It was nice to see the actual players and their movements while watching the game footage aswell, kind of gives you a feel to whats going on in their heads.

well it might be a video game, but the point is, its a 'game'', forget pulling off moves, its the element of strategy and out thinking your opponent that makes its worth playing at that level. Its like anything else, martial arts, chess etc.
Put it this way, try playing one of these top players, you'll soon realise what it takes to beat anyone.

well, all I was saying is, whenever a character gets accused of being "cheap" usually its one without a projectile. True his uppercut does have good priority, but there are ways around it. Its rare i see anyone call a non fireball character such as: Boxer, Honda, or Dictator cheap
Because Balrog, Honda and M Bison are charge characters (their moves are already hindered by that) and they have no projectiles for the unblockable finisher at a distance if the opponent has no health. And for example if Bison's psycho crusher and Balrog's dash punch are qcf + punch instead of charge forward punch then they can be considered cheap.
Boxer's crazy damage, instant rushdown, a headbutt that goes threw fireballs, one of the best supers in the game, and having one of the best throwing traps in the game, makes him almost unstoppable. Bisions crossup/mixups can cost you half your life if you mess-up, and honda has some of the highest priority moves, plus one of the greatest throw traps in the game. If you think someone is cheap just because they have a fireball... you have a lot to learn my friend.
problem is, you dont understand ST. Just because someone has a fireball, doesn't make them top tier. Boxer and claw are both top tier without it, and do damn well in the hands of good players. With boxer, you can rush down alternating TAP and low rush punch. The headbutt goes clean through all fireballs, and so does the super. Boxer's range, damage, dizzy, hold traps, and great ways around fireballs makes him very good character.

You don't know any better yourself. NO ONE has really challenged a Ryu player with Balrog, AND WIN! The only times when such fights take place is when the user chose Balrog first, then his opponent is a turtle and picked Ryu. AND he lose to the one who chose Ryu.
Would you like to fight me using Balrog while I use Ryu when it is clear than Ryu has more advantages especially also when all his moves are not charge and could be executed instantly?

The headbutt (charge down then up punch) goes through all fireballs, even the super fireball. your lack of knowledge in this game isn't making your argument better. And like Nyrin said, your acting like Claw and Boxer are inferior characters just because they dont have fire balls. Claw can dismember fireball characters just with his speed and Hyobal tactics, and i already posted about boxer. I'm saddened at the fact that you think you are any good at this game.
It's worth noting that while Daigo tends to lose vs. O. Sagat with his Ryu, he tends to beat O. Sagat quite easily with Boxer. Boxer has large advantages against projectile characters and insane damage potential.
For E. Honda, closing in is a lot harder, but if Honda gets close, he'll decimate basically anyone. That's why you tend to need a ranged character to beat up Honda.

Despite being a charge character (that slows him down like Balrog and Vega) E Honda is great against Ken and Ryu, but he is also known to be weak against Guile.
I know also because someone pretty experienced and cheap in the arcades used Ken to beat my Guile and I in turn used Honda to beat his Ken and his Ryu for a total of 5 times (yes he continues and alternates between the 2) partly mimicking the AI's techniques before he used Guile and win. So all in all I lose twice, he lost 5 times.

Also, I can choose Ryu or Ken in turn to beat his Guile, which is back to square one but I know that opponent of mine is a loser who can't accept defeat and would challenge me over and over (a fight that seemed to have no end in sight?), and I was just there that evening to play a one-player game by myself, so I can't be bothered to fight those petty losers when that was obviously not my intention in the first place.

I am surprised none of you have the brains to know that the AI Balrog and Vega do not always act as their charge moveset suggests (in fact usually much faster).
If Balrog's dash punches are quarter moves instead of charge, he'll be VERY DEADLY. Same for Vega if his dive claw and air drop are instantly executable via the shoryuken motion as opposed to charge up.

But thats how the game is designed. Can you imagine Guile with a backward quarter circle motion for flash kick ?or a forward quarter for sonic boom ? He would be overpowered.
The game is well balanced, charge characters have other strenghs.
But of course, charge players have to work the 1-2 sec charge into their gameplay.
