  • where can i get this fab movie i can't seem to find it anywhere ?

  • excellent movie - Simone Simon was great. No that keen on the remake though.

    coraclewoman

  • Beats the remake by more than a whisker, though Nastassia Kinski was really HOT in that flick!!! But this pounces on the remake in terms of style and content!

  • This classic horror film is the cats meow!

  • One of my fav classic movie i watched this back in the 80s when i was very little with my grandma n it scared the shit outta me haha.im so glad i had a classy fam 2 teach me n show me all the great classics not like 2days garbage.

  • In film you can see that strange woman come to Irena and tell her on Serbian language" You are my sister...." in restaurant called Beograd like Serbs call His Capitol Belgrade. It was their gathering First time to hear this legend is from one Lybian Guy who said that some problem is nothing for us because we are Balkan Lions. At first I think that he is crazy but now??The man who make scenario must have problem with our women. They look fantastic, but!!!!

  • Just watched it! Fabulous filmmaking.

  • i thought she has to much sex

    she turns into a cat

still a very great classic with awesome suspense and horror

  • Lewton is amazing!

  • Just saw this for the first time yesterday, and it's become one of my favorite movies:)

  • Curse of the Cat People is neat, it's as if Irena comes back as an Angel. Oops. Don't want to give too much away. But anyway, Cat People is a swell movie.

  • @castingtherunes I agree, watch with an open mind and it is a Gem by itself.

  • i thought cats don't like water lol

  • I've only ever seen the version with Malcolm McDowell, which was pretty good for a remake. This looks interesting though, must check it out.

  • @sharona1981 I loved the Malcolm McDowell version (and that's rare for me to prefer a remake to an original). Actually I only saw the full version of the original last night on TMC, followed by a documentary on Val Lewton narrated by Martin Scorcese. Both excellent.

  • One of the most underated movies ever! I've seen alot of horror movies and all, but I personally foudn the psychological and supernatural concepts here along with the stalking scenes to be 10 times better than the horror my generation seems to be getting today. I know I'm a bit different for prefering the classics, but I don't care. I find something more haunting in them. The acting, camera angles, shadows, and lighting were excellent. Movies like this inspire me to try to major in film someday.

  • @balrog13571 I totally agree with you. Have you seen "The Spiral Staircase"? from 1946, Awesome movie too.

  • @JoeMC7

No I haven't, but I'll put it on my "to see" list.

  • @balrog13571 I totally agree with it, although I also like the newer version of catpeople with Natassja Kinski.

Ik had also hadf a great suspence with the same stalkihng scene's. It even had teh swimming pool scene as in the the 1942 version. Together with the mystic music from David Bowie, this 1982 version whas a great version too. Are there still some horror masterpieces made between 1980 and now by your opinion, that can match the old classic horror movies you talking about?

  • @mijntuber

Yeah I thought the remake was okay too, though strangely enough it actually seemed to suffer whenever it was imitating the original because the tone of those scenes kind of clashed with the remake's new tone making them seem out of place if that makes any sense. As for your question, yes I have enjoyed many films from that time, but for different reasons. Lewton's were scary in the psychological sense, while 80's ones had those amazing effects, gore, and sometimes a comedic style.

  • We have this film posted on our channel!

  • Val Lewton's movies used the "power of suggestion" so when ur watching this film your you see things but conclusions are left up to the viewers imagination.

  • Looks interesting...

  • Neat-o, its like looking into the past with classics, I admit I haven't seen this original but I have seen the remake. =^.^=

  • I saw this film a few weeks ago. It was ok.

  • can you upload the whole movie??

  • No, it's not public domain, you'll have to buy it from Warner Bros.

  • oh fuck thats suck!!!

  • @vjmartinez88 You can watch it right here on Youtube for $2.99
