  • Mine is starting to head bob and I don't think it's even there mating season

  • @JustinBieberfan3562 In captivity there is no specific breeding season

  • oh 1 last thing my female is really into greens rite now got any suggestions on some verry heathy greens? cause i know iceburg lettuce is a no no

  • thanks for the help though :)

  • hey man ive been trying to get mine to bread with my sisters mines the female but hers just jumps on mine and kinda like squishes it should i just let them be or get him off cause he mite be harming her?

  • @pedelpopper The male should be on top of the female in order to breed. How old are both dragons and how much do they weigh? I suggest you take a look at my other video "Breeding Bearded Dragons". Make sure you are ready for a pretty costly and time consuming commitment

  • @civicgrl88 well i dont really want the babies but if it happens it happens its a natural thing but i just dont know if they are fiting or having mating signs but thanks i did some research and the biting is just a natural thing to do to the female and the squishing ontop of her lol

  • @pedelpopper Are they housed together? They really shouldn't be and even if you don't want babies they still should be a healthy weight and age before you allow them to mate even if you throw the eggs out.

  • @civicgrl88 ya they are perfect ive had mine for 7 years now and my sisters is 5 years old mines the females hers is the male all healthy never had a problem with either 1 before they each have there own 50 gallon thank and required lighting..just i want hers to hang out with mine so mine can have a friend lol

  • @pedelpopper At those ages it's not really smart to let them breed. Dragons are solitary animals as well and don't do well in the company of another dragon. It's best to keep them apart. It's good that they are more into greens. After the age of 18 months they should mostly get greens anyway. Collards, dandelion greens, endive, escarole, squash turnip greens and mustard greens are healthy choices.

  • @civicgrl88 ya she loves dandelions too, but the male is mostly a meat eater he only likes to eat moving objects really lol, but ya i didnt know that they were told old to breed allready but thanks ill keep them apart for now till they back to normal lol

  • @civicgrl88 really? we give them Lubias, which are 80% protein, and our beardies are buff and healthy. I have heard that they need equal amounts of greens and protein. Even our uromastyx Elvira LOVES her bug every once in awhile, and she is supposed to be a vegetarian..

  • @blessedmommy73 that much protein as an adult can be deadly. It causes issues such as fatty liver disease and renal failure. Only pregnant females should get a 50/50 diet

  • @pedelpopper at 7 years old, she is too old to breed.....

  • @civicgrl88 please don't throw the eggs out..donate them, there are people like me out there who LOVE doing this, and we have a huge aquarium of super healthy bugs, so it doesn't cost us a thing to feed them...

  • @pedelpopper unfortunately, the mating of bearded dragons is..well...for the lack of a better term..rape. He will jump on her, squish her to show that he is the boss, bite her in the neck, and do his thing. He won't harm her...it's the way it's done..but do know that it's not pretty to see, and your female WILL be walking funny afterwards, especially if he gets his sharp toe in there like my male does...OUCH!

  • How can if figure out if my dragons are male or female?

  • i think my dragons are both guys, and they still do that to eachother.. are my dragons gay?? lol :D

  • @MrGuitarheropimp Males will still do this to other males and even females will do this to other females or males. It is all about showing dominance. So no your dragons aren't gay lol

  • @MrGuitarheropimp Place your dragon on a flat surface and then gently lift the tail towards their head until you feel resistance. There should be 1 or 2 bulges above the vent. 1 = girl 2 = boy

  • why wuz it wagging itz tail?

  • @DoTheKoziKat Its the females way of calling the male over to breed more or less

  • LOL he was chasing her!

  • Are Beardies and Iguana mating seasons at similar times? Because My bearded dragon, Spike, has started bobbing his head, and has gone darker, his tank is properley heated, always has food and water, etc., but My Male and Female Iguanas, Blue and Pritchard, have started bobbing their heads, and showing signs of affection. Just a simple question... :o

  • @TornStarPornStar Beardies in captivity have no particular season to breed. They can breed any time of year but if they just got done brumating then there is a chance they are in the mood to do the deed.

  • holy crap no lie that pretty creepy i would say that there beard turns black

  • mine just all of a sudden got a really black beard this morning, does that mean they were mating?

  • @C0DMedia A black beard can mean several things. It can be aggression, stress, being too cold or wanting to mate. The fact that it was in the morning they could have been annoyed by being woken up and a little bit cold. Are you looking to breed? Are your dragons housed together and how old/how much do they weigh?

  • @civicgrl88 I really don't want them to breed because I have no clue what to do with their eggs. Do I let them take care of them or take them to the vet or something to let them keep them in a right container and properly heated.

I was also afraid of them having a baby bearded dragon because I can't keep it in the same cage as it's mom and dad, right? I dont feel like having several cages.

  • @C0DMedia In that case you should really separate them so that they have their own enclosures. Beardies really shouldn't be housed together because there are strong chances of fighting, one being dominant over the other and in cases of males/females over breeding or underage breeding. Beardies are solitary animals and are only social with people. Most reptiles do not take care of their young and if the eggs did hatch in the enclosure (not really possible) the beardies would eat their young.

  • @civicgrl88 we had them for almost a year now and they were still young when we bought them and they are almost fully grown now and still have not fought. I'm guessing ones a male and the other is a female. do you think they will still fight?

  • @C0DMedia Fighting can occur at any time as can over breeding or dominance. If you see your dragons laying on each other that is a sign of dominance not affection. I personally would not risk it by keeping them together. I'm sure you care about your animals very much and the best thing to do is to separate them or rehome one so you don't have to get another enclosure. If you are mistaken on the genders of the animals and you have 2 males, it's only a matter of time before they fight

  • @civicgrl88 what happens when they fight? do they get seriously hurt or what?

  • @C0DMedia They can bite off toes, limbs or even kill each other

  • I've got 2 bearded dragons

  • a lil but not much

  • hey another q my bigger ones belly is getting black what does tht mean

  • @gallblatter5678 It could mean that it's cold, stressed, not feeling well or a number of other things. Is the beard black too?

  • what does it mean when little one lays on big one

  • @gallblatter5678 That is the little one trying to assert his/her dominance over the larger one.

  • kk and now the lil one lays on big one

  • well i got a 20 gallon long tank with my anoles in and a spare 10 could the lil dragon go in the 20 anoles in 10

  • @gallblatter5678 That could work

  • kk but im not sure the person may give it to is a good one bcus hes just an aquatince and hes always drunk and im scared hell abuse it and kill it

  • @gallblatter5678 Yeah, that isn't a good person to give it to. Try and sell it online on craigslist or hoobly(dot)com. There is a good chance one may die if kept with the other one. There already is dominance being shown between the two. It doesn't get better

  • i know someone who can take one of them but they seem friendly to each othe the sleep on top of each other all the time

  • @gallblatter5678 That's good that you have someone who can take one of them. What you see when they lay on each other is the top one being dominant over the other one. It's their way of literally being king of the hill. The one on top gets to keep the most warmth or be closer to the light.

  • ok i would like to seperate them but i couldnt i have no other tanks and they been together for a while would i hurt them or stress them to seperate them and the little girls beard has black circle to idk i think htey could be both males

  • @gallblatter5678 I apologize if I may sound harsh but you should not have taken these 2 dragons without doing your research. If you cannot provide an individual tank for each of them you will have to rehome one. Keeping them together is doing more harm than good. Especially if you have 2 males. You should ask some friends or someone to take in one of the dragons. If you want to do whats best for them you will find a way to get them apart. Dragons are naturally solitary animals not communal

  • idk his weight or age i got them from my friend who got them from craigslist he couldnt afford to caare for them so i took em off his ahnds but im guessing 5 months for male and famale im not sure

  • @gallblatter5678 5 months is way too young to be breeding. You need to separate them permanently as soon as you can. With these being from craigslist it is reasonable to think that these two were lacking in proper care and may have some issues with them. And they may be related for all you or anyone knows. It is best if you are looking to breed, to use different dragons and to research a bit more before you do so.

  • srry bout long reply but the female is waving now does tht mean shes ready and also my male has gotten fat what can i do for him to diet i give him crickets every other day and salad every day the salad is mustard greens carrots and apples

  • @gallblatter5678 Waving is a sign of submission. It could mean the female accepts the male or that she submits to him and doesn't want him to mate. Usually it is a sign of her being ok with the male. How old are your dragons? How much do they weigh? Your male may look fat but he may be an ok weight for his age and size.

  • my male dragon is quite bigger than my female he head bobbs and she runs away from him is that because shes to small or not ready pls reply

  • @gallblatter5678 There is a chance that because of the size difference she is intimidated by the male. She could possibly not be interested in the male. How old are your dragons and how much do they weigh? Are they constantly housed together?

  • I have a question about bearded dragon breeding. My male will often times chase my female like in this video, but then he will get on top of her with his mouth open and usually nips at her a little bit when she walks away. Is this normal? I'm afraid he's going to hurt her.

My female usually waves at him more than anything.

  • @lolgina The nipping is ok to an extent. Sometimes males can be overly aggressive and actually injure the female. This is why it's always best to watch them while they mate to make sure they don't hurt each other. This is also another reason why generally males and females shouldn't be housed together. You sure you have a pair?

  • @civicgrl88 We're 100% sure that the female is indeed a girl, and the breeder confirmed it as well. However the male I'm not totally sure on...for some reason we're having a hard time distinguishing him. When I check him it almost looks like both genders. The female is about 11 months old and the male is 9 and a half months. I almost hope he is actually a girl though, so they can live together more neutrally. With his behaviour though, it seems like it'd have to be a male.

  • @lolgina Those ages are way too young to breed even if you aren't going to let them mate intentionally. Unfortunately they will have to be separated in their own enclosures. Females are just as capable of causing serious harm to other dragons as males can. Dragons by nature are solitary and do not thrive with the company of other dragons. If you do want to breed you are gonna want to make sure both dragons are no younger than 18 months, no less than 350 grams and neither of them have MBD.

  • @civicgrl88 Thanks for the tips :)

  • @lolgina Np

  • thats so cute!lol

  • i have 2 baby beardeds in the same tank and they dont fight.. if i keep them 2gether will thy mate in the future?

  • @BammBammXD There is a likely chance 1 of 2 things or maybe even both will happen. 1 being they will hinder each other's quality of life from dominating one another and fighting and/or they will breed and overbreed and breed too young. Ideally dragons should always be housed alone. Also if they are related they will not produce healthy offspring

  • if i separated them would they mate if i put them togrther after about a week

  • @andrewf95 if they are put together they will probably mate but that isn't good since they are brother and sister. Separate them and keep them separated. If you want to breed get another one that isn't related, keep it in it's own enclosure and then put them together for a couple of minutes and let them mate

  • @andrewf95 i went to the pet shop 2 day and asked they said there a small chance they are related but it shouldent stop them maiting iav separaed them now anyway

  • @andrewf95 glad to hear you have separated them

  • my female dosent nod her head that much she does it slightly and he constently nodding but they neverr end up maitting he will nodd she sometimes waves then run off and he will chase her and bite her. but never end up maitting so iam thinking off separaitting them for 3 days so theyy want it moree lol there brother and sister but they dont rilly know tha and aparently they will still mait if they are HOPEFULLY

  • @andrewf95 You really shouldn't breed them if they are brother and sister. It isn't healthy and they should always be separated especially since they are related.

  • @civicgrl88 iam not sure to bread them becouse if they are brother and sisterr its not rilly right lol do you think i should bread them there always like tryin to mait but iam not sure to separate themm for about 3 daythen see where they go from that thanks for the advise anyway

  • lol they looking like the twinking out

  • lol 0:17 its like us...HoW yOu DoInG lol

  • Lol there's a poop in the tank! I'm going to breed my bearded too! I need to find a female. Did u kno that only 1 in 9 bearded dragons are born female!

  • @MrScottk13 I can't see poop? You sure you aren't mistaking that rock for poop? lol That is a pretty interesting fact though

  • @civicgrl88 also u shouldnt sell them before they are 6 inches long...

  • @MrScottk13 Yep usually its 6 weeks and 6 inches long

  • @civicgrl88 yep... mines cool ill put a vid on soon.

  • Ok, I'll make sure I seperate them if I see the 'signs'

  • are you trying to breed them? if not they should have their own enclosure even if they don't show these signs.

  • @civicgrl88 No but we're trying to decide if we should or not...

  • You may want to take a look at my "So you think you can breed" video. It covers most of the things most people don't realize when they venture into breeding. If you feel that you can afford everything and have the proper amount of time and healthy animals, then go for it, Every enthusiast deserves a shot at breeding as long as they have the proper knowledge and are prepared for everything. How old are your dragons and how much do they weigh?

  • Hey there. How old do they hav e to be to mate? If there like 5 monoths old the same size but not the same gender, will they mate when their older if they get along well?

  • They need to be no younger than 18 months old and 350 grams...i dont know if you house them together right now but if you do, please dont because it puts your dragons at risk...another important thing is to make sure they arent related AT ALL

  • hey my name is james and i have beardies, but they won't mate? For some reason they just won't? P.S. my female has laid eggs before and my male has bobbed his head and got on top of her but didn't skoot his tail under hers and do his business!CAN ANYONE HELP ME!?

  • do you keep them together all the time? its common for a male and female thats housed together to never mate honestly im not sure why but it does happen...how old are your beardies and how much do they weigh?

  • i have a female and a male bearded dragon, the male is very cocky and they fight whenever they can, can i stop this? they look like theyre going for the tail and not the neck, should i let one win? (not kill or mane, just show whos the boss) and if they always are attacking eachother, will they still mate?

  • they need to be kept separated permanently! they are going to kill eachother....and as for breeding, i suggest you research a couple of years before you even attempt to let them breed...are you sure you have a male and female? letting them fight wont solve anything except give you atleast one dead dragon...they wont stop once one "shows whos boss" because its usually a fight to the death or until one is seriously injured

  • alright , ya im pretty sure i have a male and female, the male is large and fat (just because i spoil them lol) and has a very broad triangular head with an assorted pattern of 6 or so bumps on his legs next to his vent. my female is younger and has a narrower head with more irradically placed bumps near her vent. they are not litter mates, and my female (ollie, but i like to call her tweak lol) is like 6 months younger than the male (indy short for indiana jones) but i havent put them together
