sounds like route 490 is a highway name,most departments have a dual dispatch due to opposing lanes and long distance before a on/off ramp..send a truck from both lanes of travel and you are guarenteed to have one of them arrive in department responce time..and if fire is large enough and requires more water highways are hard place to begin water shuttle ops..sending quint opposing way leaves option to use it from opposing lane as well...think outside the box people!!!
@AlexNAFD simply because people will expect to see only 1 emergency vehicle responding...not 2. 1st one goes by and people think it is now ok to carry on and that is where your accidents happen. a lot of dept's have this or a similar policy.

@stormtracker1 plus brighton has limited manpower, only 2-4 guys per truck

@stormtracker1 - Their policy sends an Engine, Quint plus duty officer for any reported call on the Expressway.

@mcfw umm is that a quint or a platform?
123bubum 6 months ago
@123bubum Both. As long as it has the 5 things needed to be a quint, it can be a mid-mount, rear mount tower, rear mount stick, tiller, etc.

@rykember11 ok thanks

@mcfw why send a Quint to a vehicle fire? I wouldn't think there would be any need for one there.
