  • wooow! my great grandmother was in this tsunami she saw it all happen and she was 12 years old. she told us that she was a great swimmer and was sent out in the water to save children and adults who couldnt swim. she said it was a horrible thing to see. she said there were dead animals and debris all over the place.

  • @KiranaForever You'll find most music that relates to space has this "eerie" if not "lonesome" touch to it, Rings of uranus sounds like a name that says, "There's nothing there." Or is there?

  • crazy footage, i never seen this one, my father was only 3 yrs old when this one hit, his uncle came and got him out of his crib, he lived in the Shinmachi/Waiakea area.! My dad told me that the water rushed in his house everyone got out safe but when he tells me stories i just trip out!, I cant even fathome the idea.....thank you for the video.

  • RIP to all those persons that die. but half of them died because they thought it was a " April's Fools " joke since this occured in April 1st, 1946 and didn't bother to go in a safer elevation! :o

Kauai- Hurricane Dot, Hurricane Iwa, Hurricane Iniki

Oahu- Potential hurricane impact, mega-tsunami from Mauna Loa flank

  • I wish I could find pictures of the downtown as it was before the 1946 tsunami. I live on the Big Island, but I've only seen Hilo with all of those parks that were created in the inundation areas after the 1960 tsunami. I guess before that the buildings were right up against the bayfront. Can anyone help me find pictures like the ones I am talking about?
