@MalibuKen65 our 2001 Honda Odyssey has been very good to us. we've had it since 2002, and, in my wife's words, "it's the only car i've ever had that i haven't had any complaints about". I guess every model has its occasional lemon, but this is a real peach of a car. we *DID* have to get a new transmisison, but that was a widely known problem, and there was no charge (I think we were still within warranty, or something).

Design it, own its brand, outsource its production if you have to, market and sell it... with everyone making much more than "50 cents a day." I think the marketing ploy here is showing flawed characters using the product. Do we really need to see more beaming, radiantly gorgeous, slim mothers in sun-dappled immaculate houses paying heed to their kid's every need? Such a character is not sympathetic or relatable. These self-absorbed spiritually stunted yuppie types are more like the average person, and thus more lovable! Also, their characters are so stereotypes that you get to feel superior to them.

Interesting choice Toyota marketing team. While I find the content rather funny (and personally respect Toyota products)...I'm just wondering what makes Toyota think this will HELP them make more sales. The reason "lifestyle" pieces (not like this one) worked is because the people buying the product WANT to be like the people in the ad. Not sure who would sign up to buy the same product these self absorbed (although funny) people would...lifestyle pieces aren't entertaining...risky. We'll see.

I like Toyota, it's a toss up between the Tacoma or the Tundra as to which is my dream vehicle but I'm a truck guy and I don't have kids.
