  • I'm trying to figure out the same thing with my hair. If I hold a piece of my hair all along the hair shaft the hair is not smooth; I don't know it's that my cuticle or split ends?? I only hsve my previously relaxed hair to compare it to..

  • if you find the answer, please let me know because my hair is exactly like that. it's got curls everywhere, some loose, some coily, some wiry, and my ends are frizzy! the front, the middle, and the back are three different textures and i think my ends make it a lot worse. i love it when it is wet though! but once it dries...look out!!!

  • @watchfuleye2008

Thank you for responding! i will try to use products with aloe vera in them.

  • hi! i saw your other video the one you where doing a wash and go with the ecostyler gel and your hair look so beautiful, but i was wondering did you solve it with the frizzy ends cause i think i have the same problem and i really like to know what you did about that. xxx

  • @GoldenBrown902 Hey....thanks for stopping by....well Ive found that most of the time when your ends are too frizzy its because the cuticles are up and not layin down...try using products that have aloe vera juice in them..this balances the pH in your hair.. (learned all this from Kimmaytube..lol) Now most products I use have AVJ somewhere in the ingredient list! Good Luck!.. : )

  • I've been natural for about 10 months. I think I may have split ends but I've haven't been natural for a year yet and I want to retain my length and have longer hair but I keep thinking I won't acheive those results. Is it bad (or possible) to already have split ends so quickly. To me that just seems quick to give yourself a trim and to not have been natural for so long.

  • @LilacStar82 IMO all hair splits at some point when not enough moisture is penetrating the hair..the key is to cut them out when you notice the ends looking and feeling rough. it doesnt mean you have to 'trim' the hair, just cut the actual split areas..'search and destroy'..congrats on 10 months!!!

  • after you use a moisturizer like shae butter or carrot cream, use coconut oil all throughout your hair and concentrate it on the ends. this should help, let me know what happens!

  • @xclusiv4321 Thanks so much for commenting on such an old video..but Im not having this issue any further...Ive actually never used coconut oil or pure shea butter on my hair except once, and it was too heavy..

  • You look like a 3c-4a...if there was a 3d, that'd be you. In my opinion.

  • @jazdj04 I agree!! : )

  • It confuses me to I have 4a-4b really tightly coiled and the ends just do whatever. I tried cutting them and it just does the same thing... :((

  • yeah u look like a 4a/4b with mostly 4a

  • I don't use heat very often, but I'm planning to only use it when I need to trim my ends (unless I can find an easier way to do it). Thanks, and your hair looks great!

  • I've been wondering the same thing about my hair. If I don't stop clipping on it so much, it'll never grow. When it's wet, the ends look great and feel healthy, but when I straighten it with heat the ends are very frizzy and brittle-looking. I'd like to know if it's just bad technique or split ends.

  • Hi canice27~ it could be split ends..or the heat.....since doing this video Ive stopped using heat (8 months now) and I really concentrate on keeping my ends moisturized and give myself a dusting every 8-10 weeks whether I feel I need it or not..thanks so much for watching!

  • See you and the author both have the same issues as me...and everyone always looks at me weird when I ask this question lol! I dont use heat on my hair except to blow dry some I am not sure what to do either. I think I am going to use the gloss or oil to protect my hair.

  • Also, I was thinking if I keep clippin mines will never grow either...I still stuck.

  • your not 3c. your 4a/4b

  • subscribe to phillydiva

  • the heat is most likely the problem because it was a problem for me.

  • I think your hair looks great! As for split ends, I get my hair trimmed every 6 to 8 weeks to prevent split ends. It's also important to maintain separate scissors that are only for hair trimming. Dull scissors can cause additional damage. Some people use diffusers so I don't think that indirect heat from your dryer is that as damaging. If the dryer had a comb on it and you were applying direct heat, it would be more damaging. Hope this helps

  • well hello..i dont understand the hair typing myself..my hair has the tight s curl pattern..and my curls twist around each other..i have about 4 inch of virgin hair.. just so you know sista your hair is simply beatuiful....i love your busy-ness..

  • my curls twist around each other too..which makes it very hard for any length to be visible...thanks for the compliment and for watching!! Blessings*

  • hi! watched this vid based on your comment on my page...hope my info was helpful

    keep in touch!

  • After viewing ur dusting video cynthiaf, I did a thorough dusting last night and Ive laid off the heat.a week now....My hair feels soo much better!..Thanks for all the feedback ladies!

  • Try co-washing with a mosturizing conditions and deep conditiong it once a week and please! Please! lay off the heat. It sound like your hair is trying to become damage and brittle from the heat. Just try co-wash and it will get better. I use V05 and coconut conditioner made by Suave.

  • Yeah lay off the heat. Combing your hair when it's wet in the shower- loaded with conditioner and again just keeping your ends moisturized and sealed

  • I get knots all the time & my ends are never just smooth, but I think it's just the nature of curly/natural hair. I get my ends trimmed pretty regularly and if I see something in between trims that I don't like, I either don't worry about it or I cut it off myself lol.

  • Good luck with this, Im not sure either. I just search for knots and clip those. I havent done a trim trim for a few months and dont plan on it any time soon. I hope you solve this issue, it can be frustrating:-)

  • Well Im glad Im not alone!....I think I will lay off the heat though and that should solve the issue.

  • I am having the same issue. I just got my ends clipped 1 week ago so I am not sure what it is.
