wow his english/understanding is a lot better than i thought. his performance in all honesty wasn't that good but he probably needs to get adjusted more to the cage/USA. Hes a talented fighter and i really do hope that japanese mma can really be top like they were during pride. They just need to adjust their gameplans, train more with other camps, continue to fight in the US/cages, etc. hioki elbows are allowed in the ufc haha

no he didnt hioki won the first 2 rounds. nobody got robbed that night. it was just the ufc jitters from his debut and also hes not use to fighting taller fighters but since both is out of his way hes gonna dominate all his shorter opponents.

Personally, I beleive that when Japanease fighters come to America to fight, they get so shook by our bullshit lifestyles that it turns their brain to mush. ya..idk the US is a wild place to live..fuck the USA (I live in colorado)

@chuey1988 You're right and you rarely do. Gomi has been to Xtreme Couture and Akiyama to Greg Jackson's but i think it was just once or twice. Hioki should really try to do training camps in the US/Canada more often, as i think the training in Japan is whats lacking.

@krisroops it seems in a lot of opinions its hard to transfer japan to us and not the other way around as japan they have a small group of doing the same thing when in europe/NA/SA all have these mixed styles mashing together and its hard to adapt to things you dont see or train against due to lack of foreigners training in japan.

@krisroops idk. i think part of it is they all seem to come from similar backgrounds and they dont have the most athletic fighters. alot of the japanese fighters dont have good transitions either... they r a little behind the curb.
