been a member of? You're still pretty clueless aren't you? No fraud involved - we show the paper with the pay scale and benefits. No violence. No intimidation. I haven't decided if it's sad or funny how far off you've gone, but, you aren't even close to how organizing works. Also - anyone at any time can leave our Union.
