Truffaut en cravate est superbe. En ce qui concerne Leaud rien a dire, la rigueur incarnee, sobre, efficace, devotion totale... Un seul message: du baroque, du baroque et encore du baroque !!
exelent, its well done but truffaut copied that shot at 2:33 from godard's begining on le mepris...where raul coulthard points the camera at your face....but i think godard always used photography, language & technique way more daring & unique than truffaut's movies as scorsese once said...to me truffaut was too sucked in into hollywood orthodox's filming style from farenheit to that point....but he was great anyway...my opinion:: best film about film goes to federico fellini's 8 1/2...cheers
8 1/2 is by far the better film but its not really about film making. Its about the state of life/mind of Guido as he is in and out of his dreams/imagination being pulled down to the world where he has a mental block and he needs to escape to them exploring his past and situation with his wife and mistress. Besides the audition scene, the shuttle launch pad being constructed, and talks with his producers its really not showing film making or the process of.
8 1/2 is pretty mutch discussed everytime a "film within film" on movies kind of conversation pops up...(along with le mepris too)..and often cited as the first one to do that & the best one also...but yes..i thought that after i wrote the reply to you..that its almost like fellini is constructing a state of mind on that film rather than the filming process...also truffaut borrowed from fellini on the black & white memories, he never said that, how rare?...but yes agreed...cheers!
Kitten scene plz!! :) I loved this film.

This is the best movie, I think, of the process of making a movie.

François Truffaut est un réalisateur génial, Jacqueline Bisset est dvine et la musique de Georges Delerue est sublime. Que du bonheur.
