This entire trailer is an obvious reference to Zelda. The graphical style at the start, the storyline and even the music are all trying to imitate the grand adventure aspect of the Zelda series. This games "hero" also just happens to be a young forest boy with a dagger and a wooden sheild with a cross on the front. I think the "dot" thing is a cool idea, there's just one problem; you can't expect Nintendo to allow their series to be used this way, at least not on a non-Nintendo console.

Protip: I was talking about the trailer, not the game itself. Even though the game is ment to be a homage to the 8-bit days, the trailer is entirely Zelda-based (with a hint of Final Fantasy). With all the game-related lawsuits recently I'm just surprised Nintendo didn't pick up on this. Besides, the whole "spoof" gimmick is just an excuse not to think. I'll probably get the game for nostalgia sake, it's just not original in the slightest.
