  • hey i got a 7.3 turbo diesel, when iu press the gas or give it gas , the turbo doesnt open up, do you know what may be causing this. many thanks

  • @cuban571 Probably your waste gate on your turbo isnt working properly

  • ive got the wicked wheel

  • good ol garrett turbo

  • Ryan get a dp tuner chip, lot more boost

  • @99FORDTUFF Thanks for the comment, I've actually been thinking seriously about getting the DP Tuner. I've heard nothing but great things about it but I need to get a couple gauges first though so I can have a baseline.

  • DID THAT WICKED WHEEL ADD ANY MORE BOOST TO IT MY 95 ONLY DOES 12LBS ON A GOOD DAY STOCK TURBO, SCT TUNNER, AND SOON INJECTORS, WHAT IS THE PROBLEM ? THE FINS ARE A LITTLE NICKED, CLIMBS GOOD TILL TEN BUT WHAT CAN I DO TO FIX THIS TO RUN 20 OR SO.

SEND ME MESSAGES I WOULD LIKE PEOPLES FEED BACK ON THIS!

  • Misinformation. The 'wicked wheel' switzer wheel, x blade, whatever the heck you want to call it is nothing more than an E99 compressor wheel. They did indeed come stock. Don't believe me? Find any E99 7.3 and it will have the 'wicked wheel'. Ford changed to the newer style compressor wheel which surges with added power and to reduce the turbo whine. People actually thought the compressor whine was a problem so Ford also added insulation on the outside of the hot side intercooler pipe...

  • Thanks for the info.. Yeah I know I stopped recording about two seconds too soon so you can't really see the wheel when it's sitting still but I did read that some of these trucks came with that wheel stock. I can't imagine that people would consider turbo whine a problem but I know it's true. Look at most turbocharged cars and it's evident that the manufacturer went through some work to quiet down the turbo sound. Wasted effort IMO.

  • @03fx4 the turbo is also a little bigger on the late 99 and up 7.3's according to the guy at powerstrokehelp. i added the ww to my 2000 7.3 and its still quieter than my uncles early 99 powerstroke

  • @03fx4 You allways have the ''put my 2cents in man'',just pops out of nowhere like a big long slime of bird shit falling on your winshield type guy that thinks he knows it all,,I guess now your going to tell him that the wheel can be used as a air condition if you put ice on the backside of the turbo huh?

  • @nighttrain334

Hmm, not sure why you are so upset but I feel like it is helpful to explain rather than to just say "Yeah it is, or No it isn't." Those one liner responses tend to become impersonal, so unfortunately, if you didn't like my addition don't read it. Also, since when did I implicate or state that I knew everything. Just because I happen to share a little information I find interesting, you get all hot and bothered?

  • Well you cn only tell if the wheel stops moving, I doubt its got a wicked wheel unless it was changed out and not stock. Not completely sure but i kinda looks like the wheel is dusted but thats what i saw.

And yes if you undue the red hose thw wastegate wont open so early but may set off an over boost code and the CEL will come on. Good luck!

  • with the red hose removed you`ll get about 8 lbs more, you only need to cover it with something, so that air does not slip
