@jaimetatenco Because the rocksmith game itself sucks, the interface is confusing and too busy. Rockband's interface is much cleaner and has much more content.
Btw you do realize that Pro guitar was out a year before Rocksmith so I'm not understanding these arguments about Rock Band trying to compete with Rocksmith considering they already sold out all their pro guitars long before Rocksmith was even announced.
Imo Rocksmith is building off of what Rock Band 3 created.

That is not a real guitar. Yes it has stings, but it also has buttons... in theory this works like a real guitar, but it doesn't beat my ESP I have sitting in my sound room. Now not everyone will have a $2,000 guitar at home, but this plastic (yes it is plastic) mockery does not make me want to play Pro over Rocksmith.
@mercnet1980 When I say 100% real, I mean it. You can plug it into an amp and play. You can tune it, you can do whatever you can with any other normal guitar, hell if you wanna go touring with it or play a show with it, you can.

Also, I'm pretty sure if there's a tutorial which there is complete and full on about how to use the guitar and how to hold it and play then notes and everything. I'm pretty sure people can more than likely learn how to play.

if you cant learn guitar on your own with regular tabs you wont be able to learn this, this is like regular tabs flying at you at expert speed, this is not like regular guitar hero at all, if you already know how to play you might like this but youll never learn guitar on this
You know, that is a great cool thing they've made. However, I'm left handed even though theres a lefty mode, it probably feels uncomfortable. I've felt and held a right handed guitar and left. So I can't play that thing. I can't learn how to play right handed I've played lefty all my life.
For all of you ignorant people, the pro guitar is far away from being cheap. It's built from solid wood, weighs almost as much as a real guitar does and is overall great quality. Don't get caught in the 70's where a video game was just a joystick and a button.
Cmon honestly there is nothing wrong with the pro guitar it is a real guitar not plastic it's made out of wood for Christ sake there is no shame in learning through rb3 it is literally a cool interactive way of learning it and btw I didn't learn through rb3. I had already been playing for three years when this came out and guess what I love it and a lot of people play it so shame on you for not letting rb3 let you play real guitar in a game.

@chick3n999 Actually, the Mustang controller is plastic. I have one. I don't even have the game, I bought it just to use as a MIDI controller. And no, it's not a real guitar, but it can be used to control a real sound module or virtual instrument.
@chick3n999 Ah, yes, the Squier is a real wooden guitar. A bit wobbly and inaccurate from what I've heard though, but definitely real and probably a decent starter.
it's not about playing a real instrument or learning how to play a real one, it's a game! hang out with friends and have a good time,...there just making it more realistik. ....smart asses!
So there's no bass controller? That's going to make it kind of difficult to play the bass strings, when I practice my bass parts and songs on a six string it can be hard to play without constantly looking down to make sure that you aren't hitting the higher strings by accident. Kind of weird that they wouldn't make a bass too.
@toastinater depends, if ur just starting out then rock band/guitar hero are good to get dextirty down n' 2 build some really super core basics up. But if u've been playing awhile might be hard to adapt. I say get both, and do 1 to warm up get your fingers in shape, n' go for the real thing a hour or 10 a day.

there's only one way to be a real 'guitar hero' , just follow the instructions - get a life - once you got your life go and sell all the things you have about guitar hero (yes, ALL OF IT) - when you have the money, go to your closer musical istrument's store - then buy a fucking electric guitar (washburn, ibanez, jackson, they are good brands) and a fuckin amp (maybe a marshall if you have the money) - after that go and learn yourself some fuckin metal songs !

I don't have a teacher either. The thing is, if people really think that this is going to help them playing the real guitar they will be surprised... Because I guess you don't need the same strenth in the hands, you can't learn bendings, hammer ons and pull offs correctly which are essential.
I mean I don't order anyone not to buy this.. I played GH3 myself for a long time but then got a real one and its better..

@chick3n999 Actually, the Mustang controller is plastic. I have one. I don't even have the game, I bought it just to use as a MIDI controller. And no, it's not a real guitar, but it can be used to control a real sound module or virtual instrument.

@chick3n999 Ah, yes, the Squier is a real wooden guitar. A bit wobbly and inaccurate from what I've heard though, but definitely real and probably a decent starter.

So there's no bass controller? That's going to make it kind of difficult to play the bass strings, when I practice my bass parts and songs on a six string it can be hard to play without constantly looking down to make sure that you aren't hitting the higher strings by accident. Kind of weird that they wouldn't make a bass too.

@toastinater depends, if ur just starting out then rock band/guitar hero are good to get dextirty down n' 2 build some really super core basics up. But if u've been playing awhile might be hard to adapt. I say get both, and do 1 to warm up get your fingers in shape, n' go for the real thing a hour or 10 a day.

@toastinater well im one of those people who think the best way to play guitar is just to get a real one and work your way up.playing a full bodied one in a video game is kinda cheating.but i have no problem with people being influnced by rock band bcuz thats actually one of the things that inspired my to pick up the guitar.

i dont get why people get so upset about this. its not like rockband will eventually take over real instruments and every time you go to a concert their gonna be playing rockband instruments. if you dont like it, why do you watch the video? i personally play real guitar and drums but i still like rockband and i think this is cool. whats the problem with that?

What a bunch of clueless whiners.
It is an actual guitar, I play it on my amp.
It is a bit funky and limited, but nothing you will notice as a beginner; so it is perfect to learn.
On top of that it has a midi output, in case you want to record digital tracks on to a computer.
And Rocksmith is not out for another 4 months or so. Then I will also buy it, but until then, this is the best thing around.

there's only one way to be a real 'guitar hero' , just follow the instructions - get a life - once you got your life go and sell all the things you have about guitar hero (yes, ALL OF IT) - when you have the money, go to your closer musical istrument's store - then buy a fucking electric guitar (washburn, ibanez, jackson, they are good brands) and a fuckin amp (maybe a marshall if you have the money) - after that go and learn yourself some fuckin metal songs !
and it's ready, you're a pro!

Seriously, not everyone wants to be in a fucking band. I'd much rather stick to "pretend time" than learn how to play a real guitar. A lot of people don't have time to do that.
My brother owns a real guitar, I sometimes play around with it whenever I visit him from time to time. Not interested.

@Killerkarpfen1990 Well dude it's not like they're sayin you have to get it and aside from that this will let you learn on your own time,at you own pace,and with one down payment.So it eliminates the need to get a trainer that you'll have to schedule for,give your undivided attention to upon arrival,and pay frequently.But of coarse this is just for people who actually want to play an instrument,save some cash,and manage some time.

I don't have a teacher either. The thing is, if people really think that this is going to help them playing the real guitar they will be surprised... Because I guess you don't need the same strenth in the hands, you can't learn bendings, hammer ons and pull offs correctly which are essential.
I mean I don't order anyone not to buy this.. I played GH3 myself for a long time but then got a real one and its better..

@Killerkarpfen1990 Well the game will still teach them the basics which is pretty much the point of it dude and unless you're Jimi hendrixs yeah you do need a teacher of some sort.I wouldn't advise this one but fender does make a real guitar that people can use for the game(Which uses real tabs)and play on an amp so they can learn from the game and from other sources on info and still keep the same instrument.So its seems you just came here to be a useless critic...........
